24 years ago it was Oct 1997. The big game releases were Crash Bandicoot 2, Tomb Raider 2, and MK4. 1997 saw the release of Golden Eye and Symphony of the Night.

RPG fanatics were on their 4th or 5th play through of Final Fantasy 7

It's worth mentioning (again, but it has been a while) that the account create dates from back in those days are not accurate. The early site didn't keep track of much. Some time later, I added it and just used whatever record I could that was oldest. In most cases, it's the user's first trade. Mine is the first trade ever. I think Gren was on UGTZ before me.

My memory is hazy, but I think trades came first. Some time later, I added account creation dates. At the time, for existing accounts, I used the oldest date I could find on their account and that was usually their first trade.

Indeed it has but now working from home I have time again. Ive been addicted to playing skyrim on vr. I usually only play my ps4 and I only mostly play indie games now. I dont think ive liked a big developer game in a while. Didnt like Greedfall , Ancestors, or Cyberpunk. Waiting for that new darksouls side story that comes out in Dec. Im playing a game called monster sanctuary as well and im really happy with it. Like a sidescolling, rpg, pokemon game in one. Have you played anything good lately?

4 months shy of 24 years here. I remember when the chat was alive and well. You could find 30-40 people in there at one time. Ahhh UGTZ days. My first trade was with John on April 8th, 1998

I like the vr games but i know its not for everyone. I have a few friends that get sick while playing it. The first time i played it was a game called superhot. I ended up knocking stuff off my mantle while swinging my hands at the enemies in that game. I started ghost of Tsushima and want to go back to it but I let someone borrow it. Ps3 is a great systems. You can put in a terrabyte hard drive and uploaded all your movies to it.

@John Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'm not sure what happened, but I added you back in. @Grenadier I'm looking right now, and it appears you are still on the server I created back in the Summer of 2020.

If there's another TZ server, someone should let me know. I'll happily join!

I've tried to make the server as "official" as I can, while keeping it unofficial. Since I am not affiliated with Bill, it has to stay unofficial. I would love to make it actually official, or a link somewhere on here for members who used to enjoy the MIRC chat, but I don't expect Bill to make any exceptions for my server. I know he has expressed disinterest in an official server in the past. But hey, if you change your mind Bill I'm all for it.

I'm sure there are many who avoid it/refuse to join, which is fine. After Scott shut his down, Blue's got knocked down, I figured I would give it a go, The last year and a half has been a lot of fun! I just hope more members are interested in joining and want to jump into the conversations.

Given the past trouble I had with bad behavior in chat, I'd prefer not to have any sort of official connection to it. Sorry.

I think there are also benefits to doing it unofficially too, though. And, I certainly appreciate people making an effort to set it up and keep stuff like that going.

There was one where some mods were one color and some another. For whatever reason. I was a mod on that one. But, no biggie. I didn't use it much.

blue had made that GTZ in trouble? topic and had gotten pretty upset about the whole thing. I have to take some blame as I was glib about it, not fully realizing he was so upset. But, I suspect he ragequit after that and deleted his GTZ discord too. *shrug*
