Holy crap, I was just about to post something similar to this! I have been playing Andromeda non-stop for the past week. I really do not know why this game got so much hate. It must have been because of the bugs and glitches before the 10 patches that followed because other than that yes, I also think it's a refreshing take on a new Mass Effect universe and could be a great start to a new trilogy. Right now I'm on Kadara and cannot leave this and each new world until I 100% restore it to form. I love how each world has it's set of faults and hazards that you need to figure out how to clean up and handle to restore it to viable condition. The characters are likable too. I chose female Ryder and she's pretty cool. The combat is also pretty top notch for me. I'd give it an 8/10 thus far, even though I still have a ways to go to the end.
