You can scan any bar code, even if it's on Google images. Borderlands has given us a new way to grind

What if you could get loot in Borderlands 2 just by scanning codes around you in real life? Introducing LootTheWorld, a free mobile app now available for iOS (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/loot-...1264?ls=1&m...) and Android devices in the United States!

Use LootTheWorld to scan bar codes and QR wherever you go to see what treasures await and manage your collection of virtual goods. Then, in conjunction with your SHiFT account, you can unlock those items in-game – provided you have the stamps to spend, that is… (By the way, if you came out to our Community Day in Dallas this past September, check your badge for a QR code that'll give you some extra stamps.)

LootTheWorld is now available as a free download for iOS from iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/loot-...1264?ls=1&m...) and Android via Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...are.borderl...) in the United States. Go out there and get looting – be sure to keep an eye on the Borderlands Facebook (www.facebook.com/borderlandsgame) for the chance to obtain more stamps in the future!

People are still playing Borderlands 2 over a year after launch? That's better than a lot of FPS games do...

Awesome looking Kickstarter game from well respected publisher
Level 99 Games. Check it out if you like tabletop games!

That's because Gearbox Software is incredible at supporting its titles months after launch (A:CM as the exception, for obvious reasons). They have Christmas DLC coming for Borderlands 2 as well.

I'm guessing it's like the "energy points" you see in other iOS apps.

Ah so its not actually in B2 but the actual "f2p" app? So that's how they get ya.

Anyone else getting an error message?

Well, they need to find a way to pay for the development of the app and it's obviously not something you have to buy. I think it's cool for what it is.

I believe you can get stamps from scanning codes, also by codes released by Gearbox themselves. They've already released some on twitter.

I haven't gotten any error messages. I've not gotten anything spectacular yet. I've also found out some codes can become exhausted...such as the UPC to Borderlands 2 for 360, lol. Weird.
