Where is it? And what exactly is this guy filming there?

He's this youtube personality that seems to get lots of views by filming stuff. Samsung paid him last year to film a promo video.

I'm guessing this is going to be a electric skateboarding thing but who knows. I used to hang out at this mall as a kid. Here's the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northridge_Mall_(Milwaukee)

It sits back about a block or so from the corner of North 76th and Brown Deer Rd. It's a mirror image of Southridge. I pitched it to Midwest Gaming Classic on their Facebook page but was told it wouldn't ever be feasible. I don't think anyone ever checked it out really. The current owners have tried renting out portions of it without much interest. There's really no rules in place for anyone that wants to rent it out. As long as they don't totally demolish the place, anything goes really. That's probably why it's appealing to a youtube celebrity.

A company bought it out and never used it for anything. They had this grand idea to turn it into a international Asian marketplace. It was exciting because we don't really have any Asian markets here like Chicago does, except for Phongsaven which is tiny by comparison. Then it flopped. The mayor recently pitched it as a potential site for a new Amazon headquarters/distribution center when they expand. It won't happen though.

So this is what he did to the mall. He only used one wing of the mall though.

The sad thing is that these people get all the recognition (guys who profit millions), but the social worker busting his/her ass every day 8+ hours a day and making 40k/year gets constant crap/little to no acknowledgement.

Exactly. Plus those kids are going to take that loot home so the parents can pawn it.

He implied he was going to use the whole mall, but instead only used one wing. I'm curious to what his budget was?

Social worker making 40K a year? Maybe if they're the manager over many social workers, otherwise think half that.

I know someone who went to USC and started at $33/hr 3 years ago, right out of college. It depends on your level of education, what you do, what state you're in, and whether you are licensed.

I know it's really low pay here regardless. I'm sure there's states that pay more.

I'd imagine the money, time and effort needed to get the whole of the mall "up to code" so that he could use it was pretty bad, he was stepping on glass everyfudgingwhere. Keeping it in one section was probably the best most cost-effective solution.

That looks a lot cooler than a skateboarder tearing ass through an empty mall anyways, frankly
