I see a lot of them on ebay they must not be anything official since they are so cheap

NES emulator with a bunch of pirated games built in. And look-alike controllers and such.

Riding the "Nintendo didn't make enough NES Classics" wave...

These are all over my local Craigslist and Facebook. Lots of people getting in on the AliExpress bootleg game.

They announced that they're going to rerelease the nes mini after the first run of snes minis come out. We should all be able to get an official product for a reasonable price once they actually come out. I mean generally I'm a cynical person but I'm going the other way on this one. I'm hopeful that they'll be enough for everyone and whoever really wants one can get one for MSRP.

Agreed. Their problem was the time involved -- and now all of these pirated knock-offs are out and selling for half of MSRP with hundreds of games included.

And they are all over Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, and so on.

I think a lot of people won't wait -- they'll go for these for $30 with all the games and most of those buyers likely won't even realize that they are pirated. frown

They sold over 500 of them, I didn't exactly look for the cheapest one so their could be one for less,. One person had it labeled as a anniversary edition which is why I questioned what these were if there was some official thing released earlier

The reviews are pretty bad (or should I say mixed). They work about as well as those multi-cart pirates. Probably decent for a cheap price unless you're particular about your emulation. There will be extra bugs, glitches and freeze ups. If the controller is like one of the cheap ones I got from Amazon, it is garbage.

Even the "legit-like" fake Replicas suck, so I can't imagine how bad these guys are.

What are the games though? Are they legit Nintendo games or ghetto games?

Most of them literally are just a piece of hardware running the 500-in-1 cartridge image. They're legit games but most of them are just bad dumps or re-colors of the same list of 100 or so games.

The faker NES Classics run the same 30 games on the real deal. Just ...extremely poorly

I wonder what device these people are using to create such a crapty experience. I mean, a $25 Pi can emulate NES and SNES perfectly...why aren't they just using those to make a $50 system? Why make it out of something that can't do it properly???

Because it's easier/cheaper to spend $2 and sell for $30.

For the faker-"replica" system I've got I still need to dig up a screwdriver that can reach into the screw well, but I'll let you know. It's something cheap enough to run what appears to be kodi. I don't think it's literally a Pi because honestly a Pi would emulate much better than this thing does.

I'll tear one down and take some pics.
