List a fun video game that you've played or want to play who's price is just too darn cost prohibitive to justify a purchase and begs to be re-released.

Sadly, there're more than a few I can think of that'd fit this category. But, the one that really stands out right now's gotta be Ninja Five-O (Game Boy Advance). Since not enough people got the chance to enjoy it, feel free to get an idea of what it's about by watching either of these two finely-crafted YouTube video reviews. Just click on the images below:

This thing totally flew under the radar when it was initially released. I remember finally giving it a shot when it was selling at GameStop for $4.99 and thinking, "This is fudging incredible! Why isn't everyone absolutely raving about this?!" I guess I was just a little ahead of the curve that time around. Anyhow, I'd love to see a re-release on either the Nintendo 3DS or the Nintendo Switch.

What do y'all think? What video game is just begging to be re-released on a modern-day console so more people can enjoy it? What have we all been missing?! smile

Metal Wolf Chaos. It's the best Xbox exclusive. I both think more people should play it, and that it would be funny if a console hurting for great exclusives had one of its very few exciting exclusives become obsolete. Better graphics would just be gravy.

PDS just so more people other than Sega super fanboys play it and we can get rid of this weird cult view that it's somehow the greatest game ever made.

Little Samson never got a re-release, despite Taito constantly whoring out all their old franchises. Not sure what's going on there, that game is awesome.

I'm totally with you there on Metal Wolf Chaos (Xbox). I've been wanting to try out that one ever since I saw it mentioned in an episode of Game Sack. As for Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn), I also completely and totally agree. I remember the same lofty praise given to Radiant Silvergun (Saturn) back before it received its digital release last generation. For cryin' out loud, I just wanna play the gosh darn thing! angry

Leave Radiant Silvergun alone. I was scared Microsoft was going to try to strongarm my domain name away from me when that got rereleased raspberry

Rule of Rose for PS2. Seeing that Sega reprinted Yakuza 2, there's a possibility that they can do Rule of Rose (they own Atlus).

I've played the first one, but not all the way through. I would love to play it on Switch...Never played Snatcher, but looks like the kind of game I would enjoy.

I would like to see sega really look at that atlus library, there are some treasures in there for sure.

id say suikoden 2, but ps1 emulation is so good and its on psn as well so its not at all inaccessible. same with tales of destiny and eternia/destiny 2.

panzer dragoon would be a good one, along with a few other Saturn ones, since emu is spotty there, but panzer dragoon and magic knight rayearth do run ok. albert odyssey too, burning rangers apparently does on mednafen but haven't tried.

id like to see snatcher and policenauts done, ive never played those. snatcher loads on emu but cant get it to play.

I ain't got nothin' but love for Treasure's treasure. But, just like Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn), it's availability just wasn't happenin'. I had to take it from the words of others just how great this title truly was. Thankfully, when it got its digital re-release, I was finally able to buy the damn sucker, try it out, and confirm that it was, indeed, the shiznit. wink

I would do unseemly things to consenting adults under an overpass if it meant getting a physical re-release of both those video games in a double-pack bundle. evil

For an unofficial Nintendo Entertainment System title, it technically received an equally unofficial re-release in a compilation from RetroZone known as Pirate Booty (Nintendo Entertainment System), seen here.

I would actually kind of like for the majority of the Saturn and DC's libraries to be re-released. So many hidden gems that, in the Saturn's case at least, are way too expensive to justify buying.

sadly konami not caring that much about games at all means a lot of their property is in danger... if only sega or someone could come in and acquire most of the good stuff. suikoden is another series doomed to oblivion by their love of pachinko.. I was hoping with the resurgence jrpgs have seen of late there might be word.

Definitely PDS.

Metal Wolf Chaos was a Japan only release, yes? I have wanted that game for a while and would love a release on the One. I have a friend in Japan for business right now and if he was more willing I would have him hunt down a copy of that and Dinosaur Hunting. frown

Metal Wolf Chaos is just one franchise MS needs to bring back. Even though it's easy and cheap to get MechAssault and Crimson Skies, they need current gen releases.

Tomb Raider 2 has been my dream of a remaster/release for a while. But I doubt we'll ever see it since they've moved onto a new likeness/reboot for Lara. That's ok too, the new one is great compared to what was out past 2001 or so.

I'm also still holding out hope for Heavenly Sword 2. butt-holes gave up on a gem.

Well crap I've been wrong on that for years. I wonder where I got Naughty Dog from?? Hell THEY need to buy it from Ninja Theory then. What the hell have they been working on?

I see they did Hellblade, I still need to pick that up and play it someday. It looks very similar to Heavenly Sword.

Ninja Five-O's a good choice, actually a decent game.

Personally I'd go with Dracula X (new, physical upscale, no more PSP crap), Pocky & Rocky and Metal Warriors. Also Metal Storm and Gun-Nac.

All the Soldier games off PCE.

It was like the Flagship launch game to get with PS3. I think sales were good, but I'm sure it cost a buttload of money to make. It had a pretty expensive cast. gosh darn it's a gorgeous game. Still probably one of my all time favorites. I haven't picked it up in several years, it might be time for a replay soon.

It sold 1.5 million copies which isn't bad, but I remember reading that production was so expensive that Ninja Theory wasn't able to break even. That's why they went multiplatform on their next game, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

I haven't been able to stop thinking about a potential sequel since I read your post yesterday. I would probably lose my mind if a sequel was announced at E3 or something.

Not really a launch game though since it was released almost a year after the PS3 launched. They were hyping it for a long time before it came out though. It looks as though its total sales were just over 1.5 million, not really too sure if that's good or not for last gen or not, but it ended up with an attach rate of about 1.8%.

What percentage of console owners bought a specific game for that console. In this case, only 1.8% of PS3 owners bought Heavenly Sword. I think right now Mario Odyssey probably has the highest attach rate of all current gen consoles at about 71%, or 71% of Switch owners have bought Odyssey.

the percantage of console owners that bought the game

its something ive always wanted to see too, now that we've seen beyond good and evil 2 it might not be out of the question, as next to half life 3 that was the other one i had accepted would never happen. and with hellblade being a success maybe we will see it one day.

I owned a mint, CIB copy of Ninja Five-O around 5-6 years ago and wound up selling it on Ebay for $50. That one still hurts. It's an awesome game though.

I would love to see re-releases of MUSHA and Ikaruga on a portable system or Switch. MUSHA was released on Wii, but I haven't touched my Wii for years. Ikaruga came out on 360 a while ago, but I don't even have a 360 anymore.

So many arcade games, but I'd start with Track & Field, Tapper, and Ice Cold Beer. With the rise of the barcade, I think all would be decent sellers. With Track & Field perhaps they could combine it with Hyper Sports.

PS: Probably wishful thinking that they could beat the current used prices though. Most new basic arcade games retail for $2,000 - $4,000. At that price, you'd be able to find use versions of these games. It just seems like they should be able to produce and assemble them for around $500. If priced around $1,000, I'd likely be a buyer.
