new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Does it have all the neo geo arcade titles? And are they pretty faithful? That might be better than nes games since I can just play them on my nes I just have to find them first.

Mostly I'm hoping for Magician Lord, Crossed Swords (I think that's what it's called) and the first two Samurai Showdowns maybe World Heroes.

Thanks Lunar!

I have Elgato HD the older version with access to AV/YPbPr. But that was before I had the DVDO. Just plug the DVDO into the Elgato and everything plugged into the DVDO and you are set!

I use OBS for PC Streaming since my video card doesn't have Shadow Play.

Nah, it's far from the full library. They are just sprinkling a few here and there. None of them are particularly good games (Couple Fatal Furys, Couple Metal Slugs, Couple SamShos, A few KoFs, and a few shmups).

http://www.nintendo.com/games/game-guide/?pv=true#...

All of them cost $7.99 which to me is questionable if they are worth it or not:

Metal Slugs Anthology is $14.99 or cheaper on PSN.
Alot of these random fighters are cheap on other platforms (Steam, Xbox, GOG)
There are a few titles that aren't on other digital platforms as far as I know like Waku Waku 7 and Magical Drop II.

If you like SNK titles and want a good compilation, get the SNK Arcade Vol. 1 for PlayStation 2 or Nintendo Wii (Magician Lord, World Heroes, SamSho, Sengoku, Last Resort, etc) for only $20ish

Sengoku is my favorite neo game; nostalgically biased though because I grew up with that being in the local burger joint on the cab, played that, metal slug 1, baseball 2020, and puzzle bobble. 4 cart mvs. They would swap world hero's in now and then, but it never got played.

Mmmmmmmmm neo

Considering every Fatal Fury game but MotW is cheap, those probably aren't worth it. Old KoF games are pretty cheap too.

Agree about SNK Arcade Vol 1, that's a sound pick-up.

Thanks for posting this! I'll have to check out that Nintendo site list later my phone won't load it right now 😐

Yeah I've been wanting that compilation on wii or ps2 and a couple people posted copies on here over the last year but someone else always got before I had the available funds. I have read a couple reviews that said they really messed those games up though. Something about being glitchy as hell. Still want one of them though. (Probably ps2)

I need to check this wii out and make sure there aren't any special games on the hard drive too though 😉 Seems like a good project for today I've been putting it off way too long.

I think the reason USPS is going through all these fudge ups lately is because they are changing their warehouse/distribution route.

I've never seen this distribution center, now I see it in every tracking #.

Didn't realize how handy some of you are.

Here's a below $100 CDX auction, could go up though. But being that the CD side is faulty and door spring is busted I doubt it will go much higher.

Siiiiigh. Got a music CD bootleg from an Amazon seller. Not a Russian seller but the bootleg itself was made in Russia according to posters on a metal forum I asked about it on after I became very suspicious.

Yea, I was giving away Vol 1 and 3 GH lol. I have them digitally on PSN, collecting them is just for fun. I'll be patient with those.

GH looks out of place with the black labels.

I heart PlayStation and just realized I like that system better than most.

So I'm going EXTREME after this bootleg experience and just ordering directly from the record label in Germany. Getting the vinyl too because why not and it comes with the cd too.

@Lunar I find that for vintage systems gen v and back I mostly play PCE and Saturn. Almost exclusively. I had a great time with PS1 when I was younger but I pretty much beat most of the RPGs I wanted to back then and Saturn has almost all the same non-rpgs and is easier to cdr on.

$30. I'm surprised to see it even recognized.

I was going to stop by another store on my way home but their first post on Facebook was "This lot is headed to eBay, the good ones never last!" Uhh, guess I'm avoiding your store then.

I mostly played Saturn US library until only a few years ago that I dipped heavily into imports. So when they were both relevant, the PS1 easily won the shelf space since it had the better games and had more games.

@DefaultGen Well...screw that store. All the good crap goes straight to eBay? Really?

@Lunar Of course. I didn't even get into Saturn until I want to say around 2006 so it was long dead already. I played way more PS1 as a kid, but now Saturn is the system I prefer of the two.

I couldn't load the video since the Internet on my phone sucks during the day. But is there really only 3 stages or do you mean it's just the same stuff happening over and over again throughout the whole game?

Beat it. It's 4 stages. I feel like its one level pretty much with different skin and map. Bosses are simple and very easy.

Hey, my mom's the pharmacist at the Bethpage King Kullen. Be weird and say hi if you shop there.

I stopped by another crapty game store (Game On, somewhere in southern VA or northern NC) that was closer to my route instead. It's the same deal with all these places, Super nice, friendly, knowledgeable owner, crapty strip mall location, zero stock of good games. I don't know how these game stores get by with their stocks of Cartoon Network GBA games, Imagine Babyz DS games, and less than a dozen SNES/Genesis games combined. I always feel too bad to leave a bad review on Google because the owner is so nice. I'm not some collector complaining "Oh they have nothing I don't have", like how do you even run a retro game store if you don't have Super Mario World and Mario Kart 64 in stock?

@DefaultGen Yeah I've been to stores like that. The main one I go to is always well stocked with good crap, though the prices are a bit high here and there. Which probably helps keep good games in stock.

Tangent where I dog about people.

This is the same store I trade in a lot of junk to. It used to be that people could order off eBay/Amazon for a small fee added on. Factoring in the huge bonus for store credit and that for some stuff I was getting more credit than I'd net selling on eBay or here it was pretty worth it. I got some pretty sick hauls for garbage including the IFU + region modded Core that @Lunar now has, Soldier Blade (that you now have, lol) as well as lots and lots of physical PC games no one wants. You know, stuff that they are never getting in trade. So obviously, this was too good to last. People started ordering consoles that are triple digits to begin with to save like, $5-10 after it was all said and done. Like...fudging really? Of course that option had to be shut down, because they barely see any profit in those consoles, compared to ones they get in trade-in. So now I just pick up random cheaps there, and sometimes pre-order crap with credit.
