new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

@DiamondDave Finished the original Mobile Suit Gundam last night. I'm with you I don't think I'd rewatch it. I will probably try the movies at some point to see how they compare. Has long anime problems where there are stretches of next to nothing happening but then the last 6 or so episodes everything is cranked up to 11 to finish it.

Going to start 08th MS Team at some point today.

I think half the reason I love 08th MS Team is that it allows itself to be as long as it needs to be to tell its story and then it's like "Fudge it, I'm out. Peace, dog~"

Also the gorgeous animation.

Will be interested to see what you think. I have been debating if it's worth learning to play tekken all over again with a stick after Playing pad since tekken 2/3. Don't want to drop big money on a qanba or something if I decide better off sticking to what I know. Tekken is a game too that even the games elite players online tend to agree that until you get to very highest levels..like Korea level, that stick doesn't have that big an advantage over pad. 5 of the top 8 American players at the last Evo for tekken were pad.

Got a lot of watchers almost immediately... hm! May actually sell. Send me an offer for a bit less to take it off my hands, or watch it escape your reach forever! I'll give you a bonus that the eBay kiddos don't get: What else comes with it!

Throwing in Excalibur 2555AD, Atari Anniversary Edition Redux, and a copy of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain that needs a resurface I guess, didn't work for the gentleman I had traded it to earlier.

I was really tempted to buy all this crap and the system but recent expenditures just raped my fun money.

And btw I even tried that Legacy of Kain in multiple PS1s I have that I know work well. Not sure what the deal was.

I can't comment too much on the Super Nintendo since I haven't fully completed too many of the popular games.

Super Metroid, Castlevania IV, SMRPG...But I guess Super Mario World needs to be on it.

The games I played alot are some lowly games like Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Mortal Kombat II, Super Street Fighter II....

Anyone interested in some SNES Bitboxes? No games, just the clamshells that Stone Age Gamer sells. Can ship you 13 for $25, that'd normally cost around $50-60, they're kinda pricey.

Or, if you prefer your SNES Bitboxes to be stuffed, I do have two cases in particular that have games IN them... Super Metroid with the SFC cart, and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island with the Hyundai Super Comboy SFC-shelled English (official Nintendo-release product!) game with a US manual inside. $50 shipped. $70 total for 11 Bitboxes and these two!

Of which fan translations do you speak? There's a couple snes home brews of Zelda and Mario on Amazon I've had on my wanted list for awhile. They're aren't cheap but I like things most people have never played. But feedback from someone who has played tons of games and knows what they're talking about always helps with these decisions.

Idk about mighty morphin power rangers but the other two are far from lowly, not a lot of people can appreciate fighting games anyways.

Never apologize for liking what you like. MK2 and SF2 Turbo are two of the best games released on snes. I don't remember if I played too much of ssf2 on snes I think I was a little busy with MK2 when we got SSF2 or maybe we just rented it. Plus I preferred the gameplay sf2 turbo kinda still do lol.

Anyways I could do maybe a top 5 to top 10 on Snes but on Nes that list would be way bigger.

But the four easiest ones that are obvious since I talk about them sometimes are

Mortal Kombat 2
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Donkey Kong Country 2
Super Mario All Stars

I'd add Ren and Stimpy FireDogs to make it an actual top 5.

There's many others but I can't remember liking as many Snes games as much as my favorite Nes games. So liking them and calling them favorites isn't as easy.

I thought about mentioning Uniracers and Rock and Roll Racing too but they might also be more of a top ten or a top 20. I'm sure there's a ton of others I forgot to list also. But those two are definitely fun.

GBA is a fun one. There are a lot of goofy GBA games. However my list will be boring.

Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones
SRW OG
SRW OG 2
Aria of Sorrow

GBA is a strategy beast. Genre plays well on it. The Advance Wars games are solid too.

What kind of backwards crap is this?

I bought a Japanese PlayStation Namco Museum set from someone on NA, it was missing a really common volume 3, so I was thinking I'll just pick that up separately.

