Going to camp tomorrow morning, after see if I can get a LG Blount or Marcellus! Wallace (Bennett) jersey on clearance at the pro shop. Interested to see Cooks and new guys in action.
Anybody else checking out their teams in camp?
We also decided that while we still like the Falcons, the Eagles are our favorite NFC squad.
Nothing political until you brought it up. He was cut due to injury, and stating he wasn't playing after this season.
Richard Sherman out for the year, and Seattle continues to play sloppy. They got the W though.
"I'm the best Achilles ripper in the game. Don't you talk about me".
> He was smart. GB going nowhere.
> He was like oh yeah. Deadline coming? My arm really hurts. Lol.
Torn rotator cuff. Yeah, no...
Ok so NFC open for bidness again , eagles and rams excited, saints going nuts. Sup with Zeke this week?
> He doesn't throw balls. Juice him up good to go.
> If it really is. He practiced today, passed physicals and exams.
Torn rotator cuff and labrum, which I'd assume makes it difficult to raise your arm to catch and hold onto the ball while being tackled. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21362068/new-en...
This is interesting, they were talking surgery prior to his release. More Pat's shenanigans?
Pats keeping their opponents guessing.
lol, They should keep activating and deactivating him all season. Belichikian.
Both him and Gronk will be listed as "questionable" or "game time decision" all season long.
How bad do the Bears suck?
> How bad do the Bears suck?
Not quite as much as the Ravens, Panthers and Steelers?
The 49ers need to start kicking the tires on Jimmy G pretty soon don't they? I know they won today but since this season is ruined isn't the future the number one priority now? Mess around and buy an unknown, big money qb contact like Brock Osweiller got.
Beathard not part of the future? I wouldn't throw Garrapolo out there until he grasps the offense. If they need to franchise him so be it, they have cap space. Open competition next year. Start Jimmy if he's ready after CJ struggles next.
49ers probably don't want Jimmy G injured if they're trying to tank the season and get a good draft pick next year.
Man. I need to see the doctor who cured Martellus Bennett in 48 hours.
From "needing surgery" to dressing for another team in 2 days.
> It's a bad look for the patriots taking that lying quitter.
Certainly doesn't live up to that high level of NE integrity!!
> Steelers have to be the worst 7-2 team. They are such garbage with the easiest schedule
As a Steelers fan, I agree with this. They have too many weapons to be looking this bad.
if Tomlin and his crew just don't rely on the cover 2 zone against NE, they certainly can compete home or away. Looks like Haden will be back in plenty of time for playoffs? That will help.
I was just shocked how NE drove Denver nuts last night with backs, incredible they can come up with varied offensive game plans. It would help if other AFC teams could get their special teams in order too if they want to get to the promised land.

I guess we'll see how much of his story was just not wanting to play once A. Rodgers went down. His actions really forced this reaction from Green Bay. First he announces that he's retiring at the end of the year. Second he decides he's going to shut HIMSELF down for the bulk of the year. He had to know that getting cut was the most logical outcome. Having said that, I don't totally blame him with wanting to play for a team with a legit shot at a Super Bowl. I'm sure that's what most players want, but the way he's going about it sets a bad example for the rest of the league. If this is became the norm we'd the league would loose all competitive balance. Do you think he's still planning on retiring or was that also a part of the story?
Yeah, I was editing my post when you typed that. I agree.
I doubt he's retiring.

