A few thoughts...
Age is a count of how many years someone has been alive. A biological fact. Irreversible.
Chinese is a nationality. One can move to China and become Chinese if they so desire.
Sex is a biological identity.
Gender is a cultural/social identity.
Sex and gender aren't the same thing. One can't reverse age to become a child again. If science gets us there someday then great. Science has made it possible to change ones biological sex. So if someone wants to change their biological sex and become a woman then great. If they want to move to China and call themself Chinese then great. Neither of these things affect me personally.
On an unrelated note, people say she wouldn't have gotten the pardon if she wasn't transgender. Maybe. I also think there would be far less vitriol and anger towards her and the commute of her sentence if she wasn't transgender.
And of course we can agree to disagree on this @Scott. I was just answering this from my perspective.
