Lol, after reading it thru just now, it does sound amazing. Fudgein Fantastic if u ask me.
You cannot sit there and say that they could do a once in a lifetime Zelda Anniversary set and it would sell out instantly at $300.
Or, bc they are cheap asses, they could also simultaneously release the $300 box set along with a new amiibo for each game in the set. And have each amiibo unlock hardcore mode for each game. So u would have to buy all 10 amiibos to unlock the bonus mode as each amiibo would only work with the one game.
They could also release a Special Edition Switch system that would have 35 Zelda Anniversary collection decals on it along with a new switch pro controller with similar color scheme. Or better yet. They could have switch system Zelda Anniversary something or another and have it set up to where each switch will have a free digital Zelda game attached to the system, but the Zelda game will be different. Like u will randomly get one of the games from the collection as a bonus. Or also have it where a code would come with the Zelda Anniversary switch pro controller. And each code will redeem a random Zelda game.
Or even better yet, check this out. They could do Zelda switch sets for each system. If that makes sense. Like have the nes/snes Zelda's come on its own cart and sell it for retail like that. Have the N64 games on a separate cart, or the gb/gbc on their own cart, all with separate artwork for each set. But on the spine they could have all the sets line up to make one bigger picture, as it would be like 5 different switch cases combined to make a single set. And sell each for $60. Or $80 for a SE set that comes with the cart along with a keychain or a plushie toy, cards with Zelda characters...
I could keep going. I'm soo sorry for the long posts. I have had way too many java monsters today!

Most of the time when I hear of a direct, they have "leaks" of what's coming and I feel like I've seen most. Granted some are vague like 2d DK.

I'd take just about any one of those games though TBH

Just started it. I love the smoothness of the controls, as well as the L trigger aiming function.

The beginning stage area is pretty suspenseful/creepy. Just got out for the 10th or so time to one of those things.

I guess creepy is the wrong word. Anxiety provoking? Nah, that's not really it either. Hmmmm. I can't quite think of the correct word for this beginning part with those things. But whatever that word is.

Even at the very beginning there are areas I can't access because I don't yet have the necessary move/technique to get there. I know exactly what Samus needs to do to get to these areas, but there's nothing to do about it yet. They did this so early on evil

Zero Mission did point you towards your next objective, I got stuck once in this but I just looked at my mission log, and searched for what to do after the last upgrade I found.

A lot of Dread kinda rail roads you though, areas blocked off by hazards or upgrades you don't have.

I got that one the other day, it's probably the hardest shinespark puzzle in the game. I did it slightly different than the guy in the video though. After sliding through that first gap, I shot downward to break the blocks, fell past them, then activated the shinespark and went directly left, instead of coming at an angle from above the blocks like he did. Looks like you have to be pretty precise if you do it his way.

I have 2 more areas to finish exploring, then I can go face the final boss. I missed an item in two of the areas and I don't have it in me to explore those entire areas again, so I'll have to settle for slightly below 100%. I miss the scan pulse from Samus Returns, it made exploration less of a headache.

Just position yourself so that there's a long open space as he starts to approach you. That will give you plenty of time to melt away his face shield. After that, you'll probably need to move to another area to setup for blasting his head off. If you try to do it immediately after melting his face shield, he'll probably get you.

The hazards that just completely block certain paths are really annoying. It's fine earlier in the game as you're first making your way through areas and story events are occurring, But once you're completely down with an area, you should be able to get rid of the hazards somehow. The worst part is, they don't even show up on the map, so you'll look at your map, plan your course, then halfway through it you reach a roadblock and have to backtrack, then go ALL THE WAY around to get to where you were heading.

Isn't there a pulse thing you can use when you're in an area? Not exactly the same, but might be somewhat helpful.

Yeah, but it only shows you hidden blocks that are currently on your screen, so you have to navigate through every single section of every room while it's activated. With how big the map is, it's easy to miss areas. Also, the pulse only lasts for a few seconds, then you have to wait a couple seconds and re-activate it.