Haden has a broken fibula, is that a short term injury? I assumed that would be IR.
How'd NE drive them nuts with backs? The stats don't show it, or are you talking about their D-backs? Denver looks like a team that has quit. The D is still talented, but they aren't motivated. (I didn't watch)
i heard as little s 3 weeks out for haden, usually max six weeks, may be hairline simple break
NE used White and Burkhead consistently as slot receivers against Bronco LBs, just ate them up, replays showed it clearly, plus a lttle Gronk and some Lewis runs, Denver D helpless. Gillislee was inactive too. Cookie and Dorsett decoys, even forced Von Miller to cover TE Allen for a TD.
really masterful . AFC coaches best be sharp for the big games, PATS have such an advantage there.
My fantasy RB's suck, and NE has a cushy schedule. Lewis or Burkhead the rest of the way?
good question, as you know the PATS vary offensive plan and featured players every single game, but barring injury Lewis should get more touches than Burkhead over rest of sched. Burkhead has made plays though, hope he can avoid more injury time out.
I somewhat disagree on Steelers. I think it's fair to say they're the least impressive 7-2 team in the league and it definetly hurts me to watch them (and I'm a steelers fan too) but that's mostly due to bad playcalling and playing down to their opponents, as well as ben himself simply not being what he used to be. I think right now they're on cruise control and being dumb as usual but I have faith that when they show up to the big games that they'll look every bit a top team. I'm really looking forward to their match with the patriots and if they can avoid injury, I really wanna see how far they can go in the playoffs.
Speaking of teams that don't look their record, are the dolphins really 4-5? Talk about a deceiving record, they look every bit a 0-9 team to me.
Steelers have as good a chance at anyone at the Big Game at the end, but they have to have smarter coaching overall and good player discipline on stupid roughing and procedure penalties in big games. Ben and Antonio play big, I think Bell is still unproven.
That Indy game said a lot, if that idiot tight end doesn't step on his dick in his own end on that inexcusable interception, I think Indy holds on, and a Steeler loss there would have been a serious hit.
The biggest hurdle Steelers have is beating NE in the late playoff game, home or away. We will see if the regular season match at home gives them confidence they can win.
Still can't believe Dolphins traded Ajayi, and I agree they are fortunate to have that record. I thought Gase would be better, even with Cutler. Suh is such a waste of serious money.
So to generate more NFL talk, name your team, and your favorite players currently on your favorite team (doesn't have to be best or most productive):
Chiefs: Derrick Johnson, Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes.
Jets: Big mccown defender, I feel like I spent the last year defending him and can't tell you how happy I am at the year he's having.
Steelers: I love me some AB.
Packers: Mike Daniels, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Aaron Rodgers
What is everyone's fantasy record at this point? Lose anyone big to injury?
Also, we need the belated mid-season awards.
Coach: Sean McVay (Mike Zimmer)
MVP: Carson Wentz (Alex Smith)
OPotY: Kareem Hunt (Alex Smith)
DPotY: Jalen Ramsey (Calais Campbell) *Special shoutout to Micah Hyde, whom I miss and am rooting for.
ORotY: Kareem Hunt (Deshaun Watson)
DRotY: Marshon Lattimore (Tre'Davious White)
I like all of those really but I think Watson's probably the frontrunner for oroty. It's a little iffy since he only played half the season but what he did for his team vs what hunt has done, I think I'd still give it to him. Look at what the chiefs are without hunt then look at what the texans are without watson. Still, I wouldn't be upset if hunt took the crown there.
Offensive player of the year is the only I'd change. Not sure who I'd say yet but hunt definetly wouldn't be even top 5 imo. Still debating who I'd suggest. Gurley, Bell, Wentz come to mind.
Agreed. Payton could even be in the running for coach of the year. Though he'll have to settle for runner-up, along with doug peterson cause mcvay's taking it for sure.
I was stoked to grab Watson in my fantasy league only to get my hopes crushed about 2 weeks later.
Draftless Mahoney: 8-2
Not Da Bears: 6-4
Little Red Fournette: 5-5
I do one auto pick league every year. Sad to say my best team is the one I didn't draft.
> 49ers: CJ Beathard (one of my best friends went to Iowa)

Had Rogers, Pierre Garcon, and Cook, my season was decimated by injuries. Changed my team to IR All Stars.

