new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Cheap AliExpress fakes, prices out of control, people cornering the market on early 90s rare stuff. Hmm.

Cause Saturn is cool, it's going to be easier than 3DO, and is probably going to be more price-prohibitive to do it 5 or 10 years from now. I already completed the two sets I really care about, NES and SCD, so it's on to more quirky things.

I'm surprised you didn't mention lumines, that game is so much fun.

I just realized after I traded my psp copies that I had lumines live on an old 360 arcade compilation disc. That and geometry wars 2 (also sooo good but obviously it's a shooter) plus bomberman live, which maybe I'll get into later on but I wasn't liking it .....

Hmm, debating this:

You're receiving this mail as you registered your interest in purchasing a NeoGeo Pocket SD FLASH cartridge at RetroHQ. If you are still interested the cartridge costs 70 (UK pounds) with postage of 5 for international orders and 2 for UK orders. If you would like to order one, please let me know and I will send a PayPal invoice over to you - please specify if you are in the UK or not so I can apply the right postage.
The cartridge accepts FAT formatted micro SD cards up to 32GB in size (not included) to install games to the onboard 15MB FLASH storage and comes with an instruction leaflet detailing how to install and play games on the device.
All retail games which have been tested are fully working with the cartridge. Only one compatibility issue has been found in King Of Fighters when playing link play between a NeoGeo Pocket black and white unit with the NGPSD cartridge and a colour console with the original game. This results in a slowdown of gameplay in head to head fights, however there is a workaround for this issue and a full fix is being investigated.
If you need any help / support, please visit the support page at RetroHQ : http://www.retrohq.co.uk/support/neogeo-pocket-sd-...
Many thanks!

Is there that much more than $100 worth of popular NGP games? I have Cardfighters Clash, Neo Turf Masters, one of the Metal Slugs, SamSho and doubt I spent more than $50 on them.

Depending on what you want, I may be interested in the lot. I'm considering a Saturn set, and getting a ton of the commons together sounds good to help with shipping costs.

I was going to get it but after I sold you my Pocket in the steal thread I decided not to replace it. That reminds me I still have a copy of Metal Slug 1st Mission around here somewhere which should probably go to someone who can actually play it. :)

To any of you guys who go to conventions, how do prices on games generally go at those things? There is one in St. Louis area this weekend that I was pondering on visiting. I've never done a gaming convention, Lego yes, sports cards yes, comics yes, but no game cons. Figure pricing is high until late the last day like most other cons but wanted to get some feedback from those who have been to one.

I figured that was the case @Gypsy but yeah, meeting up with fellow collectors in the area would be the main reason to go. Also the Nintendo Playstation will be there on display, which I'd love to see and the guys from My Life in Gaming will be doing a panel. Couple other YouTuber's too as well as some small gaming tournaments, but I think it'd be a fun weekend for my son and I. Kinda last minute but I don't think it'll be a problem getting tickets/hotel room.

What kind of gaming tournaments? Any fighting game tourneys? And were you planning on entering anything? That was something I would have loved to do when Mortal Kombat 9 was still huge.

There aren't any "real" fighting game tourney's unfortunately but I might enter a couple of them for fun. They are doing Mario Kart 64, Star Fox weekend comp cart, Smash Melee, 1991 Nintendo Campus Challenge. Also a Final Fantasy trading card game and Magic the Gathering too but I don't know anything about those. Was thinking about doing Campus Challenge and maybe Melee, wasn't a huge Mario Kart 64 fan, if it was Diddy Kong Racing then I'd be all over that.

I've always found at least some decent deals regardless of size (decent usually being slightly below Ebay and not having to ship). There's always hilariously badly priced import guys and people selling $30-40 Aliexpress repros too. I like grabbing fragile Sega cases in person or dollar-bin Atari carts without having to ship. I need 3D Tic Tac Toe but I'm not paying more than a dollar for it, so until it shows up at a con I'm not buying it.

@dunno001, you're the third person to want those games but it was a poorly worded WTB list smile

The whole point is they know you already paid money to SEE them, of COURSE you're ready to get your wallet raped. It's part of the modern gaming experience! But HEY, look at this Dracula X, STILL SEALED, ONLY $500, DEFINITELY NOT A TOBIAS PCE-WORKS RIPOFF SPECIAL

I don't blame you there I prefer the arcade Mario Kart they had at Disneyland for a few years over any of the home versions I've played. I too loved Diddy Kong Racing way better than Mario Kart 64, I actually liked Mickeys Speedway better as well. But if I were there that would be the one I'd enter.

Now I'm going to have to look up campus challenge lol.

I can totally get behind paying slightly under eBay and buying dollar carts in person. Gotta love bootlegger guy (figuring that he can likely sell boots with impunity and hey once they are sold there are no returns, because it's a con) as well as overpriced import guy (because buying online is hard).

One of two stores that would actually price games at a dollar near me went oob, and the other one sucks in general but sometimes I check what they have in. Never buying any game worth more than $10 online there though, because lol prices.
