I am continuing this thread in to 2019

Post your list of systems and i'll add it to a table to keep track in the first post. Screenshots are not required, but they are welcome. Place screenshots in spoiler tags please. Try and complete a game you haven't completed before. Try and work out some simple trades to play something new. It doesn't matter when you started playing the game. It only matters that you complete it this year.

I finished in 2017. I only made 50% in 2018. Life comes at you fast sometimes lol. Remember the point is to have fun and dust off something you haven't played.

Uncharted 2 was miles better than the first one IMO. Really great game.

I think at this point I am using this to track what games I beat rather than system completion lol. I need to beat some other systems.

Thank you my good man. I've been around, but I have a tendency to revert to my lurker ways from time to time. Once I force myself to post, however, I'm typically able to get back in the game until my next inevitable quiet spell, haha.

@TalonJedi87 the opening of the game with the train was so amazing. The game as a whole felt like an action movie you were playing with the way they integrated all the amazing set pieces. I've started Uncharted 3 and I'm not liking it as much. It will be hard to top UC2.

@Antipop I have pretty much been playing nothing but PS4 and PC. I'm getting back into Mario Maker 2 though so my next clear will probably be the story mode. Not that I need a Switch clear lol

yes Sometimes when it's been a really long time I pm people here. I'm very talkative lol.

Uncharted 2 is like an Indiana Jones movie, UC3 is closer to Lawrence of Arabia. It's good but different. 2/4 are my faves but I have a buddy that likes 3 best.

I'm with ya, I would say U2 is my fave followed by U4, then it'd be U3 then U1, not including the spin off games.

U1 definitely had some issues, but I read that 2 was a big improvement and I liked 1 just enough to stick with the franchise. I'm glad that I did.

U1 was definitely rough around the edges, but it's still pretty playable to date, even more so on the pretty remastered collection on the PS4. I remember when I played the originals on the PS3 and they only hit 720i or 720p resolution. Eek.

Yeah the PS3 really wasn't a 1080p console.
Antipop
GameTZ Subscriber Triple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally Has Written 11 Reviews
3-Aug(#14)
Another console that wasn't fit for 1080p was the PlayStation 2. It was, however, home to a game that I'm currently playing: Maximo vs Army of Zin. In my opinion, the Maximo series is severely underrated and deserves to be recognized as a pretty worthy series of Sony's second mega console.

I'm also working on Ninja Gaiden Black, which is still really good. Should have both of those completed in relatively short order.

@Gypsy, I know you dug that deft segue, btw.

@Gypsy I actually had God Hand but kinda sorta gave it the hasty boot due to money issues and a sense that the game was going to require a lot of me to get into it. Definitely goes against my "play the game by it's rules" philosophy that I talked about on this very thread. I'm kind of embarrassed really, but the price to get back in is a little on the steep side.

As reported recently, I put the finishing touches on Maximo vs Army of Zin. My take: totally underrated 3D platformer that deserves more acclaim than it currently receives (there isn't even a halfway decent review of either Maximo game on YouTube; what the hell?). Either way, I felt as though it was a total B+ game, which is more than solid in my book. Onto Ninja Gaiden Black!

I just finished SteamWorld Dig on the Xbox One for Frank's Game of the Month thread, and boy, did I have a blast. What a tasty little nugget of a game.

Frank initially described this as "Metroidvania-lite" and I think that's the perfect way to describe it. A cool, huge environment to explore and lots of opportunities for character progression, but with only one way to go - down - and an extremely helpful map, I didn't get distracted or lost like I tend to with other games that focus on exploration. Mining is incredibly satisfying, the puzzle rooms were fun, and the wonky monster combat works, even if it feels a little fussy at times.

Vita remains the platform that just won't die, but I think I'm finally approaching the final dungeon, though I've thought that before. I'm also about to start Ico on the PlayStation 2 for the Retro Trade Thread.

Not doing myself any favors in the handheld department this month...Poking at a bunch of stuff, strongest contenders for next clears at the moment are Celeste on Switch, Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS and Super Mario 3D World on Wii U. Celeste will be last I'm sure, but it's taking most of my attention at the moment.

Starting to wonder if I'll ever get a PS3 clear... I may beat Ducktales on Wii U and count is as PS3, honestly, since that WAS the plan before the eBay seller cancelled my order (and Gypsy saved me)

Love 3D Land, way better and more focused than 3D World imo, feels more like SM64. 3D World is nice but it feels so zoomed out and macro in comparison. Got 100% up to the credits, working on 100% on the Special world before I hit up my next game. 3D Land doesn't really start until the last couple worlds and the Special zones imo.

I played that first so that might have shape my view of 3DW negatively but it just feels off when the camera is separate from the Mario. 3DL feels intimate.

3DW feels like an attempt to bridge NSMB with 3D Space, with varying degrees of success. 3DL just feels like Mario!

I gotcha and yes, the catsuit was a bit much.

Haha. No joke, I listened to Arnold Schwarzenegger talking about sleeping less to fulfill your dreams, and I sleep 2 less hours and feel better and have time for more. 6 hours of sleep feels great. 8 feels like crap.

I've been on the last fight of Mega Man X4 for about 3 weeks now. Haven't picked it up to finish.

I need to get back to 6 hours, I think that was my sweetest spot. Kinda annoying to have to force myself to stay awake though, lol

if im not gonna get down for 8 i usually just wait and get 6, im still tired at 6 but no less tired than at 7 so i can just use that extra hour. ive been doing with 5.5 or 6 for several days in a row now due to fire emblem and its catching up, im so tired. its like do i want to be tired or sore though, anymore than 6 hours laying down and my back and sides get to hurting, but gotta sleep sometime, and it does usually feel much better shortly after getting up

As we age we require less sleep too. I might be approaching the sweet spot at 38 and a half.

Tonight's the night I finish World of Final Fantasy.

Unless there's another epic fake-out, at which point I'll probably throw my Vita into another dimension.

I'm in the Postscript. I captured the seven Pleiades and resurrected the-Tama, and I'm pretty sure all I need to do is talk to Serafie to start the final battles.

I'm just extremely bitter about thinking I was finished with the game a few game-hours ago after a whole lot of epic lead-up, only to have the credits roll after that stupid non-ending that resolves nothing.
