Let's Play Together! Game of the Month Every month, RTT gets together and brainstorms two choices to vote as the Let's Play Together! Game of the Month. Upon completion of the GotM, you will be rewarded with an Achievement Icon! Let's play some awesome games together!
Thread Description Wow, can't believe it's been more than a year since we started RTT. I feel like we have become a community of our own within GameTZ. We have our regulars and even some new comers. I hope 2018 brings us more like-minded retro gamers who will come here for a place of retro inspiration. When I started Retro Trade Thead (RTT), it was called "The Retro Trading Thread", kinda like how FB was "The Facebook", heh, I was just hoping for a group of retro gamers who share the passion and the thrill of collecting and playing Retro games. The result so far has exceeded my expectations and more. I am playing more retro games than ever and while my collecting is on and off, I know I have been enjoying more retro gaming in 2017 than my previous 5 years combined. I hope RTT members have similar experiences. 2018 will be an even better year, as we have established group events like RTT Secret Santa and our monthly Game of the Month, which is getting more popular as more people participate. I am hoping to bring RTT Podcast in 2018 where 2-3 RTT members will talk about monthly topics and other aspects of retro collecting.
Retro game buying and selling, collecting, playing, collectarding, upscaling, speedrunning....whatever your retro passion is, RTT will have a place for you and for everyone who participates in our discussions, whether occasionally or frequently, will continue to find value and fun in our thread.
Thank you for participating and making RTT the hottest topic every month in 2017!
Old Topic Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.
We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates. There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room. I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them. There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.
Old Old Topic Description
GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is . I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).
No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.
Some examples:
- WTTF/WTB/LF - What you think is awesome game/series/whatever - Potential games you have up for trade - Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever - Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

> This topic makes me beg the question, Unreal Tournament or Quake 3 Arena? For me
> it was always UT!
I only ever played Quake and unreal games on my Dreamcast and OG Xbox. The only shooters I played on pc was way back when I was still a teen, and they were Doom (of course) and Heretic (or Hexen I can't remember which was the original name on pc) maybe wolfenstein 3d at some point. And yes I REALLY liked Heretic (or Hexen whatever) even compared to Doom.
Anyways as far as comparing those two game series I always preferred Unreal. Those were the types of fps games I really liked besides Doom. Anything with a more arcade feel to it is fun. Kinda why the Dreamcast was such a great System.

When Quake III came out I was slightly disappointed. I LOVE Quake single player so it felt too eSports-y before that was even a thing. Not like I didn't buy Team Arena as soon as I could though. Just focused on fast paced deathmatch, the gameplay is outstanding though.
UT99 I always thought was amazing and I've played the crap out of it.
For me UT99 = Quake > UT2K4 > Quake III > Most other video games.
I remember sitting on my grandparents couch unwrapping Unreal Tournament 2003 for Christmas and feeling like the future was now. Little did I know it was going to be utterly obsolete in 2 months to the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo.

No way congrats! I actually kinda wanted the safari hunt game even though I technically can't play it. Unless I get all kinds of extra stuff just to play it lol.
Yeah I would've passed on it until I saw him mention he had a gun in another thread so I grabbed it. It's untested but I'm sure it's fine. He's only charging me 10 bucks which is a nice price.
Well I gotta get to work when I'm feeling better then. I'll let you know when I finally add stuff. Of course just so you know @Gypsy I'm only adding it to my collection which you can always browse and ask about stuff.
I just don't want to deal with random people lowballing me if I leave stuff in my available list is all.
Faceball Final Fight Tetris 2 (WARNING NOT TETRIS) UN Squadron (This cart is beat like a lil dog, heavy wear and a small crack on the back. It does play though).
$30
I can probably also throw in a random SFC cart, if this interests anyone...
I used store credit on the Microsoft store when I bought that VR headset, now that I returned it what the hell do I do with 200.00 Microsoft/Xbox credit?
