There are 31 subscribers that use the email forwarding feature.
What I've thought about doing is removing the feature, but then letting anyone using it have the option of my hard-coding the forwarding (into gametz's email server). So, they'd still have it, if desired. But, the buggy bits would be taken out of the equation. Also, they could still ask me to remove it later, if desired. But, I'm not sure that's worth the effort.
I'm not sure how it got unset for you. I don't think I log when settings like that change, so it would be hard to figure out when or how it happened. I could imagine some glitch/bug in the settings form could have caused it.
I changed the url in my signature to the latest Secret Santa thread. Thats when I assume it got disabled.
I would disable it, I dont think its needed, and the small amount of users who do use it probably wont miss it. Just notify them of the change and enable that their email is hidden from the bio so they dont feel like their privacy is being violated.
I originally kept it as in the past a lot of trade negotiations would of happened via email -- now we have PMs, trade offers and dont really need email forwarding.
What John and SirConnery said. I used to have it on back when e-mail addresses were visible on the profile page. Looks like either I turned it off, or it got turned off by an update at some point, because it is off now, and with e-mails not being visible, it's mostly irrelevant.
