Summary

Any fan of the previous Max Payne will feel right at home with the sequel.

Description

"Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne" is the sequel to the original PC, PS2, and Xbox game "Max Payne". This is a third person action game where you are once again the main man Max Payne who is accused again of yet another murder. He is out to discover the truth once more and is reunited with allies from the previous game. Full of twists and turns, this is also a great game for fans of the movie "Sin City" due to the film-noir storytelling.

The graphics in MP2 are very nice and detailed. There are times when you are running around city streets or flaming apartment buildings and everything looks nice and gritty. Anything that is not nailed down is able to be knocked over, shot, broken open, or broken up.

The gameplay is fast and frantic. Veterans of the first "Max Payne" should feel right at home. Bullet time is still used to go all "Matrix" on the bad guys in style. The use of the Havok physics engine makes this a much more enjoyable game. For example, you could shoot someone at the top of a stairwell, and he could tumble backwards down the stairs, rolling and sliding all the way to the bottom. You can even try to make some really neat trick shots with things like explosives to take out big waves of guards.

The weapons that you can acquire in the game are vast, so you won't be bored with the weapon selection. There are things like dual Berettas, Desert Eagles, riot shotguns, Kalishnakov rifles, Druganov sniper rifles, and so much more.

The sound and voice acting are very well done here. Since everything is film-noir, there is a lot of serious acting and voice-overs coming from all the main characters throughout. You can tell a lot of effort was put into this and wasn't half @$$ed.

If you were a fan of the previous installment at all, you should go out and buy this game at all costs. Trust me; you won't regret it.
