Regardless of the humor in a video, AFV voters were incredibly sympathetic toward children. A high percentage of the kid videos that won were simply kids being kids. They sang off key, got the words to a song wrong, acted up during a play, made a move something that highlighted their poor coordiation, etc.
I often found myself asking the question, "why was this being recorded?" Particularly n the pre-digital days, one had to make a serious effort to get out the video camera to record something and there was no simply way to share it with family and friends. Did they really think they were going to watch their DIY project or tree removal in the future - or share it with family and friends?
