new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I'm glad we started this monthly play together campaign.

At the very LEAST, I know @DefaultGen and @sharif both have those carts on their shelves and they didn't beat them until our campaign.

I wonder if we can more people involved. I know we have been a bit brand:::Nintendo Entertainment System-club-ey. So maybe that's why some people haven't joined in.

I'd have to buy a very clean NES toaster and RGB mod it first. And then collect a few of my favorites in VG condition CIB. And I probably wouldn't have the games you all wanted to pla. . oh forget it. smiley:::smile

I too am glad we started this monthly play together. I do really think that November should be an snes classic game though. I should be getting Monster in My Pocket soon and then I will try to see if I can get a physical copy of whichever game is game of the month for November as well.

Hopefully more people will come out of the woodwork here to play along in November and start talking in the RTT too 😊 I know a lot of people liked Snes better than Nes too (I am not one of them but there are great games on both systems!) so maybe it will get more people involved.

It mentions Linux. If it is open source enough that I can load up a MAME emulator and sort of use it as an arcade emulator box I can connect to my TV, I might actually get one. The Atari games are just a nice bonus.

"But it is the use of AMD's technology -- which also powers Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox consoles -- that indicates the Ataribox could pack some serious power for high-end gaming". Both use AMD processors so it will be a high power gaming machine. What.

Atari isn't directly competing against Nintendo, which should btw have already started producing more nes classics. Plus I have a sneaking suspicion one of their top ten companies to invest in was Nintendo so they probably didn't want to take any positives away from the Atari box.

It seems more like it will focus on getting pc game makers and maybe try to attract other companies that make games on every system too.

There is a lot of potential but who knows what it will end up turning into? I'm still hopeful.

Since it's open Source Linux, we'll be able to put Emulators on it right? This might be the "Emulator box with a controller" I've been looking for. Something to hook up to my large screen and be able to play MAME games.

It would be nice if it was the one system that would make lots of different people happy. We really don't know enough about it yet. I hope you're right though and I hope it's user friendly for people like me to figure it out as well.

Collectard's Collective

We help collectors who have lost touch with their games reconnect with their passion by bringing more games into systems rather than sitting on shelves looking pretty.

At CC, It's always a judgment-free zone and no one gets judged no matter how high the stacks get or how dusty the shelves are. Let neglected games rejoin their parent systems by showing them a little bit of TLC and wear any signs of usage as a badge of honor rather than throwing it out.

Let the collectarding end and passionate gaming begin!

Keeping the DVDO VP30 w/card to test with OSSC, then will decide between DVDO or FM.

Lucky you, I'm getting quite fed up with their shipping delays. My copy was marked as fulfilled on the 12th, but tracking still shows that the P.O. has yet to get it. Same with my Ys order, though that was only marked on the 14th...
