I've had some issues with Taito Legends 1 and 2 on my 80gb PS3, if anyone has that game and has the 60gb or 20gb model, let me know if you have the issues as well. I'm talking particularly about bubble bobble.

DVDO VP20 - $140 (Might not be readily available, but there are other similar options) BNC to Scart Cable - $40 (Might be cheaper if you dig around forums, but I just bought it off eBay) Genesis/Saturn/SNES Scart cables - $10 each (eBay) DA Converter for Audio - $15 (since I don't have a sound system/receiver)
I also ordered a scart switch(not the $250 gscartsw DefaultGen has) for convenience of not having to reconnect Scart cables each time I want to play a different system
backward compatibility for the PS3 with PS2 games is as follows on NTSC-U/C systems:
CECHBxx 20GB (4 USB slots, fat, no longer in production) - YES CECHAxx 60GB (4 USB slots, fat, no longer in production) - YES CECHExx 80GB with 4 USB slots (fat, no longer in production) - YES 40GB (2 USB slots, fat) - NO 80GB with 2 USB slots (fat) - NO 160GB (2 USB slots, fat) - NO 120GB/slim (2 USB slots) - NO 250GB/slim (2 USB slots) - NO any and all other PS3s - NO
Looks like we have quite a bit of info on upscaling just from the random discussions. When I get some time to sit down and look over the info, I'll add the evergreen info and links to OP so if anyone decides to get into it, there will be some reading material to readily digest.
My cables should arrive tomorrow, will be able to test CDX, SNES and Saturn over RGB. It will be my first time hooking up to RGB ever so I'm pretty stoked.
I actually bought one similar to this and now I cannot recommend it.
Provided they are similar units.
Here's a photo I made earlier comparing the difference. You're going to have to click on the link and zoom in to see the effects.
Top left is composite naturale, top right is composite through DVDO VP20(not much a difference, unless you really zoom in and check every line). Bottom left is AV to HDMI. See the jagged lines? It actually looks worse than regular composite.