IMHO, I agree with you except for the below changes.
OPotY : Carson Wentz (Alex Smith)
DPotY : Calais Campbell , he has totally revitalized the Jags defense and is a incredible leader and no offense to Ramsey, AJ Boyae is just as good, my runner up would be (and I hate to give props to the Titans, but Safety Kevin Bayrd)
ORotY: Kareem Hunt (4Nette)
Comeback player of the year : Adrian Peterson (Zeke /s)
OK, my fellow dogez, who you got for NFC champ?
I was a Seahawks guy, but Dick Sherman out may be a big deal.
Good as they look, I still have trouble with Eagles, Rams just because of big time experience.
for AFC, got to pick the PATS just on favoritism, but still think the Chiefs got the goods, unless they can't get over Steelers phobia.
If the seedings break right, Steelers could be in.
Everybody else in the AFC seems like cannon fodder for those 3.
yah, how could i forget the Saints? Brees big time player, they need #1 seed to go?
Sorry Feeb, that debacle against NE soured me on Falcons. UGA is rockin' though!
d3vanj been laying low on saints, worried about jinxing them?
Packers - It sounds like sound too obvious to say Aaron Rodgers so I'll go with Aaron Ripkowski. Hasn't quite reach John Kuhn level, but I'm a fan of the traditional fullback that will get you 1-2 yards every play.
Interesting turn, Nate Peterman (rookie out of Pitt) is starting over Tyrod for the Bills this week.
My team is 7-3 and in first. Notable losses: OBJ and Watson. Also had Luck, Montgomery, Bennett and Seabass drafted. The only players I drafted I'm starting week to week are AJ Green and Tyreek Hill. I'm not sure how I'm still in first as McCaffery is my leading RB. lol I'm not far off in points lead too, and this is a competitive league.
My team is 8-2, tied for first. I lead the league in scoring by far. Fortunate to not have had any real injury problems, except the one in my head for drafting Jordan Reed.
I'm 4-6 in fantasy after winning my last two games. Second in scoring in the 12 team league, but I'd just had some bad luck with matchups.
Nice game tonite for Steelers to build on and the Titans to demonstrate that they are actual contenders. I really think Murray and Henry should give Titans a hell of a ground game.
PS: New camera angle, you can all thank your beloved NE Patriots for forcing this innovation by ordering up fog!
> I love the new camera angle. You can see the WR routes and everything develope. Kinda

I like it to.. adds an interesting element to the game as you can see what the QB sees.. They just need to zoom out about 25% so you can see a bit more (make the width from sideline to sideline, and then zoom in on runs)

Any YouTube video online showing the new angle? Haven't seen it
Well, titans ain't ready, nice performance of Steeler D and offense at home. Titans should be better, Mularky moving on soon?
I do love watching Bell work, unique running style, has to stay healthy.
Jaguars actually have a good chance to win division, new guy in the playoffs, excellent!
Steelers can beat anybody else in playoffs, but it may be critical for them to get #1 seed if they want to get past NE. Pats are surprising me a lot, making do. Better than expected lately.
That 3rd TD catch by AB was a 1 handed helmet catch!image
Steelers great offensive weapons, improving D, but do you have confidence in Tomlin and staff making the right strategic and tactical game decisions in the playoffs? That's what would concern me.
Play cover 2 zone straight up all game against the Pats again, good luck with dat.
That 2nd half was the best football I've seen them play all year. If they can keep that same successful play calling, they will be hard to stop.
The defense is better this year but I think Brady can still chew them up. They are going to have to win in a shootout. I think this is Ben's last chance at another Superbowl.
That Bell TD call back was nuts.. They called him down at the 1 blade of grass line.. lol

Peterman is a local boy (St John's county near Jacksonville) so have followed him since high school, wish the Jags drafted him.
Curious why they are making every possible opportunity to suck this year? Watkins, Woods, Gilmore, Darius, all gone, now this? What a way to clean house, and wouldn't you want to tank before you won 5 games?

I hope it ends up in a few extra receptions for McCoy and Clay.
Agreed on WTF Buffalo, when they cleared house of name players for either money or attitude issues (still don't know what the story was with Gilmore to the Pats as FA, big money I guess) thought they had a rebuild plan, then they made some noise mid season.
Now they bench Taylor? Puzzling to me, thought that they thought he was the guy, he does have skillz.
Will try to check out Peterman on RedZone tomorrow.
