I'm in the same boat, but I'm honestly relieved. My backlog is unbelievably big and I have a ton of recent games I have yet to start. Metroid, Persona 5, Nier Automata are the first three that come to mind.
I've slowed down with Odyssey...love that it's a game you can jump back into at anytime without worrying about catching up on story, etc.

Yeah, I'm kind of relieved too since there are some older games I've been wanting to play. I just wish there was something on the horizon for me to look forward to.

14-Nov(#12)LA Noire is the next Switch game I'm looking forward to getting. It came out today I believe, but it'll make something easy to put on my Christmas list for the lady so I'll wait it out haha. That and Wolfenstein 2.
But Rocket League will definitely take up lots of my time until then. Also relieved that the marathon of good games is winding down. I still have Fractured but Whole, DOOM, NBA & will soon have Battlefront 2, plus FFXV if I ever want to continue that pile. After all that & LA Noire/Wolfenstein 2, I'll finally feel content with my backlog.
Honestly not used to having a "backlog" of video games unless they're Steam games I have no immediate desire to play. Switch is bringing the gamer back out in me. Wii U titles were always few and far between, as were the types of games I'd bother buying new for XB1, so I'd never get backed up. Not having as much access to my XB1 and this flood of good Switch games has really stacked my "to-play" pile up.

14-Nov(#14)I've got Odyssey coming tomorrow so I'm hyped. Was also going to get Mario + Rabbids but I'm banking on it being around $30 on black Friday. Figured there would be a better chance of it being on sale than Odyssey.

14-Nov(#17)Just bought Rocket League but not sure when I will play it as I am deep into Doom right now. My son will probably be the first to try out Rocket League.

Nintendo did do one of those lovely "Like this tweet if you want Smash on Switch!" things, as well as adding GCN USB adapter controller support, so at the very least there's likely to be Smash, possibly more incoming. Gamecube VC announce would be stellar. They're obviously working on Metroid and Pokemon games for the Switch. Any of that would make 2018 decent for Switch, but at this point it's up to third parties to actually get to work on this thing.

I've seen a couple of articles that said Nintendo had apparently registered a new trademark for Smash Bros., as well as Zelda, Animal Crossing and Splatoon. It's not official, but came from a source that had correctly leaked info before. And Grezzo is working on something with Legend in the title. Considering their history with the Zelda series, it's probably a remake of an older game. (Skyward Sword, perhaps...or maybe a new TriForce Heroes)
whitefire

14-Nov(#24)Considering how (comparatively) few people had a Wii U, and how Majora's Mask/OOT have already been on 3DS, I think Nintendo should just put out a collection, or at least give us all of them on Switch.
The Switch needs lots of games ported over because of the duality of the console. However, if I had my choice, I'd still go for a VC (or whatever they end up calling it) over remakes. Either way, give me Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine, both Super Mario Galaxies, and Skyward Sword, along with all of the N64 and GC favorited that have already had remakes.

14-Nov(#25)I would love to see a Animal Crossing on Switch..

I've not played any of the Xenoblade games. They look good, but from what I hear they take a ton of time. I usually avoid games like that, BotW was just a rare exception for me.
> There's a ton of great eShop content to get into as well.
Yeah, I still have a ton of eShop games on the 3DS and Wii U I'd like to try, plus a couple on the Switch. I'll definitely be working on those during this coming downtime. Although, I've been unimpressed by most of the eShop games I've tried so far. I hope that changes.
> I think Nintendo was trying to focus on 2017 with announcements,

I'm sure they do too, I'm just nervous until I actually see it! It will be hard to match a year with amazing Zelda AND Mario games. As long as they announce a couple more big name titles, I'll be feeling pretty good.

I've been wanting to give Smash another chance. I like the game, it just never draws me in enough to really grind it and get good at it. Now would be a good time, before they drop another one and I'm even further behind.
> They're obviously working on Metroid and Pokemon games for the Switch.
I can see Pokemon coming out in 2018 but not Metroid Prime 4. That will probably be 2019.

I'm itching for a new 2D Zelda game like ALBW. I have no interest in a Skyward Sword remake, but I could get on board with a new Tri-Force Heroes! I loved that game, the network issues just killed it in the end for us.

* 14-Nov(#30)Rocket League is honestly one of, if not THE, most exciting competitive game I've ever played. The Mario Kart series is probably neck and neck, but otherwise nothing. Even shooters or NBA - nothing compares to how intense a real good Rocket League match can get.

I agree to an extent but for my money spatoon would edge both.

I just downloaded tonight and going to try it out tomorrow on the switch

Rocket League is one I couldn't wait for a physical release for. It's too fun and I've only ever owned it digitally, so no worries there.
I think it's great that it's cross-console too. Playing online, you could be playing anyone on PC or PS4. That's pretty neat, and a feature I want to support for sure.
@Scott how much did you play? Which difficulty? Any online? RL is mega boring on the rookie setting of single player. Gotta do Pro or up for an actual challenge. And then online multiplayer feels like a legit sporting event if you let yourself get caught up in it/pay attention to your stats haha

Right right, actually think I read that. All the more reason to support that feature gosh darnit!
@Scott give it a shot on your own terms, when you can decide how to play/which mode or difficulty you want. I think you'd dig it.
Plus I want to destroy (or team with?) some GTZers.

I have maybe played 10 matches and by the 3rd match I was scoring points so I would agree that it is easy to play, difficult to master. I recommend using X when you start the match to keep the camera on the ball. It makes life much easier. Also focus on your ground game before trying aerial moves. You can play a few matches vs bots.

16-Nov(#65)Scoring a goal or making a save in Rocket League are a couple of the most satisfying feelings I've ever felt from playing a video game. There's a real sense of "I just helped out my team" whenever it happens. Alternately, it's soul crushing when you get blocked or scored on.
Been trying out some new modes. I usually stick to 3v3 or Chaos (4v4, really not that chaotic) but I also dig Hoops, Ice hockey and that new one where you clear tiles of the floor to score. It's a lot harder but still fun.

I'm guessing that won't happen. All the DLC plus the game cost over $100, and I'm guessing the licensing would need redone.
They should just make a new Smash Bros Switch with more relevant characters. Of non-N IP, I'd like Mega Man, PacMan and Sonic (to beat up on) to return. It's be sweet to announce a new third party game coming over by showing a character.

This pretty much sums up the game for me so far. I giggled like a schoolgirl when I finally scored a goal online (in my second match, so didn't really take long. I scored my team's only other goal that game as well)... I'm loving this game. I can see why it has so many fans now. Playing soccer with cars is awkward at first, but it's a blast once you get the hang of it. I'm going to try the Hoops mode online now.

I don't remember what my stats were last year (I never checked them on Steam) but I know I'm definitely slacking with this go-round. Especially when it comes to assists. I don't focus on saves too much - I hardly ever play goalie, I tend to hit the ball in the wrong direction when it's that close to the goal haha