Went to check ebay: Namco vol 3 US version = $3. Japanese? $20+?

WTF?

Ok top 5 Super Nintendo time. Even though I do own some of these on later portables I will list them here since this is where they originated. Some RPG gems of all time on the Super Nintendo indeed.

Earthbound
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy II (4)
Secret of Mana
Shadowrun

There are so many others but if I had to list 5 that hit me the hardest. With the most memorable music, characters, game design, story. It would be these. I mean I had to leave out masterpieces like Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy III.

I love FFIII. But I played FFII so many times. That first 10 or so hours of the game is engraved into me brain and gives me special feels. It was my first big RPG where I was so impressed with the music, characters. etc. You could say it was the game that made me fall in love with RPGs.

Duo R's the best of everything other than aesthetics. Super CD-ROM cards are awful priced, though if you get a Rev2.2X+ of the Everdrive and a patched ROM for the Super 3.0 System Card you basically won't have to remove the Everdrive... ever. Unless you buy an Arcade card, which is also stupid priced, but it can't be spoofed yet.

Yes, I have tried both the Famicom and NES N8 which work fine. The 8bitdo wireless adapters do work fine with the console but there is just enough lag there to make them unusable for me on most games. I will also say that both the wireless adapater and regular controller plugs on port 1 are very tight.

Must be the @DiamondDave influence. Not that I even disagree. Some people do get enjoyment out of the actual collecting aspect. I've always been willing to download and do a lot of collecting and playing now. Back when I was in school and had no money I had huge stacks of PS2 and Dreamcast burns. I have a stupidly large PS2 collection now (not even all listed on my collection here) and I pretty much got rid of all the burns but these days my Saturn and PCE burn stacks are growing. It's great to explore the libraries of these two systems without dropping the inane amounts of money it would require.

I'm not sure which games save to the console and which save to the cart, I just presume cart saves wouldn't work as the game code would be looking for a memory bank on the card which wouldn't exist. RPG's were my obvious concern.

Yeah, but the system battery backed RAM is what holds the save data. HuCard games used the Tennokoe, not sure if TED spoofs that or not.

I get it now, only the CD's save to the internal bank and the cards (that support save) don't use this method at all? So if cards only save to the card itself then those games likely won't have save support when using the everdrive?

IIRC only the Rom/Ram stuff has that kind of capability, so things like the Tennokoe bank and, maybe, populous.

I wasn't actually looking into this exact issue, but I did see the answer to this question earlier tonight.

Nintendo of America required more than games to be licensed. The crash of '83 caused more restrictions from NoA, one of which was that only Nintendo would make carts. This was not the case in Japan (hence the variety of cases). But, this also meant that many of the extra chips were not supported by NoA, including Konami's VRC2 chip. Having to rely solely on Nintendo's mappers (or, really, lack of them) resulted in quite a bit being cut out of the US release of Contra. Not just animations, but whole cut scenes, an overworld map, and a few other things.

Maybe localization took offense to people saying NG2 was easier than NG1. Still seems like odd tweaks to make for the US market in general, I'd assume they thought we were worse at games than they were.

Time for an embarrassing list, would be interested to hear stuff you keep going back and forth on.

Systems I To This Day Could Not Justify Keeping for More Than Six Months Before Getting Rid Of

NES Classic
Nintendo Switch (still have)
Wii U (still have)
Nintendo 3DS/XL/N3DS XL/2DS XL
PS4
Xbox One

I think I mighta held onto a 3DS in one form or another for a bit more than a year, but soon as I'm done playing what I'm playing it's gone. Wii U, I may have kept for more than a year but the speed in which I flipped the rest out definitely makes up for it.

I would want to keep all of those.
I think it's more embarrassing that you keep things when so many things "seem" to displease you so much.
I get it you're kinda jaded about all the garbage that keeps getting mass produced and we are getting robbed blind for but at the end of the day none of us "need" any of these systems. They are supposed to be fun and when they're not, if you can get something for them that you want more I say go for it.

