new Thread Description
Wow, can't believe it's been more than a year since we started RTT. I feel like we have become a community of our own within GameTZ. We have our regulars and even some new comers. I hope 2018 brings us more like-minded retro gamers who will come here for a place of retro inspiration. When I started Retro Trade Thead (RTT), it was called "The Retro Trading Thread", kinda like how FB was "The Facebook", heh, I was just hoping for a group of retro gamers who share the passion and the thrill of collecting and playing Retro games. The result so far has exceeded my expectations and more. I am playing more retro games than ever and while my collecting is on and off, I know I have been enjoying more retro gaming in 2017 than my previous 5 years combined. I hope RTT members have similar experiences. 2018 will be an even better year, as we have established group events like RTT Secret Santa and our monthly Game of the Month, which is getting more popular as more people participate. I am hoping to bring RTT Podcast in 2018 where 2-3 RTT members will talk about monthly topics and other aspects of retro collecting.

Retro game buying and selling, collecting, playing, collectarding, upscaling, speedrunning....whatever your retro passion is, RTT will have a place for you and for everyone who participates in our discussions, whether occasionally or frequently, will continue to find value and fun in our thread.

Thank you for participating and making RTT the hottest topic every month in 2017!

Old Topic Description

This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I think OutRun 2006 should be the same for the basic OutRun mode, which is on PS2 and PSP. There's also a PC port.

If it was worth the gas I'd go get it for you.

@WithinTemptation I've actually been out that way twice someone recently. Once to pick up a top tier CRT monitor for free and the other time to get my power amp repaired. I have no problem going far for something I want but having to schedule time to do it when it would be for someone else and gas cost would kill any deal I could give makes it a no go. :(

Don't worry @Gypsy I know you would. I know a lot of ppl here would help me out. I intend to get the SE even if I have to pay $30 extra. I goofed as in I thought I pre-ordered it but didn't.

Yeah I love RE4 and also the remake of 1 both on GC are 2 of my favorites. I'm looking forward to the supposed RE2 remake coming.

So everyone I lowered my Nintendo Wii *u* set to $350 + ship. Also games are now available seperately so hit me up if you want parts of it. Also I have some pics of my super mint SNES set. So the Sega CD boxes and Super Nintendo boxed is available now. Hit me up!

Well I guess on that recommendation I better open my sealed copy soon. Do you suppose Umjammer Lammy is a kid friendly game? I can only play certain things with my nephews since my sister is convinced games are sorta evil.

I started playing ORC since I figured it wasn't part of the main series ..... I still mean to try it again one day but I'm not into fps games which I'm not really Sure what ORC is but it felt like that to me.

At least with GTA V and San Andreas that's not the whole game and it's pretty simplified compared to an actual FPS.

I barely even started it. But I can trudge throughanything if I know there's probably something there I want to find. I want more resident evil storylines which is the main draw of the first two in my opinion although I love the mansion and the monsters in the first one. It was a beautiful game!

There are a million versions of the game and I'm sure they are all the same for scoring.

For anyone wondering this game is super accessible. PS1, DC, GBC, PSN and phones (I'm not an expert on this so I couldn't tell you what phones).

@ErickRPG has one unless he sold it. It's probably MINT.

Great game and one that survived my recent US SCD/Saturn purge but yeah the price is kinda nuts.

Its prob the OSSC. Change to 3x Lines and make sure its in 4:3 in that mode. I've found that to be the best setting 95% of the time

Well I'm not sure if it's price or people lol I'm seeing nice copies in the 200 range all the way up to 400+. It's ridiculous lol

By the way, I'm back on team DVDO, just got a Edge 101! Works great in the living room now that I rearranged the LR, should be doing alot of my playing on the sofa.

I've had copies sell for $350+ on eBay. But I think the average is around $300 with more minty copies go for a little more on eBay. I've traded one or two on GTZ for around $275

Well it is people paying the prices so people are definitely nuts too. Hell I'm guilty of it myself.

I started on Mana Khemia 2 tonight. Using my 30 to get it on a CRT monitor outputting to VGA. It's crispy.

Team DVDO's been lacking without you. It's nice to see you back all the way since... January 21. You doing OSSC > DVDO, or using it separately?

I'm not quite sure they are lol. 2 sold over 300 in last 15 sells and it looks like the same game. Most are between 200 and 250.

Separately. I have it in the living room and its playing nicely with 1080p machines, where as the VP30 had ringing artifacts.

Edge 101 popped up for a good price so I nabbed it. Thanks to @PlayYing for passing along those BNC cables from @RobotVendingMachine

I'm using the OSSC in my desktop set up.

Keep looking at it on eBay then. It won't likely pop up for $250, let alone $200 in the collector infested wildwest like GTZ.

Unless it's a really beat up copy.

I think we've had disc only copies even go for $100-$150 in trades here.
