Same here. I was so excited when I saw that pop up since I couldn't afford it when it went up for pre-order originally. I didn't think any Special or Master editions would come around again. Dreams crushed again :(

Damn. This has been a wild pre-order season for Nintendo. At this point it'll seem kind of like an accomplishment all on its own just to get a Switch with a game to play on launch.

Can't wait though. Let's hope we all get faultless joycons.

So true. I will be shocked if I'm actually playing BotW on my Switch, with a pro controller, on release day.

I check my amazon order every other day just to make sure its still there. I guess amazon had to cancel 1200 Zelda master edition preorders because they took too many.

Man, I really hope my Switch pre-order doesn't get canceled. I pre-ordered mine within minutes (maybe hours) of them going live, so I hope I'm safe. Best Buy better not fudge me, bastards.

I actually pre-ordered a second one for someone here who never got back to me that I think was stealth canceled because it basically just disappeared off my orders.

Looks like Edge broke the Zelda review embargo and they gave it a 10/10 joining the following list of games as the only others they've ever given a 10/10:

Super Mario 64
Gran Turismo
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Halo: Combat Evolved
Half-Life 2
Halo 3
The Orange Box
Super Mario Galaxy
Grand Theft Auto IV
LittleBigPlanet
Bayonetta
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Rock Band 3
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Last of Us
Grand Theft Auto V
Bayonetta 2
Bloodborne

In closing they had this to say:

The result, for all the longevity of its series and the familiarity of the open world genre, is a game that evokes feelings we haven't felt for 20 years. Not since Ocarina of Time have we set foot in a world that feels so mind-bogglingly vast and unerringly magical, that proves so relentlessly intriguing. Plenty of games promise to let us go anywhere and do anything. Few, if any, ever deliver so irresistibly. 19 years on Ocarina is still held up as the high water mark of gamings best loved and greatest series. Now it may have to settle for second place".

Little Big Planet and Rockband 3 are definitely the strangest ones on that list followed closely by both Bayonetta titles. The rest of the list is pretty solid if you consider their impact to gaming at the time of their release.

I would be surprised if the following list of games weren't on the majority of game publication's most influential games of all time.

Super Mario 64
Gran Turismo
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Halo: Combat Evolved
Half-Life 2
Halo 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Last of Us
Grand Theft Auto V

I took another trip to GameStop and sold a bunch of worthless PS3 games that I couldn't unload. I got another $100, so now I have my entire Switch, Zelda Limited Edition, Super Bomberman R, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a pro controller, and a 128gb micro SD (thanks to Jurassic) completely paid off (I have not paid 1 cent out of pocket) AND $8 towards Splatoon 2.

I'm not sure how that would work. The amount of money left in the eShop account would keep changing depending on what region your system is set to. On the plus side that should be good for Canadian users, they could get games cheaper on the US eShop?

Can someone explain the GameStop trade in credit thing?

I've got some games, and I am wondering how this works if I just want to trade towards games like Zelda or Splatoon, but not the system?

Is there extra trade in credit or what? Using ratchet and clank PS4 as an example. It has $12 trade in, how does this work if I want to trade towards Splatoon 2 let's say...?

"Miyamoto thought there was "no appeal" to Splatoon at first"

It's hard to say anything negative about Miyamoto. I mean, he's amazing. His accomplishments speak for themselves. He has such a history of trying new things and coming up with new and exciting ways to enjoy video games. He doesn't just sit back and retread old ground. He's always pushing the envelope. Just read the history of the GameCube development and it's controller to get a sense of what a perfectionist this guy is.

With all that said, he seems to be really out of touch lately. He didn't understand the appeal of a game like Splatoon, which is one of the freshest new ideas out of Nintendo. Splatoon is the classic Nintendo we all love brought into current day. He keeps on with games like Star Fox Zero and that mech game that got cancelled. Maybe it's time for him to step down.

As long as you have an active PUR account and it goes towards any pre-order, you're good. They ring it up normal and then at the end they add on 60%. So if R&C is $12, you should get $19.20 for it.

It's $15 a year for PUR. The Switch bonus ends after tomorrow. It's a 50% bonus plus 10% if your a PUR member. The 50% is taken from the regular trade-in value and not the PRU value. Just preorder any Switch game or accessory and it'll give you the bonus.

