I sometimes am unsure about an image I post, if it'll show up right. In a thread I can correct it or retry, but not always before someone responds in an active conversation...and then it's awkward.

And especially in a PM where I can't edit and get a 2nd chance if it's wrong.

Has anyone asked about a scratchpad/test forum for people to try out test posts that nobody gets alerted to? Something that won't show up in new post feeds? A place like that would be cool so we can edit and correct attempts to see what will happen before going to a real PM or topic where others will see.

It would be a great link to have beside the "Emoticons and mark-up Help" link above all textboxes.

Thanks,
Steve

I regurally forget the mark ups and screw up too. For your question in specific, I'd think use your own user forum.

I seem to screw up with images located at https links. Sometimes they just don't work and I need to find another photo.

I sometimes use a pm to myself for this, though it doesn't allow for edit (I just copy what I post before, then paste fix repeat). Your user page comment can also be used, though it's a little public and probably contains other stuff you don't want to change (just put it on the end and delete it when you're done... it is editable). I agree that using your personal forum for this (especially if it's not in use) would work well too.

Ah, I never thought about my forum. I'll try that next time, thanks!