Since we are sharing though I do have a couple of ps3s I never play. I know I will I just need to get the apartment organized. One of them needs to be fixed and the other has yet to be tried out. That is actually kind of embarrassing.

I'm thinking the Switch is gonna turn around very quickly, from what I've seen, but CURRENTLY it's still a really expensive way to play some of my favorite pixel games and Zelda. But since the sales don't seem to be a fad and fade, it looks like third party developers are at least scratching their ass in the direction of making stuff for it, so maybe we'll see some good stuff.

Wii U, great core games, I just don't play 'em enough to justify keeping them. Hell, more than half the reason I picked this one up was to play Sonic Boom, and that was mostly for the memes (and the fact that the cartoon's surprisingly watchable). 3DS, usually 1-2 games out a year I wanna play, then I'm done. Same with PS4/XBO, though I've only had one XBO (roommate's got his but it's literally a streaming box). This year was really good for PS4 but the tipping point was Nier Automata, and that's available on PC so other than missing out on Yakuza 0 and Nioh, not much to miss there. Played Persona 5, enjoyed it, sent everything on its way immediately.

Honestly the only reason I keep the PS3 is because I NEED a Bluray player and something to watch Hulu from, and it's convenient. It's got the best combined library and even that I rarely wanna play.

Frankly I think this is good. Don't really want or need $1800 worth of crap just sitting around doing nothing, best to play it and let it go.

You guys know I love jaguar and I still have my original one that I bought used as well as my original jaguar cd that I bought brand new.

I am definitely interested but I gots no available funds right now. I guess if you wanted to wait till maybe November I could buy it from you but I gotta ask, what games did you not like on it? I even liked (maybe loved not sure) iron soldier on it which is a giant robot destroying towns mech game. But to each their own, again I still got it in 95 and the only console I had besides that was a Genesis that I have no idea what happened to that. So I have fond memories because I loved playing Doom, AVP, Ultra Vortek, Theme Park, Val d'isere ski and snowboard, and a bunch of others. Maybe it's because it was before PlayStation but even after we got a ps1 I was still playing Jaguar and Jaguar cd ALL THE TIME.

I have tons of stuff to trade but we could talk about it later if no one else offers anything more interesting first.

Well to be fair i only have club drive and nba jam te but i cant see dropping more money to expand my library. Nba jam te is nice but i cant justify keeping it when the 32x version is like 99% as good. I just cant wrap my head around the controller. Feels okay to hold but horrible to play with.

So I finally beat Ninja Gaiden again 😊

I'd been trying for a little while but I'm kinda glad I had to beat stages 6-1 through 6-3 so many times. I'm pretty sure if I worked a little more on the last three bosses I could probably figure out a way to beat them ..... Maybe in a row? Those three stages aren't as invincible as they were last month. And they are kinda fun to almost fly through now. I blame Castlevania for sharpening my skills to a point where Ninja Gaiden is much easier for me now. I wonder if I'll play these every year now or wait another 25 years (lol yeah right) to reminisce about how great games can actually be.

But yeah I've always liked the free flowing feeling of this game I feel invincible at times even without the fire shield lol. And it's so much fun, I still think it's easier than Castlevania but I love them both. I didn't even remember anything about the first two phases of the last boss but the last one lol idk why I remember that one so well. It's like they lifted everything from Konami when they made this game right down to the Contra inspired final formation, WTF Tecmo?!? But thank goodness they did this game is effing great all the same. They took a lot of ideas from Konami games and implemented them very well into a brand new game.

Well if you want I could send you a couple of games to borrow so you don't have get rid of it without at least trying some of the unique titles (not club drive lol I didn't like that one either but one day I will try to play it again).

I could let you borrow Ultra Vortek and AVP since those two games versions are only on jaguar. I might have iron soldier also. Let me know.

