new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I am trying to figure out if it is my CDX or new scart cable but I noticed static and jailbars in the black portion of the screen when using the OSSC.

Yea I emailed Retro Access and asked for a new cable. The others they sent work great. I am guessing some of the wires are touching at the connector. I didn't pull it apart to check though.

I heard good things about Retro Access but I should have coughed up the extra money and bought from Retrogamingcables.

DD so fast.

I really should just get a scart cable from those rgc guys myself. Those heavily shielded ones look so nice.

The cable I bought was CSYNC. Here is the exact one I bought.

I had jailbars on my genesis games. This seller sold a "NO JAILBARS" genesis scart cables. And the jailbars were gone.

https://www.ebay.com/usr/retro_console_accessories...

the retrogamingcables is also a good site. But since I did not order their genesis cables I can't give a hands on. I have their PS2, SNES, and Saturn cables and can say they are amazing.

ErickRPG

did the listing say NO JAILBARS? There is def an issue with gen/cd/ with jailbars some times. So much so that he specifically makes a no jailbars version. I don't know the inner workings of it, but it did work for me. As I got jailbars with just cheap $5 chinese cables then returned them and tried his. No jailbars. Or if they are there they are extremely faint.

Yeah just talk to him/her and they will be more than willing to work with you.

Genesis 2, 32X, and CDX just have jailbars. Smarter people can say whether it's weak signal due to PCB design or just the amp they used, but electronics are hard. You can totally get around it by replacing the RGB amp. I also got one of those no jailbars cables and it seems to work just fine, whatever it does.

http://retrorgb.com/genesisrgbbypass.html

Apparently you can also remove C28, which will ruin composite/s-video/RF but also lessen jailbars.

Looks like Mario Odyssey got perfect scores everywhere. Half of them don't count because if your website gave Skyward Sword a 10/10 and said it's the pinnacle of gaming, your reviews don't matter for the rest of time in my book. Mario 64 still alive yes

The same review sites also lost their crap when Nintendo turned Zelda into a game with Western sensibilities. Like BOTW is good, but it's nothing we haven't seen before.

seeing Mario odyssey in action has me less excited for it, I know im weird and one of the two people who don't care much about the newer Mario games, the 3d ones just haven't interested me much. a lot of motion controls apparently, always a turn off for me.

I never 100%'d SMG1. I need to go back and do that one day. I don't think I even played every level. SMG2 I basically spent every waking moment in front of the TV until I 100%'d it.

Still I'm mostly excited because this isn't a linear Mario game like the Galaxy and 3D Land/World games. SM64 is my favorite Mario, so I want more 3D crap.

So 2k put the Mafia III CE on deep discount a few days ago. Limited to "1 per person". I decide to look on eBay and see how flooded the market got, sure enough some chowder head managed to buy 5 and has them up for not much profit at all especially considering how much this heavy pos would be to ship. I got it to play the game and have a bunch of extra bullcrap so it doesn't really effect me, just another glimpse into what this hobby has become.

If it didn't require individual attention to all the consoles plus possible mods, hundred dollar plus equipment and a LOT of fudging around I'd probably have given SCART/RGB a looksee by now. Can't be bothered to care, not with my current income level.