I laugh at people complaining about difficult/annoying games as they play them, then say it was a good game after beating it.

I can enjoy a game even if there are some aspects of it I don't care for, or think could be better. The good aspects of Dread more than make up for any problems I've had with it.

At least I didn't dislike it simply because it wasn't exactly the same as my favorite Metroid game.

That's kind of expected for me. Sometimes I think the complaints still hold true, even if they don't take away from the game as a whole. After all no game is perfect.

Plus while you're playing a game for the first time, the verdict is still out. It isn't until after you beat it the positivity becomes more cemented and the negativity gradually melts away. Eventually you become nostalgic toward the game and become one of those people who attack others who criticize it. The videogame circle of life. =P

Just beat the first episode of DBZ Kakarot. Not getting all the hate from DBZ fans. It's retelling the story marvelously, and I'm enjoying the back and forth between open world and fighting (action?). It mostly let's you figure out the rpg and other gameplay elements on your own which is a mixed blessing, but the internet helps there. The animation mixed in is top notch, and all the voices are there. It's nice they threw in all the DB references.

It's actually lighter? Cool. I wouldn't say the Switch is heavy, but it definitely has a solid weight to it. Lighter would be nice.

As I was playing, I thought it was noticeably lighter and easier to hold. They had regular Switches next to it, so I grabbed one of those, and it definitely felt lighter to me (edit: it's actually heavier...I guess I'm an idiot. The OLED is 22g heavier than the OG.

I've seen tons of videos and pictures online, but I don't think they do it justice compared to having it in front of my face. I would like to see the screen in different lighting situations. I don't like playing in handheld because I feel that the system gets heavy, and the busier HUDs are hard to see. I played some Mario Kart at the store, and I was amazed at how clear and big the picture was.

Although my gaming backlog isn't small, I'm making an exception for Arceus Legends.

It would be really awesome if they made the cartridge Arceus themed. Something like white and gold. Similar to how the old GB, GBC, and GBA carts were colored.

For me, the intrigue is more about the open world type element in the game, set in the Pokemon world. If it was just another remake I don't think I'd be very interested. Maybe would skip it altogether. But this seems like they're doing something different this time.

I like the smaller size of the lite. But at least with the OLED being about the same size as the original switch, you get so much more screen, and pure black OLED too. So I agree, love the OLED.

Played some more Wind Waker over the weekend and last night, I'm really loving it. I came to appreciate this art style while playing Phantom Houglass, but it looks so much better on a nice HD screen. I still prefer the more realistic graphics of OoT/MM/TP, but this is great too. The sailing can be a real slog, and changing the wind direction frequently can get old, but I'm enjoying everything else so much that I can overlook it. I do enjoy the sailing to a degree. It's cool going through different weather and looking around at all the islands in the distance. I just wish it were faster. I think I'm about halfway through the game.

I agree about the sailing, but when I played it Miiverse was still a thing and you could find bottles in the ocean with notes written by other players, so I'd collect some of those while sailing around and it made it feel just slightly less boring.

The outcry was largely due to this:

https://youtu.be/wBtAvX4Pkyk

In 2000 at SpaceWorld Nintendo dropped a video showcasing the GameCube's capabilities. The second one shown was this, and expectations went through the roof.

A year later they dropped the reveal for WW. Needless to say it was not well received by teens and adults alike. Reactions captured in this article:

https://www.newstatesman.com/science-tech/2017/12/...

Ocarina was only 2 years old at the Spaceworld reveal, and after a polarizing MM release many were expecting a new OoT adult Link-like experience. When Saturday morning cartoon (somewhat effeminate) Link was revealed it was a big WTF moment for many.

