new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I dont think I'd rebuy at retail for a SNES skin.

It does look good when its flipped out like that. I guess whoever is watching me play on the subway can enjoy the view.

There is apparently a pokeball 2DSXL as well. Not sure I'd buy either at retail but both are interesting. Unfortunately these LE consoles never seem to go down much, at least the ones I'm interested in anyway...

Honestly the only thing I really care about is having a functional system. I almost never play my N3DS though.

LBW 3DS XL, by far. Though I feel if I ever got the Monster Hunter N3DSXL at launch I'd still have that.

Wow, that SNES is very nice. Don't think I can justify the cost now and it will probably never be close to that price after release.

I have the Hyrule Edition right now and I really like it. Its a keeper for me. I'm still trying to sell that pokemon version, lol.

I just have too few left over 3DS games to play before it's retired so it's not worth it to me. I'll play them on my launch aqua. There was a time I wanted to upgrade to a new 3DS but I failed to snag a white new 3DS for $99.

I like the contrast of white and black on my FE Fates SE brand:::Nintendo New 3DS XL myself, I would like to get the new Metroid edition in my hands though as that looked snazzy. Runner up would be the awesome looking Persona Q regular 3DS XL my local game shop has for an absurd $175 or so, it is pretty though.

Nintendo sells refurbished white n3DS with some different faceplates through the support site for $125. Saw 4 or 5 different versions while I was on there the other day.

The Hyrule edition is a n3DSXL exclusive to GameStop. It was the most recent one. LBW was just a 3DS though.

Refurbished is not good enough, must be brand new untouched smiley:::smile. I WILL buy a brand:::Nintendo New 3DS brand:::Nintendo 3DS if they release one in the future. But I'm not going to buy an XL nor will I pay a penny over retail for a brand:::Nintendo New 3DS brand:::Nintendo 3DS.

Where do people go to buy a AGS-101 (non-SP version) besides eBay?

Also is there such a thing as a AGS-101 SP-version with improved D-Pad? I never got the SP version of the GBA because the D-pad never felt right in my hands.

Since there's no such thing as a Non-SP version of the AGS-101, as the AGS-101 is the backlit GBA SP's model number, I'm assuming you're referring to aftermarket GBA mods that use "AGS-101" or AGS-101-"like" screens? Maybe Etsy, but eBay's about the "best" place to get that.

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. It's odd that modders can't rely on word-of-mouth and just have their own online store to buy from directly.

Well one thing you have to remember is that the LED is crucial. You can say that well it has an on TV display. But consider it was set to DVI output and you'd have to switch to HDMI out. You would be blindly fiddling with buttons. You might never get it working!

What's the allure of a racing game? I'm curious because I can never really get the draw of the genre.

Like I enjoy Mario Kart, and Burnout is kinda fun once in a while, but other generic racers, or even GT or Forza, I don't get it. Is everyone playing with wheels so its got that Arcade-y feel? Educate me!

I like Super Hang-On and Daytona USA but that's mostly nostalgia talking.

You gotta go fast. I think arcade racing is great, Burnout, Out Run, and Pole Position are some of my favorite franchises ever. Modern games I think are too grindy. Too many races, grinding for currency, open worlds, storylines, customization, all that garbage. I just want to get in and race.
