The only thing I know is the os marries the drive to that system and the only other thing I can think off is it's not registering the correct port

no hdmi output on the battery, I saw one on a kick-starter type site and they are asking $150 and should be out on the market.

I saw this as a way to protect my switch and have extra battery life ,having usb ports is nice to, if you want you can find a usb-c to hdmi adapter for $20 still under $40 total

i think you can scan a upc and get it through disc to digital with your phone on the vudu app
