Lol you guys have to realize I've been playing Castlevania games for what? Almost 30 years now?!?
And I'm not the biggest fan of "symphony of the night" (lol 😉 ) and I have played 100s of hours of so many different Castlevania games.
Plus I liked Castlevania 64 better. It really was fun to me. But I am used to liking less popular sequels of games more than more popular ones. Everybody used to tell me how much better snes Castlevania was than Castlevania 1and 3 and I knew which ones I liked best and it wasn't super Castlevania 😉. It's weird when people try to tell you which one is best lol when you have played and passed all three of them. I even liked rondo of blood better than sotn and I didn't even realize that was the name of the other game I was playing on psp. I'm just more into old school platformers than new school ones. And when I looked up the psp Dracula X chronicles to make sure I had indeed played rondo of blood it said there were two other hidden Castlevania games in there aside from sotn that I hadn't even played! D'oh d'oh d'oh!!!
This is what I get for being so old school and wanting to pass games on my own with my own strategies and not looking up every secret online. I think I may have traded that psp game to Lunar or Dashey I can't even remember now. D'oh!
But yeah to me sotn was okay it was not my favorite Castlevania ever or the best. Castlevania on the snes was equally as average to me as sotn. I might even like Simons quest more but that was my least favorite on the nes which isn't to say any of those games suck, they're still Castlevania (one of my favorite series ever) so automatically I like them more than other games almost by default, but compared to other Castlevania games yeah they are the least interesting and/or fun to me. When I first started Sotn again on psp I found myself trying to rush through it because I was actually starting to get bored and I wanted to see if I could open up new characters or stages if I passed it. I don't usually get bored playing Castlevania games ..... If you guys wanna raise a banner and talk about how great those two games are feel free I've played them for way too many hours on end and still don't like them as much as the others. I know exactly what I'm talking about and I find them far less fun than even Castlevania 1. It could be just the controls or the enemies or the play style or the difficulty I really don't know why I'm not as into those two games, I didn't even realize people were so into snes Castlevania still. Maybe I like snes Castlevania better than Simons quest but not sotn idk.
Okay sorry for the long post but I sometimes don't know if you guys get that not everyone has the same favorites. Maybe me telling you guys Castlevania 1 is so much better than sotn is the equivalent of someone telling me Mortal Kombat 1 or 3 or even trilogy is better than Mortal Kombat 2 (which is the best in the series aside from mk9 it's not even close) I'm not sure that you guys get that sotn isn't all that to me. Sure there's some cool new elements to it and I love the rpg aspect of it but didn't Simons quest also have similar things and everybody kind of hated it?
Which reminds me does anyone wanna trade me a copy of nes Simons quest? I haven't played it in forever and with all this Castlevania talk I would like to again. Also I don't have any copies of sc4 on snes so I might want that too eventually it's not as high of a want because it's way too expensive when there are way better games in the series for way less. And I'm still not really wanting to play that one again. But if I had an snes Classic I'd probably start playing that before any other games.
You know I liked Super Mario 3 and especially 2 way more than I liked Super Mario World as well if you wanna tell me how you can't even fathom that either lol. Or Zelda 2 better than snes Zelda? Or Street Fighter 2 turbo (or hyper fighting or whatever) better than any other entry that I've played in the entire series? I also have yet to spend any real time playing final fantasy, super smash brothers or Pokemon. I've never played more than a half hour of any individual call of duty game lol.
Okay this post is way too long. But I just don't like things JUST because everyone else does. That's stupid! I just like what I like just like everyone else does.