I know some of them are expensive like Towers 2 but it was released after the jaguar wasn't being supported anyways. So they didn't make a ton of copies. And yes some of the jag cd games are pretty expensive but like most systems there's no point in collecting every game anyways. The games will just sit there. Especially if they aren't as good as other games.

Let me know if you change your mind sir.

And if you still decide to get rid of it I'll be interested for sure. Both of my controllers were damaged in storage so I figure it would be just as cheap to get a whole nother jaguar anyways.

Anyone in on the Socks the Cat Kickstarter? We just got a multiple page update about how someone involved with the project's family member died to explain delays. Here's just a taste.

> I walked into my mothers livingroom, and she didn't recognize me or know who I was. She had fallen and couldn't get up, and she was beyond disoriented. Have you ever walked into your parents home only to see them not know who you are? Do you know what that feels like? Just think about it for a moment. The strongest woman you had ever known, is frail, in incredible pain, and have no clue who you are? If you think you've ever felt heartbreak, think again. I played a few games on Wii U. I don't know if I'll be playing anything on it any time soon but I also don't see the point in selling it. I'd rather have it around in case I want to play it than deal with buying another one especially since I know this one is in perfect working order and the gamepad is in good shape. Now, if I NEEDED money, it'd probably be one of the first things to go.

Actually that brings up an interesting topic. What would be the last system(s) you would sell?

"Systems I To This Day Could Not Justify Keeping for More Than Six Months Before Getting Rid Of"

For me it has been PCE stuff for sure, mainly thinking I'd never need use it enough to justify it given the systems I was collecting for back in the day. Then I slowly made my way through the stuff I always wanted and started running out of things to collect for, but I'm still going back and forth on this one. Do I, don't I. The last month or so it's been yes, but I'm still wavering.

NeoGeoPocket - this one finally left the nest earlier this year as I found myself not taking it out to play hardly at all. I enjoyed collecting for the system but it just didn't make sense to continue as the games were mostly shelf pieces at best.

Dreamcast - again, gave up on it long ago as I wanted to focus on Nintendo. This one was probably the console I owned for the shortest time by far. Not that it was bad or anything, I simply didn't have a good way to find games nor did it drive me to collect for like my other consoles.

PS2 and OG Xbox - I never made it past a couple dozen games on these and couldn't justify keeping them around any longer. Dropped them about the time I finally decided to get a Wii.

Atari 2600/5200 - These took forever to finally remove from my collection. Kinda feel the need to play them once or twice a year but other methods won out over keeping the actual consoles/games around. Still have a few games I should probably donate to someone to get rid of the last of it.

These all lasted a lot longer than 6 months but in the end weren't getting enough use to justify keeping them around.

I set out to beat one game for each actual piece of hardware I own this year. I"m not quite half way through, but I think I can finish by the end of the year. If not, I won't start any game until I get through all of my consoles. Its been fun and got me to dust some stuff off.

The system i play the least is my 2600/5200, but I do poke around on the every few weeks or months.

For PC I have a Win 95 machine that was new in box essentially when it was given to me a few years ago. I use it for DOS and Win 95. It fires up in like 20 seconds and is ready to rock. The hard drive simply hasn't spun that much.

I have a Win XP machine from 2004, but it runs pretty crappy. So does my 2008 PC. I need to probably get rid of those two and get a new modern one. I just haven't done a lot of PC gaming the past 5 years.

Well I usually only actually play one system at a time so whatever I'm playing that day is what I'm playing the most and every other of my 20 to 40 other systems are tied for the least played. I haven't turned on the jaguar maybe in the longest mostly because the controls are broken. What's the point if I can't actually play games?

Idk what system I couldn't get rid of ..... Maybe Xbox 360 but I'm attached to all of them really. I do have multiples of several systems though that I was getting to pass on to friends. So technically any extra system is not necessary. I guess out of the systems I have that I could get rid of easiest would be my broken 3do since I know I can't fix it. The n64 that I bought for a dollar as-is however I'm slowly gathering all the missing components so I might be able to salvage it and play some full screen Diddy Kong racing 😍

My first dreamcast wasn't brand new I don't think but it may have been and it sure as hell wasn't day one. But it's one of the only systems I went to buy at gamedude lol, I also bought that 1 dollar n64 there too this year.

