new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I made a little 3D printed hinge that clamps onto the holes in a Sega case to replace a broken one. It works pretty well. I'm going to tweak it some more and start putting them onto games I've scavenged the good cases from to make them more presentable raspberry No glue, so no permanent damage if you really want to protect your crapty broken hinge case.

Really just wanted to dog about this. The shipment had to be reconsigned in the first place. It was supposed to be picked up on the 14th but wasn't actually picked up until the 21st. Bear in mind this cost over $400 in shipping alone. I hate freight and never want to deal with it again.

Looked locally for a SNES Mini this morning, and they were all sold out at 4 AM. ThinkGeek sold out at 3. Heaven forbid those of us who sleep should have nice things. wry smile

I did end up using the $20 ThinkGeek gift card I got from the Virtual Box on some nice plushies, and also managed to get the Metroid amiibo set after TRU/FedEx dropped the ball on the set benstylus ordered though, so it wasn't a total loss.

The amount of games, plus 2 controllers is pretty amazing value. I just wish Nintendo would produce enough for demand.

You can't change people's behavior but Nintendo can do more to alleviate the situation.

Oh also, no input lag, amazing emulation. I am tempted to get rid of my SNES set up(which is close to $500 I've invested) and just play off of the Classic.

To have a limited set of games? Eh I dunno. My SNES with everdrive to pvm setup is near perfect IMHO. Plus I'm wierd and like the mouse and super scope games.

Stream snes classic system instead please! I know a lot of people here want to see it on the site. I'm curious but more for our other friends here who really wanted one for themselves 😊

I would like to see the load up screens and the home screen though.

Thanks in advance oh and maybe just stream the snes Classic Castlevania instead 😊 These guys don't even like Castlevania 64.

Yep, that was my biggest issue. Same problem that people with shelves full of games have; they don't touch 90% of them. Put a stack of NES carts on top of your NES and see how varied your NES gameplay gets.

If the SNES Mini ends up being moddable like the NES Classic was, that'd be sweet (Hell, I'd do it just to play NES games, but putting a few SNES titles on it that I wanted to play through is also cool)

Yes you do, the Star Wars version supposedly has special R2-D2 sound effects. I believe that makes it hold its value over time as well. Keep it in great condition and I'll bet it goes way up in value over time.

I've never owned either system variation I've only ever owned 360 slim black versions but I would love different variations I just don't need them right away. There was a red Resident evil 5 for instance I wanted to buy off craigslist within the last year or two. I didn't end up getting it because I didn't NEED it but I probably would if it magically appeared again.

Well it's up for grabs on the site. I'm a purist and would want the matching controller and Kinect. Which it's a crapshoot to get it included.

Flash carts give me the opposite problem, that I want to play them all at the same time because they're all in the console. If I hit a roadblock, it's too easy to back out of the game and play something else. If I put the cart in the console it's like saying "Today is The Mutant Virus day. We're playing nothing but this crap."
