new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

You seen how people reacted to Bat's great price. He has even lowered it. Maybe with the games someone will bite.

I mean, I could definitely go $250-260 for the system. With the games, probably $275-285.

If someone were to send an offer for a Neon Switch + PPT (complete w/keychains) for $270 shipped Paypal after fees, I'd probably accept that immediately.

You know. In theory.

Depends what the goal is. Pretty sure that seller wasn't using it for video games but I could be wrong of course. With film content it is pretty close to a neverending quest, though I'd say a Radiance 21xx is excellent and Radiance Pro UltraHD is about the best you could want for 4K upscaling. Now, something will probably come out again later, whenever the next resolution bump is, lol.

I'd rather not, honestly I'd rather keep it than send it to eBay.

Think I should just do $250 shipped for the system and PPT?

I should have waited to get my son his for Christmas. I paid 330 for just a system a month back. Now everyone is selling theirs for excellent prices. I almost want to pick up a 3rd at these prices.

That would be an amazing price. I would bite if I didn't already have a Switch and PPT.

It's not incredible. It's good enough gameplay but babysitting is a bummer, only one runspeed, jumping and gimmicky bits are the only traversal options, the level design isn't really compelling. Couldn't play the 3DS one either, was very boring, that game literally puts me to sleep. The Wii U one wasn't awful... but still. None of the successive games past SMW really got the formula right again.

S.O.S: Sink or Swim, get on it. I just discovered it in the last month or so at a friends, great little puzzle/platform game. Finding one for a decent price, different story as it appears extremely hard to find, I still haven't secured my own copy yet.

I recently went through it myself. It's alright but not great.

What games are you talking about in the rest of your post? Yoshi games? Certainly not mainline Mario games I'd think.

Whats the group concensus on the best way to play NES?

1. No space restriction
2. No monetary restriction
3. No restrictions at all

I like play with as many restrictions as possible. I try to play one handed on black and white TVs. (I don't understand the question)

Oh, sorry. Prob cuz I wrote it on the 7 train next to someone peeling and eating an orange...

Let me rephrase:

If you had no barrier of entry(money, space, etc), what would be the ideal(best) way to play NES games with the best output quality?

Well if I had to guess maybe no space restrictions on an old tv that you could still use your zapper with. As far as how much that would cost probably not too much.

I haven't played too many gun games that I remember much since the nes EXCEPT in the arcades. Jurassic park lost world is awesome in the arcades

Nes is an old school system and the graphics aren't the best to begin with, there's a lot more to the experience of playing 8 bit games. If the games themselves weren't fun it doesn't matter how they look. A lot of games these days may be more immersive but are they really more fun? Most aren't even challenging they are just too drawn out to be finished sometimes.

I have the retrons hooked up on an awesome little monitor tv thingie I got here on gametz. It works fine for nes and retron 1 I haven't messed with retron 5 enough yet but the one snes game I put in ..... Idk. I think I need to change the settings on the retron 5 so it looks better but later. I get frustrated with things I just wanna plug in and play. I need to put aside some time soon to play and make sure it's at the best settings on this little monitor.

But yeah you don't need a ton of money to do it right just luck out getting an old ass tv for cheap that still works.