I think I may have bought my second dreamcast there too.

But it is one of the most fun systems I've had. I've been meaning to set it up again soon to play some Mortal Kombat Gold or Railroad Tycoon, if I still had a keyboard I'd be playing Typing of the Dead, probably one of the coolest weirdest games nobody really seems to care about.

Definitely just the price thats keeping me gated. I can't justify paying that much if i can't even pull off a simple 3 hit combo in SFV. the mini hori stick is getting a lot of great reviews, saying super value for the money. a couple have said its only 39.99 though but amazon has it at 48 which i thought was odd. demand might just be high with all these fighters comin out right now.

my thing is tekken rather than street fighter, and there isn't nearly the difference in pad/stick in tekken as there is in SF, but im wanting to give it a try and see if its an improvement, im thinking some of the moves will be more fluid, Korean backdashing is easier on stick and on extended sessions my left thumb gets pretty sore. id love to find something wireless as wired isn't going to work well for me due to the way my consoles are set up. as seen here, https://gametz.com/General/show-console-media-room...
i guess i could move the ps4 down below the tv and move that second ps3 up... hmmm. if the cord was long enough i could always run it around the side i guess.

i will try and edit this in a minute with a review i found of these two very sticks compared. both are solid they say and quite serviceable and a great way to try stick before moving on to something fancier if you decide you are gonna use it a ton. i don't know id ever want to spend the money on a mad catz TE or obsidian dragon but maybe one day a good deal on a rap4 or something if i decide to become a stick fighter.

and ya just as good on the FC4 :P

Okay goshdarnit @sharif or whomever I just started ninja Gaiden 1 at 12:22pm and beat the final boss at 1:04pm both today both my time I skipped all the cut scenes though. If you're doing a speed run do you need to play out all the cut scenes within the speedrun while you're recording it or what?

(And no I didn't record it) (and of course I used spin slash and started back at 6-1 2 extra times)

I have no way to properly record a speed run but I'm sure I can do better time. Unless I need to be recording the cut scenes the final ending scene just ended at 1:10 my time.

You can skip cutscenes for a speedrun. The run ends as soon as you kill the demon.

What was Dugongues time on Ninja Gaiden again? I might tell Lunar my secrets for 6-1 - 6-3 so he can bump him off lol.

If I wasn't so sloppy and in such a rush I could have gotten through those 3 sub stages without taking a hit maybe.

Also @sharif what's the world record on the speedrun site?

I'm pretty sure his "speed runs" are basically the first or second time of him playing through the game, just recorded.

A bunch of his runs got removed from speedrun.com, including his Ninja Gaiden run. The slowest run currently on the board is 20:46, which is still very doable to someone with enough NG experience.

Were you trying to pass it without any advice or walkthroughs? I keep hearing that's the only way to succeed, I'm not a god gamer either, but I did remember all the stuff I had to look up as a kid. As it turns out there are way easier (or cheaper idk) ways to beat most of Castlevania.

Some of which I was kinda figuring out before I saw a speed run to death before I was like nope I'm not gonna watch the last stage. I had already beaten it again but there are a few simple things to kinda cheat your way through. Not really but it saves almost no time from what I had already tried. It is easier though once you know how. The ease he killed bosses though, I couldn't replicate that if I tried lol. It was better than spin slash easy against the grim reaper. It made me want to forget I had ever seen it so it wouldn't remind me how awful I am at Castlevania.

I beat NG totally blind and played Castlevania blind. Watching speedruns rarely helps me actually play the game casually myself. I know in CV keeping the cross makes most bosses trivial, but I can never keep any subweapon for that long.