I was one of those who was greatly disappointed by the reveal, but shortly after playing WW I did turn around. I pre-ordered the game pretty much just to get the free bonus disc (OoT + Master Quest). lol

I remember just being more surprised by the art style they chose than anything. Once I saw the game in motion on my TV though I was convinced they made the right choice.

I guess Nintendo kind of repeated that again, didn't they? At the Wii U's first E3 reveal, the tech demo they showed of The Legend of Zelda in 2011 looked a lot cooler than how Breath of the Wild turned out in 2017.

I forgot all about that. A larger time gap and far less drastic change softened that blow. WW was a year later and stark change, like going from Twilight Princess to Wand of Gamelon... lol

Can the entirety of Mario Golf: Super Rush be played with just a Pro Controller? I ask because, while I could be mistaken since I haven't played it in nearly two years, I think there was a mode in Mario Tennis Aces that required the Joy-Cons to be swung like a tennis racquet, and I remember in one of the Mario Golf trailers someone swinging a Joy-Con like it was a golf club.

Should be able to outside of motion control mode which doesn't unlock anything AFAIK. I used the joycons as standard controllers to complete story mode and unlock everything so far, and the only thing I haven't unlocked can be done with standard controls.

I'm still hoping for a Zelda game that looks like this some day. Maybe on the Switch's successor...

Which version are you playing, GC or Wii U?

Awhile back I tried playing the GC one, but the inverted Y axis kept throwing me off. Gameplay was off. And no setting to uninvert it. Perhaps the Wii U version had a fix, idk.

Wii U, but I did try the GC version once a long time ago. I'm not sure how far I got, but it couldn't have been too far.

There's an option in the Wii U version to un-invert it. I usually hate inverted controls, but I didn't even realize this game had them. The controls just made sense I guess, and I adapted to them. I found the setting to un-invert them last night, and tried switching to it, but it felt weird so I switched back lol.

You uninverted it and then actually re-inverted it?

Here I am, wanting an option to uninvert the y axis, and you're actually playing it inverted, intentionally laughing out loud

I don't find it too often that games have the y axis inverted like it is in that game, but it's Nintendo, and Zelda, and Nintendo wouldn't make such an oversight. I guess during development they figured it works in that particular game for some reason. And you're saying it does for you.

Hmmmm, maybe I'll give it another try sometime.

lol yeah, by the time I found the setting, I was so used to the controls that un-inverted just felt weird. I'm sure I could have gotten used to it, but it didn't seem necessary since I was doing fine with inverted.

Maybe they should have went the Bloodstained route and tweaked it just enough so that they could have released it legitimately. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but either way this will never be officially released.

The new Kirby is looking really good. I just keep remembering how bored I've been every time I've tried to play a Kirby game. I can't decide if this one is worth trying or not. I'm probably going to wait for others to play it and get some feedback first.

2022 is already shaping up to be a strong year for Nintendo.

Jan - Pokemon Legends Areceus
Mar - Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Mar - Triangle Strategy
??? - Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp
??? - Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
??? - Bayonetta 3
??? - Splatoon 3
??? - Breath of the Wild 2

That's already a great lineup. If any of the rumored games pan out, this could just get insane.

Are you really sure Bayonetta 3 comes out this year?

I have no clue. I just know the last trailer for it said it was releasing in 2022, so I'm going with that unless we hear otherwise.

new kirby looks great. Never played much kirby except a little on DS. But I'm going to play the old ones on gameboy and NES pretty soon before this one comes out. I'm just in love with this gameboy shader which makes the emulated games look like an old Gameboy screen.

Kirby games have usually bored me too. I did manage to get through one finally last year with dreamland 2. But yeah, kirby games don't get me hyped whatsoever.

I've played a decent way through the Kirby game on SNES Online... I thought it was pretty fun. I'll definitely be snagging this new one eventually.

I've finished a few of them. Mass Attack was my favorite, and that one played a bit different from most of them. I'm interested in the new one but no interest in Star Allies, that first Kirby game on Switch.
