new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Should I buy Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch ? And should I buy the pretty Big box one if it's well below the vgpc price?

Gahd I need a better storage solution....

If it comes with the wizard manual, I'd jump on it. That game begs to be played with the wizard manual, and wish I was able to have gotten it.

Agree.

Extra irony is that the Sega Ages release in Japan were BUDGET titles for 2500 yen when they came out.

The price was DEFINITELY right at $60 shipped though. Was gonna turn it into an emulation box.

Wow 60 shipped.. most of that would have been shipping?

I think they underestimated the shipping costs. It might have gotten here going UPS Ground for around that much, but I would imagine it would have been more.

Super Hang On and Fantasy Zone as well.

@DiamondDave I wouldn't have trusted that to be shipped properly.

Edit: Certainly not surviving UPS ground.

Well, they had a whole fudging roll of bubble wrap next to it so I figured worst case, it's suspended in bubbles and gets bumped around a bit in transit.

I was gonna upgrade the RAM up to a gig, too. It was gonna be my little CRT PCE. Man.

Oh well. Someday!

It's obviously the smartest thing to do, but for sixty bucks, I figured it was worth a shot. All the BIN listings are way too much money, some people want like, $130 for shipping which is absofudginglutely ridiculous.
Gypsy
GameTZ Gold Subscriber Triple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally
25-Jul(#28)
Yeah worst case you would have got your money back eventually. I'm in the middle of dealing with that right now for an old motherboard that was basically doa. I got it to boot to bios like...once in 15+ tries. I told the seller it wouldn't boot at all because screw them, they sent me garbage.

The only way to really assure safe arrival for bigger things (this iMac is probably small enough to get safely) is to ship with a freight service which is balls expensive.

I've never had an iMac either. Didn't know it's capable of emulation. How well does it emulate?

DiamondDave
GameTZ Subscriber 350 Trade Quintuple Gold Good Trader Has Written 4 Reviews
* 25-Jul(#30)
My first emulation experience was The Legend of Zelda on a GB emulator for Macintosh! They had all the kids running around all the stations in the career center, I found the photo lab, found a mac, saw it had internet (T1 speeds!) and I went to fudging town.

These came out significantly after so I'm pretty sure they can handle early emulation. I'm sure it's not amazing but with a gig of RAM I have no doubt it'd have SNES and lower covered. But just think about it.

I meant, some programs are not compatible with Mac at all. Actually ALOT of programs lack a mac version, at least that was my experience in the earlier PC days.

My experience with this has been you might as well just buy them new. No one really even sells used copies and when it happens they generally aren't even much cheaper. I buy used almost exclusively but I bought almost all my Ghibli Blu-Ray new.