Wow, NG3 is ridiculous. I doubt I'm going to beat this but maybe it will click eventually. So each stage is divided into multiple screens. In the other NGs (and on Famicom) when you die without continuing you start on the same screen. Here it sends you back to the beginning of the stage. You really can't fudge around.

lots of what ive read said it definitely is an adjustment and can take some time depending on how much time you have to play, ive heard 3-6 months in some cases, as you having to retrain yourself how to "feel" the moves etc.

lol, I know for tekken its 1 = left punch, 2 = right punch, 3= left kick and 4=right kick, not sure for Capcom stuff, maybe light/heavy punch on top and light/heavy kick on bottom? on the hori it has them labeled with X Circle Square Triangle like they would be on a controller, should be able to see in the link I had a couple posts ago, I will have to see if the qanba drone does the same labeling.

edit the drone does have the button labeling
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

I think you confirmed my fears on the mini, I will wait til I can order the drone, if I love and decide to move up to a rap 4 or higher level qanba later can always keep the drone as a backup or sell to offset the cost of the move up.

What's everyone's take on repro NES/SNES carts? I've been building up my NES collection lately and I'm trying to decide if I should go "down this road" of repros. Generally I think it's unnecessary but in some instances I'm considering in buying the repro cart for games that never came out in NA such as Moon Crystal or Holy Diver ... or even Mr Gimmick with the audio expansion. Thoughts?

Also is OCD still the best for this? It would be nice to find a good place in Canada, but not finding anything.

If you're gonna buy two repro carts, why not just buy an Everdrive? That's not even emulation.

Please don't take offense to this as I'm making a general statement and not pointing fingers, but if you can somehow manage to convince yourself that something that you KNOW is completely fake and illegitimate when you pay for it is "good enough" or worse, "just like owning the real thing", your primary problem is that you're a fudging moron. Like, if you want to just play the game, that's fine, get an Everdrive. Emulate. Do anything but pay $40 for a bad-quality bad-for-your-system PCB stuck in a fake shell with a fake sticker because you like the way it looks.

Rarely, and I mean super rarely a bootleg anime isn't completely pointless. Like maybe it's something that was never brought over, the Japanese dvds are impossible to find (not to mention not subbed) and you can't really find it to dl/torrent online. I still wouldn't go out of my way to buy one, but if I saw it for like 50 cents...

Meanwhile for Macross DYRL I'll live with my fansubbed Blu-Ray rip that I torrented. I know some people would say WELL YOU JUST CAN'T WATCH THIS but they can fudge off. I'd buy DYRL day 1 if it ever got a US Blu-Ray

It won't.

Edit: Hell I'd even buy a Japanese release if it had English subs.

For a long time I wanted to get one of the repro NWC carts with the switches. I never ended up getting one, but I am not sure if there is another way to play this without spending a ton of money.

The Sega Saturn version came out after the PlayStation and has more levels and additional playable characters. But, it's also an inferior port, graphically speaking. I believe the Microsoft Xbox One is a copy 'n' paste of the PlayStation original; though, I'm not 100% sure on that.

You will be. The only downsides to the Saturn version are lack of an English version and load times. But the existence of Maria mode, extra areas and items, and the 3rd hand in the inventory (for healing items only) more than make up for any problems.

Well to be honest I probably wouldn't have felt the "need" for current gen either other than Mortal Kombat X.

The only reason I would need a PS4 is for the virtual reality games. I've wanted some sort of virtual reality ever since they were first talking about it over 20 years ago. I have an Xbox One and it's a great system but so is every other system I have ..... well maybe.

I still gotta get injustice 2 for Xbox One if anybody is trading it. Not looking to break the bank to buy it otherwise I'd just go to Target or Amazon. But I would wanna trade for it for sure.

Well it is kinda repulsive that these nerds keep eye boning each other over gaming abilities, but they're also getting paid to get and keep people interested. As gross as it is if they weren't enthusiastic about whatever crap or game tournaments etc they happened to be peddling they would just find some hot girl who could fake it and look better doing it.

