new Thread Description
Wow, can't believe it's been more than a year since we started RTT. I feel like we have become a community of our own within GameTZ. We have our regulars and even some new comers. I hope 2018 brings us more like-minded retro gamers who will come here for a place of retro inspiration. When I started Retro Trade Thead (RTT), it was called "The Retro Trading Thread", kinda like how FB was "The Facebook", heh, I was just hoping for a group of retro gamers who share the passion and the thrill of collecting and playing Retro games. The result so far has exceeded my expectations and more. I am playing more retro games more than ever and while my collecting is on and off, I know I have been enjoying more retro gaming in 2017 than my previous 5 years combined. I hope RTT members have similar experiences. 2018 will be an even better year, as we have established group events like RTT Secret Santa and our monthly Game of the Month, which is getting more popular as more people participate. I am hoping to bring RTT Podcast in 2018 where 2-3 RTT members will talk about monthly topics and other aspects of retro collecting.

Retro game buying and selling, collecting, playing, collectarding, upscaling, speedrunning....whatever your retro passion is, RTT will have a place for you and for everyone who participates in our discussions, whether occasionally or frequently, will continue to find value and fun in our thread.

Thank you for participating and making RTT the hottest topic every month in 2017!

Old Topic Description

This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

He carries the message from the ancient ones. He is the first and the last. His dark angels from above will come and he will be worshiped by us all. Through the cities and fields his shadow you will see. He is everywhere you turn. Here he comes marching in triumph. Around the fire, around the moon and the sun. Around the idol of stone. Around we dance, around we wait. To listen to the screaming of the one.

I did look into the model a bit. Not the best tv but looks good enough for me and can't beat free.

The tv was from her companie's lobby, it was a digital poster and was mounted to the wall vertically, so I was sure it would work, but in had no idea how affordable and easy it would be to setup a rotating mount.

This is mostly going to be for watching hockey or shows while playing on he crt. Nothing is hooked up to the crt for video/tv, so the reverse will likely not happen often.

She will hang out with me when I play retro games a lot more often now.

Gypsy I used to love wrestling and wrestling games now I just can't so much anymore BUT if you've never played it Saturday Night Slam Masters should 100% be your jam.

Keep in mind it has street fighter 2 special movements on the joystick so it's not too easy to master but it does make the game different. It's just really good and I've been meaning to play it again 😊

I liked wrestlin games back when wrestlers were characters. I kinda compare to how Johnny Depp and Geoffry Rush are incredibly good "character actors" that make Jack Sparrow and Cap. Barbossa insanely lovable characters.

Back in the day wrestlin was amount to great character actors. Hogan, Randy Savage, Ric Flair, The Bushwackers. They were incredibly fun to watch because they were purposely over the top "characters". Wrestling now is just a whole bunch of generic nobodies. The N64 games were great. My dream game was one made by AKI with all of my favorite WWF characters with all of the licensed intro music and an insane make your own entrance with fire, lights, and fireworks.

I get what you mean here sir! But it's hard to have consistently different characters that also appeal to this generation. You also must realize that it's probably because we got older and our tastes have just changed.

Characters like Koko B ware and the Model Rick Martel as well as Ravishing Rick Rude and The Undertaker, the Rock, Edge and Christian, Kurt Angle and Jake the Snake Roberts are all pretty great and pretty original but even now I just can't get into any of it. I did get a ps1 copy of smackdown! Recently though and have been wanting to play that one for sure.

Also have you played Royal Rumble on DreamCast? I almost wanna say that's my favorite WWF/WWE game ever but Raw on og Xbox is great too. Or was I suppose.