In all fairness I didn't appreciate Splatoon til I actually played it. It sounded generic to me and it's visual styles didn't appeal to me until I got the game for my kids and gave it a spin. Pleasant surprise and I was wrong. It's awesome. I don't blame him for his initial doubt.

Today would probably be the best day to go too before anything else changes. A lot of trade values went up today, I guess in anticipation of this ending tomorrow. The base trade for a couple of the games is more than I got after the 50% bump a couple days ago. Not too happy with that..

Same here. I wasn't really that interested after seeing the trailers and had no plans to get it until I saw everyone here raving about it. That's what won me over and got me to try it out. Glad I did, because my family had a ton of fun with it. Can't wait for Splatoon 2!

This. They didn't even have the paint fast travel aspect or (apparently) even jumping at the time. A graffiti FPS had little appeal.

Not seeing the appeal is different from seeing promise in a game that hasn't reached it's full potential yet. I love Miyamoto, but I'm getting the impression that his own company is passing him by while he continues to reminisce about the olden days.

All you guys on the fence, give Splatoon a chance and I promise you'll have a blast.

I just got back from GameStop after trading in Smash Bros. and Yoshi's Woolly World. Got over $71 with the promotion. Whenever they inevitably release Smash Bros. on the Switch, it's a day one buy for me, so getting $45 for the Wii U version was pretty sweet, especially with how much mileage I got out of it.

It launched with only like 4-5 maps, but they consistently offered free updates with new maps and weapons for over a year. There are now 16 maps. It was a cool strategy because it kept feeling fresh and new every time they released new maps. It gave a reason to go back even after I had moved on.

Jaww haven't had a chance to read the Andre book you gave me. I just finished Daniel Bryan's bio and will read through the Andre one now.

I'm trying to get through Dead Rising 4 so I can focus on Zelda next week. The one thing I'm really looking forward to is the portability. I hated that I couldn't play my Wii U in bed unless I moved it from the living room into my bedroom.

I need to add that I haven't played through a Zelda game in a long time. I enjoyed WW but only got a couple hours into it. The fact that this game is so massive with free roam really appeals to me. I fully intend to play through it start to finish!

Make sure you guys use protection with your switch. Human/videogame console babies likely will result in some pretty intense racism.

The one thing I am pretty impressed about in that video with Dashie and whoever that other guy with a million subs is smile and also Digital Foundry unboxings is how damn BRIGHT those joycon neon colors look like. They look nice in the official Nintendo pics, but they look even more blazingly vibrant actually looking at them.

I love the way they look when they are attached to the Switch tablet, which is how I'm going to be playing 100% of the time. Glad I made the right call on that one, man it looks really sharp.

A 4-player squad would be great! Hopefully we can do in-game chat easily this time around.

I know that this would be asking too much of Nintendo at the moment, but it would be really sweet if how that Goldeneye game that MS made years ago and was cancelled (because the 360 version was reportedly better than the Wii version and Nintendo didn't like that so they cancelled the whole project even though it was finished) would come to the Xbox One/Switch. Seeing as how the Switch has that system link ability it would make such an awesome game to add to their library this holiday season. If MS and Nintendo did a joint announcement at e3 I could see that as being a major mic-drop moment.

I thought it did come out? Was there another one in development besides the Wii/360 remake?

Traded in RE7 and a controller at GameStop and paid off Zelda, preordered Bomberman and a travel case.

Yeah, like a 100% legit remake of the N64 game, not that one with Daniel Crag.

It would be incredible if they made a remastered version of Goldeneye 007 from the N64. Same characters, maps, weapons, etc. with new dual-stick control scheme.

I was honestly surprised how well Perfect Dark had aged when they did the Xbox 360 remaster.

I bet if they did the Goldeneye remaster, there would be VERY few Switch owners who would not buy it.

360 was a remaster? I mean were the levels similar? I just thought it was completely new? I ask bc I still have the 360 version sealed and if it's the same I'll skip the N64 version. I know the graphics are a ton better just never knew it was a remaster.

They did a full blown sequel called Perfect Dark Zero but they also did a $20 digital release called Perfect Dark HD that was a remaster of the N64 game. They're both included with Rare Replay for XB1 and worth the cost alone IMO.

Ah ok, I was referring to PDZ. Since I don't do digital I guess PD64 is still on my list, tanks for clearing dat up.

Do you have XB1? Rare replay had a physical release.