I say whatever keeps good games relevant and rolling out of factories is a good thing and almost forgivable considering our current youths tiny fickle attention spans.

Welcome to the internet friend, some people literally have nothing better to do than what was witnessed in that dog piling of a comment section.

I say if he's having fun go for it. I cannot tell you how many times I still make the same mistakes in platformers like Super MeatBoy, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden and other games like Kalimba on Xbox One. But it IS a learning process.

People on the Internet are just trolls usually. It has nothing to do with gamers. I have try hard not to talk trash to people because the negativity literally makes me wanna beat the mother fudge out of the guys talking all that crap. I have manic depression which can be completely debilitating at times and yet I treat my fellow humans as good as I can within reason. These guys (and some girls) for whatever reason can only get their kicks from hating other people and feeling somehow superior to someone else. It's literally sickening to me.

Idk maybe it's a normal human trait I just never developed and I'm missing out somehow. But even though some of what these people said was accurate and/or funny dare I say, it's still steeped in some coward sheep mentality that I will never truly understand.

Ugh ..... People just suck y'all 😞

It's kind of always been like this, whatevers out now and isn't selling is going in a bargain bin like it was a manufacturing defect.

People at game stores will literally warn you "are you sure you want this?" And I'm like are you sure you want my money?

And yes some of this stuff MIGHT be worth money but game manufacturers have caught on to the retro market. They are rereleasing EVERYTHING that they just sold you a lot of on the last console you just owned before this one so they don't lose all that cash on their IPs in future land. There was a copy of Dead Island collection in that online cheapie bin lol. But we keep buying it until they cant sell it to us anymore.

Well that One Piece was pretty bad to me so that price makes sense. Played the demo both at the store and against my cousin and at times I didn't really care about the controls & some of the characters felt extremely broken & overpowered compared to others.

Also, PS4 and it's controller L3 problem (that I'm starting to suffer from now after having the system for only a few months) may also be helping decrease the sale of some of the newer games because some maybe getting new controllers instead of trying certain games. Though for me I'm going to try and fix it but having the controller messing up this quick, annoys me. Especially since I usually like XBOX more last gen(had less game crashes and I liked the interface) but this time I went with PS first this time. Enjoying it for the most part, been playing Warframe alot recently which is how I noticed the controller issue though it had some awkward game crashes and it seems they overcomplicated some things. I'll still probably pick XBOX ONE at some point still.

Lol of course I do my sister said I got ripped off. But I love Beauty and the Beast and it was a price you had it listed for in the classifieds. I wasn't going to ask you to lower it when we never even talked before.

I never even looked up the going price on it until my sister told me that. But really who cares I saw that price and I was the one who contacted you. So it's on me that I wanted it before someone else bought it lol. Plus helping out fellow gametz users in need of cash is what we all should try to be doing if it's possible and the other person is in need of it.

I really only regretted the trade after my sister said that. She literally made me feel like an idiot. That was the only reason I ever thought it wasn't a good deal. But it's fine with me now. No worries 😊

After watching that guy dying on Cuphead for 26 or so minutes I think I need that game myself actually.

I've had copies of witcher and uncharted games that I've never even played because I hadn't gotten to them yet. I could however see myself playing Cuphead immediately after downloading it though. That game is like artwork the music and the static like a record playing, is all really cool.

I hope that game is as hard as that guy made it seem though I would like to be able play it over many different days and still have new levels to playthrough 😉

I feel bad for that guy though, he didn't deserve all that snotty criticism ..... No one does.

He writes reviews about games. Everyone likes what they like. His job title about reviewing games is based on his personal opinion of whether or not he likes the game he is reviewing.

While I understand some gaming proficiency being necessary to some people it's not essential to ones enjoyment of said game. I love games but so do my nephews and all kinds of other people who aren't in our demographic of gaming proficiency. I'm not good at first person shooters but I'll whoop most people's a$$es in Mortal Kombat 9 but I'm still not the best or worst at MK9 or COD.

