I went to Panera this morning and got 2 Everything Bagels and they were legit good. I eat my bagels with just butter. I am not a fan of cream cheese.

There's a place in Oxford, Ohio called Bagel Deli. They have a garlic bagel that is amazing when warmed and used for sandwiches. Never been able to find anything close

Haha I'm just being salty. Place was a garbage establishment to work at. Though I did do the overnight baking for a year so if you have any specific questions on some of the product, I'll open the floor for some hard-hitting questions haha

I get blueberry bagels and put cream cheese on there or regular bagels with strawberry jelly.

Everything with plain cream cheese is one of my favorites, toasted, but if I've got a sweet tooth and wanna double up, Cinnamon Crunch with Hazelnut CC. That's just filthy sweet.

French toast is a good adult choice for sweet. Put whatever on it, I can eat those with butter. Make great breakfast sandwiches.

Asiago with plain, I'll take three. Man, I hate 80% of what their food menu's become but their bagels and breakfast sandwiches are still dope. I keep forgetting how much I enjoy Panera bagels. Everything was a lot better with a 70% meal discount though!

Violent! As a cashier turned line turned prep turned catering stay catering almost coordinator but peaced out, I'm of the opinion that Panera's bagels are still quite dope. Maybe that's the gratuity talking, managers got crap on in that store and I felt bad for them

I took zero crap from anyone while in that job. The regional manager would come in and I'd always make comments about how his super upscale business man shirt looked like graph paper right to his face, in front of employees. Couldn't have cared less. It wasn't until they hired cashiers at my pay rate that I said "fudge this place".

The bagels/baked goods are good depending on the baker. In my area, the bakers are all strung out oddities who just want to get their shifts overwith. I had to cover for their craptiness while I was a baker, and that's why I left that position haha

Yeah, the pay for the responsibilities was ass. Our location had some good bakers though so we rarely had any product issues unless they were late coming in or something

Wonder if they still let the bakers smoke in the cafes...

Lol they didn't in my cafe. Had to go out back for that. Surprising considering they let the resident heroin addict halfway pass out in the salad station after either booting in the bathroom or puking in the bathroom daily.

I've never really thought about it. I'd probably take some bagel breakfast sandwich over anything, but most bagels with just regular cream cheese are pretty good.

Panera at least bakes them fresh. They are opening a New York Bagel Co. across the street that I will check out once it opens.

Yah, fresh for the morning - and not "dough made in the cafe" fresh. They're still all shipped over night in cabinets. After the first hour or two of the place being open, most of the bagels on the bagel wall start to get a bit hard. It's rare that they go overboard with ordering bagels day-to-day (unless it's bagel tuesday) so it's rare that there are ever extras to bake off during the day to keep them fresh.

Panera sure is good at making people think they're eating top of the line though.

I went to Zabars (https://www.zabars.com/just-bagels-and-lox-kit/C11...) once to try their bagel and Lox based on a friends recommendation and some internet research... I was pretty disappointed. Never tried it again elsewhere, as if this place was supposed to be one of the best I would hate to try a sub par version.

You really ONLY can get good ones in New York or anywhere with an abundant Italian/Hebrew population. It would be like going for spaghetti at a Indian restaurant otherwise. Regular lox is too salty anyway, try Salmon!

I had a garlic and an Asiago from Einstein on Saturday, and I left the Garlic (sliced) in the bag until Sunday. For some reason, I liked the Asiago with cream cheese the same day better than the Garlic with nothing a day later, but I did eat all the garlic bagel, hard as it was. That must say something about the Garlic. But Asiago's still my favorite. Panera would have been another half hour walk from my location, Einstein's only about fifteen minutes or so away. In general I like Panera's bagel selection much more. And their asiago bagel's less of a bagel, but it's still better than Einstein's take. Will take more cheese over more bagel shape, please
