new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I don't think I've said "this is unreal." during an NG run this often. Usually smooth as butter all the way to Stage 6, awkward death or two, but the fudging SNES version always finds neat little ways to throw me off.

I legit forgot to hit the orb. rofl

ANYWAYS, never meant for that to be a full run, I REALLY fudging hate the SNES version. And apparently the dropped frames were the emulator's fault, not sure what was going on, everytime I alt tabbed back it'd run at 60fps again for about a minute and a half and then stop dropping every other frame. Fudging SNES9X. raspberry

I PROMISE, I AM MARGINALLY BETTER ON NES.

I rewatched my last run, I wasted so much time trying to get random items. I never meant for it to be a speedrun though.

I'll try the trilogy version once I beat that DunDoucheGue guy

Fixed my Scart HDMI converter. It was the Elgato causing issues. It seems my USB wire wasn't working properly so one i switched it out everything played nice together.

Ninja Gaiden Black has them as unlockables, I think.

I'm going to check gamefaqs to confirm this but that's a great solution if they are on there.

Hah, that's actually pretty cheap since the last time I picked it up. Spent ...$95 importing it I think? That was complete and this is one of those crap listings where they're like "MAYBE INSTRUCTIONS AND ARTWORK, MAYBE NOT! CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO LOOK, ROLL THE DICE jerk"

It's really not worth the price, at that point you'd be better off just getting an Everdrive (a PCE necessity if I'm being honest, it will fix your life)

Okay @Missile Ninja Gaiden (on Xbox) has all three of the nes games as unlockables it seems and Ninja Gaiden Black (on Xbox) has the Ninja Gaiden Arcade game unlockable on it so that's really cool. I guess I need a copy of each now although apparently those games are pretty difficult from what people are saying on gamefaqs and I had heard that a lot before so it's probably true.

Oh yeah, xbox ninja gaiden is brutally difficult, i've heard it said that black was so hard they had to fly in the developers to help play test the game because none of MS' testers could beat it.

Wow that's insane! Why even make the game that hard then? On the plus side one of the reviewers on gamefaqs said that Ninja Gaiden Black has so many extras to play through that you'll be busy for months doing everything.

So I watched until 5-3 I actually think it looks pretty good almost like they just added color to it and left it mostly as is but it did seem to be dragging when you were moving full speed to the other side of the screen. Oh and the cut scenes mostly look worse. And there was still flicker on 3-1 3-2 and 4-1 I think.

All in all there did seem to be a little slowdown at times but it did look really good and pretty responsive.

See, I had fleeting interest, and now I just want to throw up.

@BleedingViolet I promise I make that game look more responsive and okay than it is. Right from the get-go, imagine ...Super Mario World. You jump with the bottom most button and shoot fireballs with the left most button right? Almost every game follows this layout. Switch that around, bottom button now slashes and you gotta move to the right most button to jump. When looking at an NES pad it makes sense, when you've got your hands on the controller it feels super bad.

It looks like they couldn't figure out how to make the SNES do fades for stage-in or cutscenes, so that bit's bad, but if it at least didn't have to blink every scene change I could probably live with it, because the colors aren't... awful? But the music's terrible. It's all terrible. And the sound effects. Ugh

Idk I had a copy of the first one but didn't get into it ..... However everything I have read about them both say they are great and I feel bad for never giving it a real chance. I guess I could say that about 90% of the games I currently own.

I have too many games I will probably never play 😐

Edit: I had the first on og Xbox nevermind lol. I've never played or heard much about the 360 games D'oh

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of switching the buttons I'm used to but I still "want" to try it on Xbox I'm not saying I don't believe you at all I do. I'm surprised I can even get used to the nes version so quickly since I hadn't even played my nes in a month. But I have an ability to deal with terrible controls. I'm just hoping the lag isn't too terrible. And yeah that cheesy metal soundtrack .....

I dunno what Virtual Boys go for these days, but I see people proudly post "Just bought this VB for $150!" on social media and think the world has gone a little mad.

Speaking of spending money, I got this Saturn lot for ~$11 a game. Nothing crazy, but In The Hunt, Winter Heat, Sky Target, Lost World, and a few others I couldn't have realistically bought for under $20 shipped or so. No broken hinges on the cheapy stuff either. I'll take that any day.
