new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I added a Saturn, PS2, and train controller to my Yamatoku order and it seems like they overrode the $70 Wii game shipping. Pro tip if you guys ever buy a game from them with $70 shipping. I tried messaging them but due to the language barrier it was hopeless.

From my own experience you should be grateful that they replied at all, or faster than like a WEEK. Basically yeah I will echo the sentiment of you aren't going to have successful contact with them, bid at your own risk.

I prefer to sell as much to one person as possible. I am open to trades if you have items from my wanted list, something for the Switch, or some other irresistible temptation.

I've already had multiple serious inquiries, and I know everyone in this thread is a reliable buyer/trader pretty much. So yeah this thread rocks.

I'm down to trade too, but mainly for anime so that seems like a stretch. I'd also be fine with Amazon credit (at 90%) as payment.

I think I like to share games more than collect them (though some eyebrows may be raised at my HAL collection). I'm definitely at the "as long as it's legal" end of the collector spectrum. Not willing to pay $100s for certain games from my childhood, but if it hits eShop/PSN, count me in.

digital has definitely made it nice for games like suikoden 2 where a physical is triple digits and digital is like 5 bucks. suikoden 2, is available legitimately on psn, whereas another expensive game like tales of destiny 2 or Valkyrie profile is not, however you get or play these, the dev/pub gets nothing from it, only the used game store or ebay seller. emulating tales of destiny 2 and suikoden 2 without owning a copy aren't really apples to apples. but I am not trying to turn our RTT into an emulation discussion or the moral clauses therein, just stating a thought.

Valkyrie profile is a particularly nasty crapshoot too because of how the disc was made, it's much more fragile than the average ps1 game.

Destiny II and VP are available on PSP. In the case of VP a slight content downgrade but it's like $10 soooooo.

true, but not at retail or psn, so its still only a benefit to the secondary market is what I mean. there is no "legit" way to get these games "new" or from a way that benefits the dev/pub.

there are still psp games on there, you can dl them to a vita, and I guess you could dl to a ps3 or pc then put them on a psp? but a search on the psn store doesn't turn up either of those titles, but plenty of other stuff is on there.

Well, Tales was an EU only title so it wouldn't show up on US PSN. Just thought about that. But...it's probably not available digitally anymore anyway. Still a bunch cheaper than a PS1 copy though and PSP w/ ypbpr out looks pretty damn good on a mid size HD CRT. Doesn't support the companies involved but at least you aren't breaking the bank.

Yea, I gave a neutral rating. It's stupid to try to save a buck within the CONUS to try to envelope and first class.

Even with careful packing in a box, you can get the package under 16 oz. for the first class option.

The real problem is that it's so "easy" to sell stuff on eBay. eBay wants it to be super easy so it draws people in. So then you have people selling stuff who literally have no idea about what it is they are selling. Remember those GITS dvd sets I got that were so badly packed the cases broke? That seller mostly sold clothing and jewelry, so yeah. It's even more of a problem with LaserDisc players, I'm not even going to get into that too much but imo it's worth paying a slight premium to get a player from a person that actually knows what players are good, what's fully working and what isn't, plus they will know how to actually pack a LaserDisc player.

I have a standard note I add to every order on ebay that requests a "secure boxed shipment" so that it doesn't get damaged in shipping. Can't tell you how many boxed GBA games I have received in a bubble mailer. Each time it happens with that statement in the notes, I've gotten a full refund from ebay no hassle, no fuss. Makes me sad to see one less game in nice shape get lost due to just plain laziness or to save a few pennies.
