This Eminem stuff is all good, nobody bats an eye:

"Cause if I ever stuck it to any singer in showbiz
It'd be Jennifer Lopez and Puffy, you know this
I'm sorry Puff, but I don't give a f---
If this chick was my own mother
I'd still f--- her with no rubber and cum inside her
And have a son and a new brother at the same time
And just say that it ain't mine, what's my name?"

But saying the word 'retarded' - BANISH HIIIIIIIIIIM

Seriously. If we're going to dissect Eminem lyrics I think the word retarded would be pretty far down the line.

This is pretty tame actually, impregnating his own mother (if she were Jennifer Lopez) is probably on the light side of his work, that's "jokes"

Don't look up the lyrics for "Kim."

Let's not forget why the whole "retarded" thing became a political issue to begin with. Certain SJW PC snowflakes were triggered.

I love using the "vocabulary."

More fun to use the lexicon for sure, although I never got into the whole snowflake thing

Not a fan of the word myself, I work in human services and it's just wrong. I know is it was used to describe people with mental disabilities years ago but it's just wrong to use it now. I am know snowflake, I do enjoy Eminem and in no way am I outraged by his lyrics but the word does need to stop being used.

Why can't we just steel ourselves instead? He also uses the word ice cream man a lot. If it's being used jokingly, or just for shock value, what's the big deal? If you say this situation is gay, or retarded, or if you say man this fee that I got hit with on my credit card sucks big black dick twice is there really a problem with that?

My sister works with disabled kids, and I can appreciate their plight, but we have to stop identifying a word with context and meaning. If I go up to a mentally challenged kid and call him retarded that's pretty messed up, but if one of my friends goes all in with a 7-2 offsuit before the flop I am going to call him retarded as fudge, and that has nothing to do with any kids or anything like that, because that's a straight up retarded thing to do.

This over sensitive society, walking on eggshells, where one thing means something else, man it's just so annoying. We need to learn how to differentiate as a society.

It can be confusing at times. The sexual assault issue is a good example of how our fine line between comedy, art and real life has been blurred.

I always feel guilty too when I use it and we should stop.using it but, when my mom yells at my kids for doing insane stuff and says "Mark are my grandchildren some kind of retards!?" I get a heart warming feeling of nostalgia. Is this Stockholm syndrome?

Why can't people just be more creative or intelligent with there words? Why does everything have to be about shock value? Its getting pretty tired. It just seems that people who are not funny try very hard to be funny by using shock value as a way to over compensate.

I have not used either turn in some time, there are plenty of other words one can use. I simply may see this differently then you and that's fine, I simply don't like the word and I can't remember the last time I used it.

Different people have different ways of speaking. Eminem used shock value to make a lot of money, and I think his raps are genius thru the first 3 albums, I don't really like the ones after. But shock value is sometimes funny, sometimes not, it's about timing mostly. Not "everything" needs to be about shock value, but I just don't like limiting what people say or inferring their meaning when we know that it has nothing to do with disabled kids.

That's fair, nothing wrong with that.

Most dictionaries provide a definition of "retard" with the label "offensive slang" to differentiate it from the non-offensive. Just like with words such as dog.

Just because you'd call one woman a dog- I know I would- doesn't mean that they all are.

I've tried to cut the word retard out of my vocabulary. My good friend has a daughter with down syndrome, and we moved about a year ago and our next door neighbor has a son with it. I figure I'll eventually let something slip and offend someone so I try not to say it. It's hard though because growing up you call everything retarded and call your buddies retards when they do certain things.

I can see a difference with that word. My dog example is a bad case because there is a medical definition for mental retardation. Not all women are doges but all mentally retarded people are mentally retarded.

Some people give words too much power. You gotta shake off language you don't like. I shook off "grab them by the pussy", I shake off "retarded" even though I'm pretty sure I'm legally retarded, you just gotta get over words man.

I never really used retarded as a slur. My flawed word is ice cream man. I grew up using it way too much, and it's a hard habit to break. I'm sorry, but it's such a good word to use to release anger. It just sounds so harsh. I used to use it as an insult to people, but that doesn't happen anymore. Now it's just become a general exclamation of irritation, akin to Homer Simpson's D'oh!

I stub my toe, I call the table a ice cream man. A careless NPC runs me over in GTA V, I destroy that ice cream man. Basically any non-human non-homosexual that irritates me runs the risk of being called a ice cream man. My gay friends (excluding one) mostly understand. They give me crap, but they know where my heart is.

I know it's wrong, and I'm working on it, but sometimes it really feels nice to lay into my ice cream man car that keeps breaking down.

Mikey only black people can say the F word thats our... Wait a minute... I can't remember.

seriously though it was hard for me and I'm gay. The point is we keep trying to correct bad behavior. Its all good.

I've always laughed at the bedroom scene in Boondock Saints for this very reason. That dynamic is accurate .
