new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

RGB can be 480p but maybe not the RGB you are thinking of here. YPbPr is extremely versatile.

You guys don't have a clue. I can't buy what's not available except at an absurd premium or at ungodly hours. And I refuse to do either because I shouldn't have to. This thread is nothing but a junk-measuring contest, and its participants are a big contributing factor as to why I don't do much here any more. So... I'm out.

My 4 year old plays Breath of the Wild all the time. Well, "plays" is a loose term in this case as he runs around smashing stuff, uses that magnet moving beam thing, lights stuff on fire, explores the open world and is always looking for more arrows just to shoot straight up in the air as soon as he picks them up. Asks to play every day when he gets home from pre-school. Text would be the biggest challenge on the classic stuff for sure but nothing wrong with starting them early on the good stuff!

That's awesome! No way mine could get that far in Punch Out. He's been playing SMB, Mario 64. Little Big Planet (Vita) and BotW the most over the last month. He's getting a DSLite for his birthday and a couple loose games so he can have his very own system to play on.

Not sure where the hostility is coming from but no one here, at least to my knowledge have ever been rude to you. I suggested the trade in and buy since you inferred that the SNES Classic was readily available at at your friendly Henderson GameStop. If you didn't get one that's too bad, but maybe blame Nintendo? As far as I know, no one here tried to scalp a Classic(at least not openly), in fact, quite a few people offered it at cost plus shipping.

Sucks that you didn't get one. But may be drop the entitlement attitude, and not call everyone a participant of you not able to get a Classic?

While you're having a fit, I should note that I've gotten both a US model and a EUR model SNES Classic from people in this thread, by sending offers that were accepted. Because people in this thread are happy to help out each other if they can. Acting like this is probably not a good way to make friends who are willing to help you get what you want, we're all in this same crap show with you believe it or not, it's just that some were obviously more lucky than others. You'll note they did NOT go to eBay, as they easily could have!

Nobody's gonna hand anything to you, though. You've gotta wheel to deal.

Gypsy was actually in talks with me for that UK SNES Classic before you swooped in and grabbed it. And I am willing to bet that he didn't mention that, did he?!
I've helped many people over the years, so don't go playing the innocent here.
I'm leaving the site anyway once my current trades are done.

That's not funny, that's actually really mean sir. Because her and a few other people on gametz really wanted these at retail and couldn't get them in any way shape or form. I don't know if it was your intention but that's really just rubbing salt in the wound.

Perhaps if you decided you liked one snes classic less than the other you might be willing to sell one?

No, probably because instead of being in talks for one, I sent an offer that he accepted. The fact that someone was talking about maybe doing a trade somehow could be seems irrelevant frankly.

Honestly I was just making fun of the melodrama but obviously this is something she took very, very seriously. I also wasn't aware at the time that the trade I pended was the unit in question.

Look, I worked on Friday too, and I even got up early to scope out a couple locations before going in, and I wound up empty as well when I walked into the office. But that's not my fault, and that's not the fault of anyone on the site who's offered up a unit that she didn't get. If there wasn't an agreement, there was nothing for her to "lose".

Honestly this thread's been going a VERY long time without any serious drama, and I'm sad to see the streak break. But nobody did anything wrong. At all.

>Perhaps if you decided you liked one snes classic less than the other you might be willing to sell one?

That was actually precisely the idea once I pended the trade for the unit style I had originally wanted.

I sincerely hope you don't leave the site, you are one of my favorite people to talk to here, and with all of my and many other people's negativity on this site all of your positivity is like a much needed breath of fresh air 😍

I'm still going to try to procure an snes classic to trade you for the stuff we were already talking about trading. You will get one don't worry, like it is for you, it's a little more difficult for me to swing one of these as well but I have plenty of things I don't need I can (and honestly should) move towards one or two or maybe three of these silly things so I can trade them to people who want them.

Anyways I always enjoy our talks and I know a lot of people like you here I do hope if one of us can get you one you will stay. I'm also happy that you're always trying to help me find things I like so I in turn would love helping you get one of these especially since you have plenty of things I wanted anyways that we've been in talks about for awhile now 😍

Ugh, if I wanted drama I would go to NeoGAF.

Can't we talk about games and ubsurd cables that we need to get the best possible picture quality?

Anyone interested in In the Hunt? A pre Metal Slug game with amazeballs sprites?

I have both the PS1 and Saturn versions , guess which one is better.

When I look at someone who disregards their peers with a statement like this:

>This thread is nothing but a junk-measuring contest, and its participants are a big contributing factor as to why I don't do much here any more.

...when they don't get what they want, and then talk about common courtesy, how are we supposed to take that?

Did you want me to cancel my trade...? After an offer was sent and agreed on while you were still "in talks"? Would that have made you happy? Would that have kept you from disrespecting participants in the thread? Because holding your respect and care hostage contingent on a SNES Classic trade seems pretty petty to me.

edit: sorry playying, I'm done. I'm just disappointed. I thought she was cooler than this.

What on earth is happening here? Is this really over a SNES Classic? Why did everything get so personal suddenly? This has literally never happened in year+ history of this thread. It's interesting, because I consider this thread to have some of the nicest people on the entire site, I got my NES Classic from here at cost when I couldn't find one. I'm shocked there's an issue like this, especially since it involves people I respect on here. You're all reasonable people, I know that. I just don't understand what happened.

I'm with you, if Nintendo can't get it in stock and to me by normal means I'm perfectly happy with my SNES Jr W/sd2snes. Don't need no stinking save states anyways. My son is almost 5 and the hardest thing was getting him the dexterity to use buttons, as in his brain was programmed to use touch devices, buttons blew his mind lol.

Alright so back to retro gaming. Do any of you guys use a Scart to Component transcoder and if so which one?

Do you have 3ds, vita or ps4 games to trade? Maybe we can make a deal.

I'm not swimming in them, but got 2 because target and BB are literally next to each other.

Oh man I remember that! I had a Logitech one w/o the controller sides that I used to use for Socom! Iirc there is a similar device for the GameCube for Phantasy Star online?

Action Replay let you swap discs while the software was running, no swap trick needed. I bet Gameshark does too. I don't know why Swap Magic can't work the same way. Game Genie and Game Shark just locking on to your carts was way easier grin

9 posts out of 10 in this thread are "hey look what I got!". And re: common courtesy, I was referring to the trade, not this thread. If he would have told me the whole story, I wouldn't be nearly as upset. You don't offer something to someone to try to help than just up and take the first official offer you get just because it's shinier.

What? That's nowhere near true. Just read back the past few pages if you don't believe me. Sure, it's fun to show off every once in awhile, but it's mostly actual discussion and advice here. I get that you're upset, but throwing everyone under the bus is a low blow.

If you have two and they are both extra I need one as well, also do you still have that vita you were trading awhile back towards an snes classic?

I meant to hit you up before about both but the last few days have been a little crazy in bleedingviolet-land and before I asked you about any huge trades I wanted to see where I was at first with real life stuff and trades and money etc etc etc

Please let's talk 😍

Also @Wheels617 I still wanna eventually make a huge trade with you too for your jaguar but it might be next month when my siuation is more fluid.

That's still 20 dollars less than my lowest Craigslist chance at owning one out here in the desert.
