new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

If I could get an Analog NT with the HDMI, probably that? Or an NES with the HDMI mod probably. In absence of either, NES/SNES Classic have done very good work. Once SNESC's lid gets popped and it's open-ended, I think that'll be the end of it for me.

Don't get an Analogue Nt. The cart slot is crapty and I've had 3 games that don't work so far (despite it being original hardware). Graphical glitches/crashes in King of the Ring, Spot the Game, and Family Feud. An update fixed King of the Ring though. Also my front power light is starting to go bad. It flickers on and off now. The upscaling is so good, but the console is like Hyperkin quality in an aluminum brick.

I'm going to have to disagree with the cart slot, mine is nothing like the Retron quality. Having both systems, they are light years apart in that regard. I can't comment on the games you listed though as I don't own them but I haven't had a single issue with my NT Mini. The controller plug is a little tight for player one but other than that, it's been rock solid.

The Retron NES port didn't last long before it started scratching the connectors on my carts and I had to do a little surgery on it to remedy that problem. When that didn't work, I simply used a game genie on it and left it in the slot at all times until we finally stopped using it mainly because I moved all my original systems to the living room. This hasn't been an issue at all with the Mini. No crashes, glitches or other problems with software. I've also used the other "cores" in the jailbroken firmware with no issues whatsoever.

Maybe there was a revision or it might be a QC issue with some units. I'm 100% satisfied with mine, so much so that I don't even use my HiDef NES top loader at all.

I've got an Nt, not an Nt mini so they could be different. The Nt slot is loose as hell. Usually I start the console up, pick up the controller from behind the console, the cable lightly touches the cart, and the game freezes. I don't even understand how there are compatibility issues with games because it's supposed to be using a real PPU and CPU. It's not my carts, it happens with flash carts too.

I love Kevtris' work, but have zero faith in the Analogue guys. I can't wait for the Zimba 3000, whatever it turns out to be. If Kevtris' adapters for the Nt mini are good I still might get one of those though.

Also I have extremely high standards for it. It's 500 freakin' dollars. It should be perfect, light years ahead of everything else, but I still prefer my AVS.

Considering the QC issues that some really high quality monitors have, it wouldn't surprise me if there was a difference unit to unit with a relatively small project like this.

Gotcha, that makes much more sense now. Totally agree with the Zimba 3000, it can't get here fast enough as well as the adapters.

I do remember there were specific changes made to the cartridge slot starting with the Mini but I'm not sure they ever detailed exactly what they were. It was one of those "minor changes in design" type quotes. Agreed on the quality expected for the price and now a days I'm sure they don't support the original model either, correct?

Yeah, now that I understand it's the older model, sure could be especially with the original chips. It could be as easy as a problematic chip in that specific unit. Could be power related, trace route interference or any number of minor differences over the project lifespan and assembly practices. You'd think the QC would be working double time with a retail product though, but you know how that goes.

I'm sure my warranty is up anyway. I sure as hell wouldn't give a long warranty on something made from pillaged Famicom parts. Their support has been good in my experience though. They shipped me the wrong AC adapter to begin with, I emailed them and they had a new one shipped out without a couple hours. They also accidentally included a Famicom controller. I'm pretty sure I just got the wrong box. I'm going to 3D print a little insert for the cart slot to make it tighter, I just haven't gotten around to it. I do like it for the most part. I use both about equally, my AVS is for more "serious" gaming and my Nt is in my room when I'm just blowing through something before bed.

Also neither Nt is spaced correctly for the Four Score. I want my Four Score.

I sold my AVS, so currently the only ways I can play NES:

RetroArch on Shield TV
Retro Freak
Dreamcast
I think N64 can get NES roms on the Everdrive?

Yes, RTT secret santa is on! I will post soon. Prob around the beginning of November so it will be NEAR Christmas when we receive presents.

@Lunar yes

PCEFX is starting up now (which is why I thought about it) but of course lots of the gifts are from Japan so that needs more time.

Doesn't the NT Mini have 4 controller ports already?

Who cares about 4 controller ports. It's all about that controller extension and turbo buttons baby!

Yeah that sure sounds like an ideal way to playing NG3.

Doesn't the mini have four... Controller... Ports????

The AVS is awesome for four player games, but keep a four score for the Sharp TV NES.

Like DG said, it's more about the cable extension and turbo...at least for me. I also don't like inserting/removing the controller in port 1 because it's super tight and don't want to run into problems with it down the line. I use both the regular controller and now have an NES Advantage that I'll want to swap back and forth for certain games. It'd be much better to leave the four score in all the time instead of putting wear and tear on the built in ports given the resistance level.

I don't use turbo at all, not sure what its for.

So hey, GBA and PCE/TG16 slots still work on my RetroFreak, Score!

Also found the RF Controller Adapter, I guess I will use Avenue 6 Pad to play NES games.