What those people said in the volume that they said it was just typical internet nerd bullying. These are the types of guys I used to protect in school and now here they are being bullies themselves.

Don't get me wrong that video wasn't easy to sit through but the comments underneath? Screw those douchebags. I can't condone that type of behavior no matter what and it's just ..... A sign of the times I guess. This is only getting worse unfortunately. It's hard to remain positive when even videos about things like meditation and ASMR have all kinds of weird hateful comments. Like I said in an earlier comment this is not just video gamers that are a$$holes on the Internet it's pretty much everywhere. I wanna say it's the political climate but it's not just that either.

Anyways I didn't see the guys response video maybe I should see what kind of snotty things he said in retort before I continue to condemn all those angry trolls for what they commented.

To be fair, for full context he MOSTLY writes about game companies and tech. He's only written 26 stories about games out of his thousands about other topics, and he was the only person at that conference to get gameplay, which he knew was awful and Gamesbeat literally threw up online as a meme/jokes, which someone took completely out of context, which at THAT point became viral. Because it's easy to get pissed off at someone for playing a game poorly if you're under the impression that this guy's set to review the game, which he wasn't.

He plays FPS games mostly. Even he knew he screwed up majorly right from the start where he didn't read the stupid screen.

It's annoying. Sometimes I'll check when stuff doesn't have a price on it. Never know when someone will want an okay price and just didn't list the price because who knows. However if someone starts the bullcrap dance or starts above eBay, I'm out immediately just no time for that, there will always be another copy. And I also keep track of bullcrap users here so I don't even waste my time with the first pm. You can imagine how that list looks.

Uncharted 4 is my favourite RPG because it doesn't have any RPG elements.

Fudge no, if I can plow through NG1 and 2 without states, I'm not beating CV1 with them.

Cuphead as game of the month? If not October(DG might have some others in mind), then November.

I don't consider Zelda RPG either, never have, more action/adventure to me.

I see where @sharif is going with what he is saying though, the big majority of them are rpgs and rpgs aren't for everyone. those games have transcended most of the others this gen for me, so they are what came off the top of my head. and there are a lot of remakes and remasters out there I get it.

I think I may have to backpeddle a bit here. Initially, I mentioned that Cuphead (Xbox One) was the only current or upcoming release that could pull me into this generation of video games. Well, I did a little wandering on YouTube last night, came across this here, and I'm very happy to retract that initial statement...very happy! grin

Does anyone want to buy Suikoden I and II for PS1 for $150 shipped? II is complete, I is disc only, both the seller says are in excellent condition, but I'm going to say good because I haven't seen them in person and would have to doublecheck. Let me know ASAP trying to do a quick flip because my money is all invested in other stuff so I can't keep these.

I made it to 7-2 in NG3. I can get through the first 5 acts squeaky clean now, 6 is still a clusterfudge. Not sure how I'm going to beat the 3 final bosses yet with whatever precious health I have remaining if I get through Act 7. @DiamondDave can you actually beat this crap?

@Lunar Cuphead is neither retro nor horror themed frown

Haven't tried really, I'll have to give it a swing when I get pissed off at CV1 and quit.

NG3 is great because it will quit for you if you suck too much. I keep pressing start to play again half because the soundtrack is so good though.

There's a few jams on it but largely I think I apprecaite NG1/NG2's soundtracks a bit more, snares were tighter

But NG1-3 definitely brought it in the tunes category, made the games much more enjoyable than they had any right to be I think

I'm genuinely curious. How is a run 'n' gun-styled shoot 'em up with heavy emphasis on boss battles not considered a retro-themed throwback? I can totally get that it's not horror-themed; I never thought it was. But, I honestly did (and still do) think it's in the same vein as Contra (Nintendo Entertainment System), Metal Slug (Neo Geo AES (home)), and other such pew-pews. What am I missing? surprise
