new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

In all fairness, its stressful having been mystery box'd!

I hate mystery boxes. I know what I want and I'm willing to spend to get it. I don't want a bunch of random crap that's not even on my want list.

Don't forget this was for the steal thread and was supposed to be a great value. Bunch of beat handhelds w/o chargers.

@Lunar mystery boxes were the truth. I'd buy another.

I never even tested them, who knows if they actually work. The GBC doesn't have a battery cover as well. OG 3DS and AGS-001.

Yeah, lol. Sad systems. When you can argue that the items are barely worth the total cost (regardless of correctness for sure it's very arguable within the realm of reason) when it's supposed to be a huge discount then it's an abject failure. Condition matters. OEM chargers matter.

After my one transaction with the guy I was done with him forever barring a good deal which we all know is never happening.

Ok this is my last post about this for now let's talk about other crap like the return of @Lunar mystery boxes. smiley:::winking raspberry

I've always asked the seller before buying. That way I could convince them to do it. If it was a BIN you had to snatch, just hope. And if it arrives damaged just report to ebay it was damaged during shipping and specify "insufficient packaging". I was given that advice here, and it worked. Especially if you send a message to seller asking them to please protect it during shipping.

The one thing I'm definitely not worried about is getting my money back if needed. It was an auction I noticed with a day or so left to go. I messaged them but I couldn't just let it go to someone else super cheap if they didn't respond. smiley:::wince

I'm weird and collect magazines (video game, board game, fantasy related). Got 19 sequential issues of one that isn't very widely collected for dirt cheap. My real worry is even getting all the old issues before people just destroy, recycle, use them for doggy house training etc...

Not weird, just like the #1 or #2 predictor for hoarding tendencies. No big deal.

I've put that on every single auction for years...unfortunately it's about half the time that they listen. The worst part are all those minty GBA games I had to return and one less nice copy out there to rescue.

For hard to find boxes I sometimes offer to pay extra shipping (if they only charged enough to ship first class). Once someone actually took me up on it. It's bullcrap and the seller should just get me the thing like they're supposed to, but it was easier to pay a few bucks and not have to deal with months of tracking down a deal on a nice box again.

I try to pack games appropriately. Cart only games/disc games with sturdy cases can go in bubble mailers. Everything else goes in a box.

The fact that anyone would ship a box in a bubble mailer is just stupefying to me. Just use a box dummy.

I used to not bother with magazines but the last lot I got seriously shipped in a mailer. I probably doged about it here.
