new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Some more recent ones I've enjoyed are Luminous Arc, Bravely Default (not finished) and Child of Light. The grinding doesn't bother me most of the time but there are some games that just do it wrong. As long as I'm not over or under powered moving through the story, I'm generally good. Story is important, although not absolute, this is where I think most JRPGs fail, at least for what I'm looking for in games I'll stick with to the end.

I consider Skyrim to be one of my all time favorites, but never finished the main story.

What?!? Why even bother playing certain games if you have to cheat to get through them?

I'm actually playing Dragon Warrior 1 this week for fun, grinding for gold and experience and even enjoying the simple Nes gameplay. It's fun since I DONT know where everything is anymore or have it easy. Maybe I just need a challenge to get any satisfaction from passing games idk.

I never finished og Xbox morrowind or Kotor 2 and I love both of them. I've pretty much done everything in Morrowind aside from complete all the dlc stuff and finish the main story though. I really like exploring in that game.

Numbers look legit. If you can change the languages successfully and the screen options do what they're supposed to (ie not stretch games out full widescreen or shrink screen to tiny portion of center) I think this is a steal confirmed. Nice get!

Because I value my time. DQ games would be a lot more interesting to me if the encounter rates were much lower and the experience given was higher. I do like the sense of exploration in them.

You're making me want to go through it again. I used to be able to do the mountain cave (west of Tangetel) getting all the treasure without even a torch.

You totally should play it again. I'm not sure which town Tantegel is I'm only on level 10 right now trying to grind some gold for some better armor so I can win against better enemies. But I beat this game as a kid and it's just another Nes game I really needed to play again as an adult. The music is still great too 😍

Tangetel is the starting castle, I always try to use that as a landmark. I could also say south of Garinham (where you'll prolly buy the large shield from), or north of Hauksness (the ruined town) if that helps. I will also always refer to the NES names of things- the town is Cantlin, not Mercado like the GB remake.

I may go through it again on the Famicom, just so I can mess with the password system...

So I put out one of those "Looking for retro consoles/games" posts on LetGo, OfferUp and Craigslist like a year ago. Got maybe 2 replies, didn't figure they were worth it but I re-upped and posted again yesterday. This morning I got two messages, one for a complete CDI system with 22 games, boxed and another for a complete Virtual Boy (not CIB) in a carrying case with a complete set of games. Wish I hadn't spent so much on other crap the last month, still asked for meet ups on both lots.

For those not wanting to emulate, this is like a $14 shipped SFC cart. The MMX collection on PS2 is around that same price sealed too. Definitely an affordable game this month.

It's also on the 3DS, Wii U, and Wii Virtual Consoles ... and any of those fancy SNES Classics if you were able to grab one.
