new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I was very close to consecutive dibbing and coming up with another deal to offer. Not a bad deal at all, but brand:::Sega Dreamcast can be a tough sell in the thread. :)

Yeah I knew when I posted it tbh which is why I also included the @WithinTemptation bait. Had some other stuff in reserve but not sure I wanted to use that for the PS1 games I was getting.

This brand:::Sega Dreamcast is definitely available with or without the games if anyone is interested. I don't need as many systems as I have. Basically traded @DiamondDave for Mars Matrix lol.

@tonymack21 If I'm being honest PS2, Gamecube and Wii look waaaay better emulating than anything you could hope to do with actual hardware. Some other systems probably do as well, these are just ones I've messed with a lot.

yes they definitely do, it breathes total new life into these games. and you cant buy most of these in any way that benefits the pub or dev anymore anyway.

DQ8 looking this good has me so excited for DQ11.
ps1 def benefits a lot too. you can get these games looking a generation ahead of themselves in many cases

Alright, someone with a UK SNES Classic model and Hakchi2, I need a hero.

I didn't brick my SNES Classic (Yet!) but I did manage to accidentally delete my original Kernel dump in some confusion this morning. If I can get an assist from someone, I'd be eternally grateful.

Does it have to be the UK model?

I may be able to flash the US kernel on the UK model, would be interesting to try, but I'm specifically looking for the UK kernel dump. I think I got that one incoming from another user so should be good on that end, but for science I honestly wouldn't mind trying to flash the US kernel on this model. WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN, MAY BRICK IT. smiley:::raspberry

I watched an entire video about how even on the snes euro classic they used the same virtual box art as the original US games in the menus. I'm not sure how pissed I would be if that were reversed but yeah I feel like Nintendo didn't spend enough time individualizing (yes I'm aware that may not even be a real word) the different models for the different markets. So I'm thinking like @WithinTemptation that they are pretty close to identical anyways.

I do wish Nintendo had made the three models much different from one another so they would all be worth owning together though.

Well yeah, they all use the same box art, but the background, UI and save/rewind interface are different (superior!)

I would classify this as good profit lol. Was that shortly after the release?

What I don't understand is the people clearly looking to profit but also want to sell them on TZ. Seemingly won't just list them on eBay while the value goes down and down and down. Not you of course Dash. I'm sure no one has any idea who I'm referring to. smiley:::wink

Agreed. Saturday Morning RPG and Soldner were up there for a while but Soldner dropped off after Play Asia release. They aren't a great "investment" because after LRG prints a run, everything goes back to the dev so that they can have someone else publish another run or even do it themselves. You'll never know how many copies there will be until years from now. And I don't think LRG vs another 3rd party publisher will really warrant that much of a premium in the years to come.
