People are going nuts with the stimulus money in general right now. A lot of video games will surge (and go back down somewhat like we saw previously), various mtg reserve list cards are selling like crazy etc

I've got a SteelSeries Merc Stealth keyboard up right now. I listed it for $100 with free shipping (fudgeer's huge and I need to pay for a large flat rate board game box.)

It's currently at $202.50 with five days to go. It's not even that mint! It's beat up! What the fudge!

I also have this weird Pokemon TCG movie promo set from Japan that I found just before the pandemic hit. It used to be $15 tops back then, now it's auctioning off for $75-80. So freakin' weird.

I'm thinking of listing my more valuable games right now but I've been getting crap for crossing over stuff often from US customs. (That's another reason why I haven't run any auctions lately. They might find it suspicious if I just bring tons of movies or games at once.)

Did I ever mention the sealed The Matrix promo shirts I sold on eBay years ago? One of my local merch sources had boxes full of them and they sold them to me at 2 for a buck. I flipped them on eBay for $25 each. They still had tons of them in storage in their warehouse up North, but then the big flea market burned down and they stopped bringing merchandise in. :(

Found Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna for $16!!! Local game shop must not have know what they had. Came with original case.

Also found some RC Grave Digger Monster Trucks at Walmart for $7 on clearance. Looked them up online and they go for $90+. Gave one to my daughter and sold the other.

That is awesome.

I think it's been the years and years of being on here and people telling me my promo crap isn't worth crap that when I started researching shirt collectors online I was like "hold up, wait. Wut?"

I had one guy on Instagram offer me a total of $350 for the 7 shirts I showed him and the more I keep thinking about it was kept thinking "this guy is lowballing. He's gonna sell these as soon as he gets them" so I told him I wanted to hold off (we didn't make any official agreement - I showed them to him to get his advice and he instantly made that offer). I'm glad I did a little more research.

I found a few more last night and I'm going back to my parents to check a hallway closet I didn't check this weekend.

Crazy stuff.

I have a Street Fighter (as in, the original game) t-shirt somewhere. It was in its baggie but I opened it to see the size, it's never been worn. I'm probably listing that when I find it.

I also had a pair of Bruce Lee shirts that were part of some camera promotion in Hong Kong? But those smell kinda funny so I don't know if I should list them...

I don't know how to upload pictures here, is it standard html. Anyways, posted that pic of a grab I got for $25 CAD. It was about an hour's drive from me, but decided to do it. The big treats were the Thief Dark Project Game in trapezoid box, heretic II in box and both baldur's games in boxes. The boxes are in a little worst condition than I had imagined so prob won't cap out at the top tier, but still a decent haul. Wanted $25 for all or $5 each. I would've taken those 4, making it $20. Wanted to make him happy, he prob just wanted to get rid of them. Another funny note, someone inquired about thief and heretic before me and he was keeping them but said I could have the rest for $15. It was a mission, so I said all or nothing, sorry. He said, he can't pick up today, if you can pick up today, they're yours. Been a while since I grabbed anything, and some of those pc ads, I replied to, and people didn't want to sell. Well don't reply to that many ads, only some are good deals. Found it in my main page for recommended for you and clicked and replied 12 hours later. Still got the deal.

@tarzanpat those trapezoid boxes are cool, @missile nice

I've seen a few crazy ads this past week but wasn't able to snag any of them. Someone was selling 20+ loose N64 carts (with manuals) for $15 each, and one of them was worms armageddon that sells for a ton somehow. Also saw someone selling pokemon platinum and explorers of sky for $25 each. Didn't get that one either.

They were a promo for the Panasonic Viera line of TVs, they used Bruce Lee in their ad campaign almost 11 years ago. How these ended up in my neck of the woods... I don't know. I kinda want to auction them off, but they're not minty clean. I dunno...

Yeah my heart skipped a beat when i saw it in the milk crate of ps1 games I was digging through. Unfortunately, the manual in this copy is water damaged, and at one time two of the pages were stuck together and then pulled apart as can happen with water damaged manuals, so its just generally pretty rough. I'm not a huge ps1 guy but I might end up just keeping Tomba and offloading the rest.

