My goal is to try to find anything local since shipping prices are high.

Is there any way to search by location? Is it possible to add a column for location in this type of result?

A filter and sort by distance would work too and be really useful, but probably a lot of work.

You can search for users by location (state), eg https://gametz.com/?A=Users&bycountry=479&bystate=... It shows the city if provided by user. From there, you could check their available lists.

I think if you came at it from the item pages, you'd be much less likely to find stuff. We just don't have enough active users for local trading to be especially viable. Even at GTZ's peak, it wasn't to be honest. There may be apps that are better at this sort of thing.

GTZ is great for connecting with people who are up for shipping items. For local stuff, you might want to try Facebook Marketplace or OfferUp.

Maybe look into PirateShip.com for shipping. It's way cheaper than going to the post office. They even have UPS, which is cheap for shipping heavy things.

Depending on distance, UPS can sometimes even be a better deal for smaller 1 or 2 pound parcels.

I resisted pirateship like a fool for months, but once I started using it I haven't looked back
