So, inspired by Lunar's amazing Retro Trade thread in the Vintage Games forum, I thought maybe we can get something going for trading puzzles here in the General forum, because I know you guys and gals like to do puzzles as much as you like to play games.

Right now, I've got three up for trade (in ascending order of difficulty):

For Trade/Available List

jsoncip38's Available Puzzles:
London 300
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

New Perspectives 550
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Sweet Shoppe 1000

bill's Available Puzzle
Mona Lisa 1000 Piece Puzzle:
https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00H4W88OW...

I'm hoping to trade by pieces (i.e. 1000 piece for another 1000 piece), but an open for discussions.

If you have puzzles you want to trade, but aren't interested in mine, post below, and I'll see if I can make a habit of updating the OP.

that new perspectives one is pretty cool, I recently got back into puzzles after a very long hiatus.

I'm thinking of getting back into puzzles myself.

If I remember correctly, @bill does puzzles but I'm not sure what type.

Yeah - they're great. If you have any that you've done, that you want to trade, post them up

I am into jigsaw puzzles. I'm picky about them, though. So, trading doesn't seem that likely. I do have one that I'd be willing to trade, though:

Mona Lisa 1000 Piece Puzzle -- I basically found this one too hard. The background and darker parts gave little to work with. http://i.imgur.com/FOnAJWY.jpg as far as I got with it before I gave up.

I'm mostly interested in 1000 piece puzzles that have a picture I like and a decent amount of differentiation in the image so that they are doable visually. These tend to take me about 2 weeks which is good for me.

Greg Hildebrandt - Smaug Dragon is one of my favorites. I plan to do it again in a few years.

p.s. Here's the one I'm working on at the moment: http://i.imgur.com/5RSTx2w.jpg Diego Rivera: Detroit Industry 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle - it's somewhat challenging, but the pieces have a lot of details to work with.

That industry puzzle looks like a blast. I just spent the week working on the one:

Pomegranate makes some great puzzles. I am also really into Springbok, especially some of the 70s ones that feature modern art.

I did some puzzles about a year ago and it helped so much with stress. My husband got me a 3D Game of Thrones one but I only got part way on it. I think it's 1000 or 2000 pieces. Now it's packed until we move (whenever that'll be.) I really want to finish it!

I remember liking a bunch of Ravensburger puzzles. They were nice thick pieces of good quality.

opening a brand new puzzle is awesome, you get to inhale all the cardboard dust and hope you dont die of lung cancer before you finish it. so much fun.

Ha. I have this process I go through with a new puzzle where I keep moving all the pieces from one pile to a new one, then wiping the table under the old pile until the amount of dust output goes down a lot. It can take 7 or more piles before I stop. I hate that dust.

I open my boxes with a butter knife and in the process of sorting all the edge pieces out from the inside pieces I usually wind up wiping away dust off the table or dumping the box out at the end depending on how my piles are winding up.

Glad to see we have some other puzzlers in the house here at GameTZ .... but apparently it is a bit more challenging to trade them than it is games, which I find to be a little surprising, but it's cool.

Question for the group - do any of you have pets? If so, what have you found is the best way to protect your puzzles while you are working on them? Do any of you use those roll up things, or any other kind of puzzle boards?

You guys should buy a hunk of mesh screen, put it over a vacuum hose, use it to vacuum up that new puzzle dust. Mesh stops the pieces from getting sucked up. yes

I have a bad kitty, but she only knocks a few pieces off every other day or so. I just pick them up and place them back on the table. She generally only jumps on the table when I'm there because she wants attention.

No pets but small children, I use a big cardboard from something i ordered. after i am done for the day i pick it up and put it in an unreachable place or a locked room. It would be impossible to leave it out in the open until complete. Also because 1 day i might do half the puzzle and the other half might take me 3 weeks :p depends on times.

My daughter always wants to put together the puzzles we find in state park lodges when we go camping. They are so unsatisfying as they are always missing at least 1 piece.

I put together this one, 1000 pieces... got down to the last 10-20 pieces which were super hard because it was all of the ocean. Found out I had missing pieces. frown

I hit the jackpot today at Goodwill. I bought 11 Jan Van Haasteren jigsaw puzzles for $15. Not sure if complete but they were donated together and the previous person rubberbanded the boxes and taped their edges shut. All blue box "Jumbo" brand ranging 1,000 to 5,000 pieces. link

My wife and I did the 2000 piece version of Cinque Terre . I've sworn off 2000s. Our table isn't big enough for them and they take a long time.

I love puzzles, haven't done a 1,000 piece in a while. I've done a couple 300's recently just for fun.

I'd love a Where's Waldo puzzle, gonna have to seek one of those out.

Updated the top to include Bill's puzzle that he would trade....

So after a week of this post, my big take away is that people here like puzzles, but trading them is tricky, because folks are particular about them.

Like everything, I feel like I want to do it all Pro like. I want a puzzle platform that rotates, or has piece trays. Most are way too small though.

Lucky. My cat murders puzzles. It's hopeless trying to do anything more than 300 pieces or so.