Sounds like this crap copy of King's Field I got recently and returned - manual is basically junk and pulling it out of the case caused even more damage.

It's not quite that bad, but its still worse than I wish it was. If yours is a 2/10 condition, i'd say my Tomba! is a 4/10

Lego Mario, at least the starter set, no box, no manual, haven't checked if all the pieces were there, definitely has extra bricks, Mario works and responds to the pipe. Under $5 at a thrift store. So I got a chance to check it all out. The starter set is missing 1 small piece. The extra bricks were a second Mario set which is missing maybe 25% of the pieces. I might look into buying the replacement pieces, or not as my kids will likely lose more anyways.

I have had some awesome Lego FB scores lately

image

This for $30 turned into 4 pieces shy of this.

$12 in brick linked parts later its complete with instructions.

Tough as hell build since it was mixed in with various unrelated pieces from another set that I was able to complete by buying her $20 2nd mixed lot.

Then a few days later all this for $60

AT-ST Raider set is my first taste of The Mandalorian extended universe. Not shown but a Deathstar Laser battle set was also included as well

Unfortunately Goodwills in my area have started marking Blu-Ray TV shows at $7... thankfully I had a 20% off coupon. The second season of V is sealed and worth $100, the X-Files set is another $50 so I think I'll do alright. Fantastic Four was $3.

These are all for personal viewing. I didn't care for the first season of True Detective, and the second season is supposed to be worse but oh well. Glad to find a Blu-Ray of The War of The Arrows to upgrade my DVD.

Definitely one of the bigger attractions is that eBay takes a final value fee on the tax the buyer pays, while Mercari separates it.

Mercari was better when it only cost 3% of the final sale. Now it seems Mercari and eBay are competing to see who can take a bigger bite from the sale. I don't sell much anymore on Mercari since they hiked up their fees.

They charge near 14% of the sale price broken up between final value fee and processing fees. I think it may also vary by category but All I really sell/sold on there are games. Not sure how well books would do.

Walked into Goodwill just as they were restocking the media:

Glad to see my 20% discount was still valid. Got everything for about $45.

Nice luck! I've never been that lucky with mine. Very seldomly do I find anything video game-related. I'm interested in Strikers if you're getting rid of that one smile

Porksta must have the best goodwills around. I never find anything game related at goodwills, and if I do it isn't worth buying.

But very nice Porksta.

I was at a game store by my gf's place yesterday while waiting for her to get off work and they had a couple copies of Spider-Man for the PS Vita for $40. I popped open ebay and saw that people are paying upwards of $70-75 for them cib. Not the greatest deal, but also not a bad profit if I were to turn around and sell it. I only grabbed 1 of the 2 copies they had. Rent is coming up after all lol

I have four or five Goodwills within 15 miles of my house, as well as a Wal-Mart sized store, and multiple independent thrift stores.

My weekends are very busy.

I haven't really had many good finds locally because the flea markets are having problems getting merchandise in due to a lot of dumb reasons. So I decided to use some of my early profits from people getting their stimulus to bid on a lot of magazine CDs that had a bunch of extra things that caught my eye.

This had the things I was most interested in: The Armed and Dangerous Preview Disc is in box, and it includes a full copy of the original Sam and Max. The Worm CD is apparently a preorder bonus for Worms World Party and it has some weird flash based stuff in it. The other discs are demo versions, except for Rune. Not pictured: A Rune soundtrack CD.

More demo discs. The interesting stuff: Making of Messiah, the two Gathering of Developers mailaway demo CDs, a Max Payne Preorder CD, a Take Two Baltimore Store Employee Purchase Program disc.

image
A couple more game related comics and stuff. These will be donated to scanning groups for preservation.

Carmageddon Reincarnation Kickstarter bonus things? Not sure what to do with these.

The rest of the CDs are behind this.

Total was 50 bucks shipped... plus local taxes. Bleh. Got a lot of research ahead of me.

Nothing to write home about, but found this for $5 locally. It's sealed, too.
