new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I just got Dino Land for 20 bucks yes I'm not specifically collecting Renovation stuff though, I just like pinball and Gain Ground. Earlier this year you guys informed me a game called El Viento even existed. It's not an economical idea to collect from the Publisher du Jour.

Bold titles are shooters you can skip if you're not a fan. Shooters in italics you should get anyways because they'll probably make you a fan of shooters. Left out the obvious picks for NES/N64, left out SNES entirely because Wii VC didn't sell many of the great games the system SHOULD be known for and I'm salty.

I dropped $50 on PC Engine Titles alone and I needed to add another $20 to keep myself from crying. This PC Engine list is $170 by itself and I'd want to get all of those.

Yeah how does an NES game not work? Unless the pins are totally rusted out or filled with tar it should be salvageable.

This is my hot and totally clean and professional looking current state of playing old games that I mentioned a day or so ago. I hadn't even really had anything out after getting the projector and putting away my pvm and crt tv until just recently when I got the urge to play Rondo.

Edit: I plan to get all this sorted out this month hopefully.

I had a copy of Section Z that didn't have rusty pins or anything, looked perfectly fine, scrubbed and scrubbed to a polish, wouldn't fire up once.

That's a shame cause someone ganked mine when I was a kid and I still haven't ever gotten another copy. I think I passed it but it was a really cool game with many secrets. Hopefully you can get a working copy someday.

Sell it on Ebay. The person who buys it probably won't even put it into a console. Don't actually do that, but I mean, you could totally actually do that.

There are fudging dozens of Mega Man platformers, not including spin offs. Mario is my favorite franchise of all time and I haven't even beaten every single Mario game. MM11 will probably be fine, but if I wanted to play a new Mega Man game the world is already my oyster.

The X series in particular. And MM9 was godly, MM10 was...

The wrong direction I think. Music was worse, level design was worse to allow for their Easy Mode modification, it wasn't as good.

The X series though. Soon as you hit MMX5, crap just doesn't go well.

One was a swap meet, one was in a box of old video games from my friend's basement. The Gemfire has rusted out pins and the Simpsons game has cigarette tar residue everywhere.

If both of those and MM11 all come to switch physically, I'd get all 3. Would be nice to just own all games and play them on one system. Specially a nice portable system like Switch.
