new Thread Description
Wow, can't believe it's been more than a year since we started RTT. I feel like we have become a community of our own within GameTZ. We have our regulars and even some new comers. I hope 2018 brings us more like-minded retro gamers who will come here for a place of retro inspiration. When I started Retro Trade Thead (RTT), it was called "The Retro Trading Thread", kinda like how FB was "The Facebook", heh, I was just hoping for a group of retro gamers who share the passion and the thrill of collecting and playing Retro games. The result so far has exceeded my expectations and more. I am playing more retro games than ever and while my collecting is on and off, I know I have been enjoying more retro gaming in 2017 than my previous 5 years combined. I hope RTT members have similar experiences. 2018 will be an even better year, as we have established group events like RTT Secret Santa and our monthly Game of the Month, which is getting more popular as more people participate. I am hoping to bring RTT Podcast in 2018 where 2-3 RTT members will talk about monthly topics and other aspects of retro collecting.

Retro game buying and selling, collecting, playing, collectarding, upscaling, speedrunning....whatever your retro passion is, RTT will have a place for you and for everyone who participates in our discussions, whether occasionally or frequently, will continue to find value and fun in our thread.

Thank you for participating and making RTT the hottest topic every month in 2017!

Old Topic Description

This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Bro, it's not a buzzword. It makes the cable $22 better. You didn't spend all this money on retro games, hardware, video gear, displays, and mods to NOT make your cable $22 better did you?

Damn! What a bummer! I'm happy I got my orders in over the past couple of years. I bought TONS from them. Hopefully it hits them in the wallet and they bring them back.

SFCs still $5 auctions. They must have entire warehouses full of SFCs no one wants.

I'd take a SFC but not for any prices anyone's listing. One that didn't look pale yellow with power and AV, I'd probably go $35-40 shipped. As it is, throwing another $40 on top to just get a SNES Classic instead's a better investment.

Someone tell me why I should spend twice as much to get a PS4 Pro. I need some sort of 4K display don't I?

I like the new white color though.

As someone who had a PS4 pro, you don't need a PS4 pro.

If you don't have a 4K display, you definitely don't need it. If you do, you probably still don't need it. It made games that had 4K enhancements look better on the TV but it's only really useful for huge displays. Put it this way, I had a 4K TV and a a PS4 pro, sold the PS4 pro and got a slim.

If I had an OLED 4K display I might bother with it. For your average 4K display, fudge it. It's not worth the $200 price bump to get boosted performance on the few games that do run like crap on PS4.

I have a ps4pro and feel like the jump from og ps4 was hardly noticeable. The xbox one x on the other hand is ballin compared to the og xbone. SO much smaller, no power brick, noticeably faster in the games with enhancements.

I was thinking 10 dollars each on a couple of them plus whatever shipping is. But it'll be a few days till I can pay you so if you sell the whole bundle in the meantime I wouldn't be mad atcha! I know those are priced to move. 😊

Looks like shipping's about $16, estimated. I can make it $14 and eat the difference if it's more, or refund if it's less. Don't have exact weight. If I can fit it into a medium box, don't know because I haven't tried, but it'd be that flat rate.

If you don't mind a digital library a PSVR is very worth it. I'm kinda waiting a gen or two to see where VR is.

Same..I'm waiting for better controls in vr and smaller headsets. May never happen..I don't like motion control so I don't know what they would do for me to think its something i want

On the tcl tvs.. for under 800 or so dollars some of their models are super good. THey are among the best value for the money under 7-800 bucks. I have a couple of their 240 dollar jobs for the kids to game on and they are great for the money.

Man, been busy rearranging my gaming corner. I took down all the games from my one bookshelf, did I realize how much crap I have. Prob not much compared to some of you guys but for this tiny apartment with two kids, yea I need to continue to downsize.

Looks like I got like one day left to beat SoR wince
Gonna try it on Steam today, just easier...sorry original hardware 😖

I tried to get to one bookshelf, but guides make that impossible, I gotta get a second bookshelf, but I have an old cabinet I can move or get rid of to make a space for it. I need to reinforce or get something stronger than those wal mart particle board jobs, one of my guide shelves is bowing from the weight lol.

For the Arcade Archives what is the prefered system to get it on? Assuming that they are on multiple systems?

If you're only shipping a 3-4oz package it's not too bad, but the prices scale more often and higher than before if it's more than that.

it was inevitable I guess but that does kinda suck, especially since it seems slower lately too.
