It made me realize I have enough stuff to do a few more of these. I'm calling them Mysterious Boxes rather than Mystery Boxes. Why? Because I'm showing you 3-4 themed items that will already be in the box and that already value roughly $50. You already know you're getting your money's worth. But on top of that, I will load a priority medium flat rate box with more stuff on top of the items that are revealed. I'll include more stuff related to the theme (some of which has hints under the box description) and additional gaming/electronics/collectibles/odd trinkets. If you tell me what game consoles you have and what kind of phone you use, I'll tailor the items or at least not include stuff you can't use. So, buy the $50 Mysterious box with $50 worth of revealed items and a bunch of free stuff that you should like if you already like the revealed items! It's a win-win situation!

The first thing I saw was the reusable bag. I actually really appreciated that. Many local stores have now stopped supplying bags. Perfect timing!
That predator cover, wow. Spooky to look at.
Just reading the titles of some of those movies brought me way back. Haven't seen those in ages.
Happens to be I was looking for a new book to read too. Glad there was a book.
Those figures :)
I'm not entirely sure what the leather thing is intended to hold, but I think I know what I'm going to use it for (see pics).
Very satisfied with this mysterious box purchase.
These surprise type things remind me of grab bag day way back in elementary school. Everyone brings a gift and puts it into a non transparent bag. Everyone then reaches in and pulls out a gift (if you pick your own you throw it back in and pick again). One of the best days of the school year.
I do still have some Region A Arrow stuff I'm looking to get rid of, but it's pretty weirdo/obscure stuff (even for Arrow). The couple I have that are more mainstream (Oldboy, Creepshow 2) are Region B. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you a list. I also have some Scream Factory.
Included are pics from Ronin's spectacular box of crap. I misread and didn't grasp that MGS Twin Snakes was missing a disc, now I have to find it's long lost twin, but got some very cool things (Mario Coin) and usable practical stuff for my Iphone. The Blu Rays were an awesome addition as I love both Kill Bill movies and that is my favorite X Men movie included as well.
This was the #6 box. The box was not remotely full, and aside from this was just a bunch of worthless crap like a blue moon bottle opener, random loose iphone accessories, a sample-size nutrition supplement, and a joy-con dock.
I'm sorry you weren't happy with what you received. As with the others, you were guaranteed the listed items and I did my best to include additional stuff that I thought you'd enjoy. It's a shame you purchased two of the boxes when this type of thing was clearly not a good fit.
> You know exactly what you did. The second box was the same. Everything that wasn't
> listed was worthless crap.
> It is what it is. I gave you all excellents because you didn't lie, you sent when
> you said you were, and you weren't discourteous in the communication, but that's
> definitely fudgeed up.
You've always been nice to deal with. I'm sorry you were disappointed with this. I sent very similar items to every person on here (with possibly the exception of thenadz, which wasn't actually part of this) and nobody else seemed upset with what they received. And if they had been, I'd hope they would reach out and see if we could figure something out rather than sending me messages like this: "Go fudge yourself you piece of crap. You know exactly what you did you worthless scumbag."
I enjoyed putting these boxes together and really hoped people would enjoy receiving them. I didn't think I billed this as a way to flip things and make money on the box, but a fun way to buy a bundle of things you wanted and get a few surprises along with it. This has reinforced that mystery boxes are a bad idea (even though I tried to take most of the mystery out of them) and I'm not going to be doing any more of these.
EDIT: To add, the extras I included in the second box were a DVD copy of the Matrix (original snapper case), the first season of Lost, Bioshock 2 for PS3, a couple postcard size movie posters for Robocop and Waterworld, a paperback copy of HG Well's the Time Machine, along with a few random iPhone/iPad accessories. I had fun putting the box together and thought it fit the sci-fi theme, even though they weren't valuable items.
> There is definitely no implied "you can profit" in the op. I read it as if you like
> what is pictured then go for it and get some small extras too.
That's kind of how I looked at it when I went for one of them. I liked the genre of my box and I liked the mystery items component (that was pretty much the primary reason I went for it). I viewed part of the cost as being an investment for something entertaining. As a whole, I view it as investing into an enjoyable experience. What happens with the items after, that's secondary. You keep some, maybe sell others, maybe gift others, etc.
Would you pay $50 to go rock climbing? Possibly not. But would you pay $50 to go rock climbing with a good friend? Maybe. (Feel free to insert some other activity you'd prefer over rock climbing). What you're paying for is the experience. Some might ask "is it really worth the exact dollar amount?" Who knows. But how do you measure dollar amounts when there's an entertainment factor involved?
That's how I view it anyway.
I liked the concept of a mysterious box, so I went for it, and at the end of the day I enjoyed the experience.
You know exactly what you did. The items previewed should be on similar quality to the items remaining. Otherwise, it's a bait and switch. I know a lot of these guys don't like me, and that's ok, but they wouldn't be happy with the boxes either. You made a dick move. I called you out on it. End of story. I don't care who disagrees with me. I didn't rate you down because I took the risk, but just like my canceled trades, this is here, so people can decide if they want to take your future boxes seeing what you do. I didn't ask for a debate. This is just my opinion, and I'm entitled to it.
Out of curiosity, I looked up the pricecharting prices for just the games in box #6, and they total up to about $56. I'm not saying you couldn't get them for cheaper, but that seems reasonable to me. (For the record, I don't dislike anyone involved.)

You are entitled to your opinion and it's completely different than mine. I wouldn't expect the mystery items to be of equal value to the ones I listed by the description I put. I don't think any of the other buyers did and they all have had plenty of time to say so if that's the case (I hope it isn't). I specifically asked people to post exactly what they received in the original post, because I wanted everyone to know what they got.
Anyways, I'm fine with you having posted this here. I think it reflects as much on you as a trader as it does on me.
These boxes look awful, especially since the big selling point for one of them was just "half a video game", but at the same time, what exactly did you expect was going to be lying in wait for you, a whole xbone?
> I like how both butt-holes talking crap about the boxes are merely "sharing their opinions."
> Take a fudging hike
ok sped. You want to come at me trying to lump me in with the other guy; why don't you show the rest of the class the PMs where i tell the guy "fudge you" for sending me the box i didn't buy, me accusing him of crap or anything more substantial than "that box wasn't good, here's a reason why.".
Wasn't there someone who did a mystery's box and one of the mystery items was a CIB secret of evermore among other cool gaming things? Maybe Whitefire thought it wasn't going to be like that, even though I think that mystery box was the exception to most.
These boxes are clearly designed around themes and with things the owner wants to get rid of from him home. I'm not sure I'd expect anything other than the random themed stuff your email getting. That isn't meant as an insult, i think the themed boxes are a neat idea.
> I got the star wars box and it was awesome ill later get some pics.
I got the sci-fi/fantasy box. Very much enjoyed it. And I think I'd go for another one in the future if given the opportunity. Now if only someone would put together a Nintendo/Snack/85%+ Dark chocolate themed mystery box...
I'm totally considering doing a mystery box set up. Might be a fun way to unload some of my available list, as well as all of the items I've neglected to list/post.
Do you guys prefer mystery boxes set up like Ronin's, to where you see part of the box, and the rest is a total surprise, or the other way, where you receive a giftwrapped present and are given hints as to what was packed inside?
