Welcome to The GameTZ Game Club! This is my attempt at forming an easy to get into book club type thing, but with games! Anybody and everybody is welcome to join in on the fun!

Rules are simple

- Each month a random game will be chosen, by myself, for the club to play. Games can vary from the beginning of gaming onward to current generation platforms. There's no limitations!

- You have from the 1st of every month to 11:59PM EST of the final day to complete the designated game. 100% completion isn't required. The point of the club is to provoke game discussion, as well as give GameTZ veterans and new users a place to mingle!]

- For every game completed, post a picture as proof of your completion Example

- You will be awarded with a badge each month you complete the game. All badges will be proudly displayed next to your name in the original post. As long as you "roll credits" the game is considered beaten!

- Every user to complete the game each month will be thrown into a drawing to win prizes! Users will be assigned a number and 3 numbers will be randomly generated in the beginning of the following month.

- Each month's prizes will vary. Prizes will be given out by either me or TradingFin. Sometimes physical, sometimes digital. If you would like to contribute, drop me a message. smile

- If you don't own the game, and you have access to it on another platform, you're welcome to play it that way. Just make sure that it's the same version, to qualify for the prize or badge.

- If you do not want to participate in the games, but would like to join in on the conversations, please do!

- If you would like to join, just post here, and I'll add you to the list of users. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or criticism, please don't hesitate to post them!

Frank said that it's playable on a modern system, so we need to filter down to a list of those. We can also skip FPS and Naughty Dog titles. That leaves us with a pretty short (and awesome) list.

Beyond: Two Souls
God of War III
Heavy Rain
Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Journey
LittleBigPlanet 3
Minecraft
Ratchet & Clank
Shadow of the Colossus

Okay, it's not Minecraft.

Let's cut that list in half. Frank, is the game part of a franchise?

I think you missed a few in your cut down list, but still a solid list. I've been meaning to replay Heavy Rain. Always up for replaying Heavenly Sword too grin

Really enjoying playing through the game. I died for the first time facing the boss after the pirate ship section -- the mirage guy is tough! Hoping to make it a good deal further this weekend.

I had a late start, but I'm finally digging into it. I just got the second star the other day, so maybe I'm on track to finishing it in time. Like so most other games I've ever played, I started it years ago and never came back to it for some reason. This club is a good excuse for me to get back to some of these games.

The fact that it has a physical release eliminates quite a few PS3 indies.

I didn't have anything to play it on, so I tried via a flash emulator online. It did not go well lol. Cool game, but the controls were pretty rough with a keyboard, and the whole thing crashed on me, so I lost progress and gave up. I'm up for the next one on a system I own though!

It has been a worthy investment for me. I am currently playing Super Mario RPG, but am also playing DKC and Secret of Mana with my daughter. I eventually want to replay Star Fox before dipping into Star Fox 2. I'm gonna get a lot of mileage out of this little fella.

If you play lots. I thought it would be a quick jaunt but there have been a few level check bosses that almost require grinding. If you're good enough to beat bosses under leveled-if it's even possible- it will be a short game. A few of them just cheese you to death.

I'll hopefully finish Super Mario RPG later today. Once I got the 5th star I had stopped playing for a few days but last night I finally went back to it and got the 6th star and laid the smack down on some phony Power Rangers. There seems to be little discussion of this month's game, everyone just wants to know what the next game is.

Yeah, I thought Mario RPG would have been a heavy hitter. Guess not.

I'll probably refrain from any other RPGs going forward. Seems people are either too intimidated or just don't have the time. Totally understandable though! This is only month 3, I'll perfect the game choices as time progresses.

We might want to adopt what RTT is doing and restrict the guessing game to the last week of the month. The downside is it gives people time to acquire the game in question.

20 Qs is good. Also like a more modern game, especially a shorter one. BL took me a while, but I was happy to revisit it.
I have a SNES classic and should have tried Mrpg but I just didn't - I got my SNES out and it's sitting right here by my PC - I'm not sure why I didn't get into it, likely b/c it was too long in my estimation.

I won't be playing next month's title as I don't own it, don't see it on Steam nor Windows store and I don't have a PS4.

Just checked my library, I must have missed it or during a time I wasn't subscribed to ps+. Kinda sucks it looks like a cool game. $15 on PlayStation store, doubt I can swing it with this months extra bills and haven't had much luck with anything selling. May have to pick it up later tho just to play it.
Wasn't there a sequel as well

Btw... If I well.. get my hands on the PC version.... Does anyone know if it has controller support? I can't do keyboard mouse thing, especially atm with a rotator cuff injury.. sigh

I obtained Journey for my Laptop, played through the first two areas... WOW is all I have to say. Very odd game, don't really know whats going on, but you do, if that makes any sense. I love the ambient sounds and the music, its relaxing, kinda makes me think I'm listening to an Enya song selection.
Had to cut it off, from what I know it's a really short game didn't want to run through it before July even hits lol

Can say the club def done its job for July, Journey is not a game I would have played otherwise.

Good! Glad the club is getting you to play games outside your comfort zone, as that's one of the goals of the club!

My playthrough of Journey for the Game Club was actually my first time ever playing it. I's one of those games I've been needing to play for years, and never felt the desire to actually follow through. I'm glad I finally did though! I'll probably play it again during the month to get a second take at it. Game is very unique to say the least.

I might try to rush through this game this weekend, is it easy to upload a photo from your phone?

Alright, on pace to finish tonight, or maybe tomorrow. Gotta say I'm loving having a hacked switch for portable gaming. It's the only reason I'll have been able to beat this one this month!

Yep, got around to beating it last night. The game was fun, but I was definitely getting a bit of battle fatigue by the end of it...

How'd you hack your switch to get this game on it if you don't mind me asking?

Just got the sixth star. The boss fight that precedes it is... something else.

The race to the finish is on.
