Laptop or desktop. Maybe 2.4ghz? My grandmother wanted a new computer and she didn't like the prices on eBay

Ok. I would check Craigslist, or newegg sometimes has stuff like that, probably not at a low price though.

What does your grandma do on a computer? A Chromebook would be a great option if all she does is email, browsing. The battery life is great, they run smooth and perform much better than a cheap Windows machine

I can recommend both Newegg and Walmart. Newegg has ton of pre-built desktops that would be plenty strong enough for her needs. Walmart is know to discount their older PCs as well. She could get a Dell for less than $300, including a monitor and cheap keyboard/mouse.

I'd recommend Newegg over Wally world, but that's just because I'm bias and love Newegg.

Newegg is great.
Walmart is wonderful and their extended service plan is $14 for 3 years.
I got a decent refurbished HP desktop to use as a media center for $150

Sorry guys haven't really been on the site in a while.

After taking some of your suggestions. I decided to look on Craigslist and the like since my local Goodwill's etc are complete crap and are filled with clothes from 1940-2000ish more than anything.

I found a complete computer. Compaq Persario desktop. Little old. It uses DDR2 memory it's so old. But I put in an an Athlon x2 CPU and it runs snappily. Paid $45.

She's liking it so far. All she does is Facebook Gaming and reading. Maybe stream the WWE Network for the PPview matches that's it.

Had to show her how to use Windows 7 and not Vista. Not much a change.
