Check out some more footage, man. It is sooo much more than they showed at E3.

I did, it doesn't look bad. It's just a game I don't mind picking up some day when it's $20.

I've done 15 of the 17 floors I can see on the map and expect to beat it this weekend. It's polished and well done but generally very same-y throughout and has very little replayability. Each floor is a new theme but the gameplay doesn't change. If I was playing this by myself I'm not so sure I would have stuck with it this long. But playing co-op with my 6-yr old it's been quite fun and he loves it. I think part of that is because player 2 (who has less health) can die and just immediately respawn. So although I'm doing most of the work he feels like he's contributing.
The controls, while acceptable, are consistently frustrating though. I don't know how to explain it other than 90% of the game is holding down the suck button and just moving the thumbsticks around hoping for the best.
SoCalAztec

15-Nov(#8)I am enjoying my time with LM3 but to echo above, the replay value is very low. Once I beat the game, I don't see a reason to go back and play it again (maybe this will change if a new mode is introduced once beating it, but doubt it).
Also, I agree about the controls being an issue. Not being able to change the invert look and overall feel, just seems a bit off. I am starting to get the hang of the controls but it still seems off.
The online mode does add a bit of fun and replay value but not enough to keep the game past beating the single player.
Overall, I am enjoying it and would recommend it as it has an old-school Nintendo 64 feel to it, but with the low replay value, I would recommend getting it on-sale and then trading/selling it for another game.

The multiplayer mode is definitely a YMMV situation.
Unfortunately that's the only part of the game they're adding DLC to. I haven't played the online multiplayer in LM3 yet, but I played it in the 3DS game with friends on and off for a couple of years even after beating the story mode. It's fun in short bursts.

I went ahead and bought it. I don't expect it to be on par with Final Fantasy 7 or anything. Just one of those games I was eyeing for the right price.

17-Nov(#17)So I "beat" Bloodstained with the worst ending, and boy that was a terrible ending. Continued on to get the next ending and holy hell, ran into a boss that is kicking my ass. 2 Bosses so far that were really tough on normal. I'm at 40% on the map. I really hope they can fix the major issues cause this game is pretty fricken awesome.

The switch version has terrible performance in several spots. All the other consoles run pretty good

I will note on PS4, playing on Pro was where I saw no issues, but I heard from slim/OG lots of random crashes. Could be similar on Xbox platform. PC was flawless, can't remember a single crash.
Soon as I heard Switch version had performance issues I wrote that one off, lol. Not even going to entertain the thought of picking it up.
Guru

18-Nov(#22)I got to the final FINAL boss in Bloodstained and got smoked so I'm taking a break. I think some of the issues are exaggerated.... looks a bit worse and unpolished, but definitely playable.
Hellblade on Switch is on sale for 14.99 on the eshop... y'all feel like iris worth this price or wait for it to be cheaper?
Anxiouz

18-Nov(#24)I had game ending bugs in Hellblade about 3/4 the way through and there's no way I'm gonna restart it. I can't imagine a 2nd playthrough being a fun one.

18-Nov(#25)I had fun with HB. I too played it on GP. I think the narrative was top notch as well as some of the environments looked great. But yeah, the battle system lacks luster and you're basically running/walking from one battle to the next.

I'm with ya here. I thought the narrative and storytelling was excellent, albeit some mediocre/generic combat sequences.

* 18-Nov(#30)I should have added a question, what are y'all most hoping for at this point? Mine is still the same as the last time I posted it in September, except I removed SNES Online, and added 2 ports.
1) Mario Kart 9
2) 2D Zelda - I know we just got the LA remake, but I want something new. Not a remake, not even a re-imagining. I want a brand new 2D Zelda game with no (stupid) gimmicks.
3) Donkey Kong Country 4 - More like the original trilogy, not Returns/Tropical Freeze. I know this is incredibly unlikely, but it's staying on my list anyway.
4) 2D Mario - something new that breaks free from the tired NSMB formula. A 2D Odyssey with Cappy could be great!
5) 3D Mario - either 3D World 2, Galaxy 3, or Odyssey 2.
6) F-Zero
7) Metroid Prime Trilogy
8) DS/3DS Player - something like the GBA Player, but for DS and 3DS games. Not exactly sure how this would work, maybe some add-on to the dock that could communicate with the Switch wirelessly, so the Switch itself would be the controller and bottom screen, and the add-on would display the top screen on the tv. It's not perfect, but I think it could work, and it would be great to be able to play ALL handheld Nintendo games on a TV.
9) Ports of Super Mario 3D World and Yoshi's Woolly World. Then I would have no need to ever return to the Wii U.

These two, a new Waverace, and a new FPS of some kind (not COD/Battlefield).

Perfect Dark 2020 for XB1 and Switch! Lol.

I'd be down. Really want a football game but after seeing videos of the latest Madden I'm not so sure I would want that on a Switch.

These games might not be big for you but my big games are
SMTFE#encore
Trails of Mana Remake
Xenoblade Remaster
Animal Crossing
KCPenguins

18-Nov(#40)1. Mario Golf Switch
2. Something new from Eternal Darkness (remake or sequel)
3. Switch (Wii) Sports
4. Super Mario Galaxy 3
5. New 2d Metroid or maybe Advanced Wars under $40
theJaw

18-Nov(#43)1. 2D Mario in the SMW style. This will never leave my list, but I feel like Mario Maker gets rid of this possibility.
2. Legit, new Star Wars game in the vein of Fallen Order and not just a licensed pinball game.
3. More straight forward 3D Mario game similar to Mario 64. I thought I wanted an open world Mario game but I was slightly disappointed with Odyssey so I want something a little more back to basics. Give me the Mushroom Kingdom again.
4. Fire Pro Wrestling with the ability to download fan-created wrestlers like the PC and PS versions to make a stacked roster.
5. Super Punch-Out. We got Arms but it's not the same deal.
Could probably come up with more but that's the top of my head.
proudtobelatino

18-Nov(#47)some franchises that i would like to see brought back
Pilotwings
F Zero/1080° Snowboarding/ Wave Race
Sin and Punishment
Golden Sun
Punch Out!
Duck Hunt
Advance Wars
Eternal Darkness
kid icarus
theJaw

18-Nov(#50)Yah I'd like one of the old school THPS games. Would even take the first Underground. Vivid memories of beating that game on New Year's Eve one year.
Would also like a Quidditch World Cup game. Loved it on Gamecube and would dig a new version, or at the very least a remaster.

Good plan. No point in paying full price for games you are going to play months/years from now.

Smart. I did this somewhat but then I've been on a

roll. I bought Pokemon even though I'm still on Witcher III. However there will be a bit of a drought in Dec/Jan so I'll be able to catch up. I mean I already beat Dragon Quest XIs and am 30 hours into Witcher III. I think I can handle it.

19-Nov(#55)i used to buy a bunch of games, especially when i first got my PC because of all the great sales, but after a while i noticed a lot of the games i haven't even played yet some have been there for years lol so now when i see a game that interest me i think to myself am i really going to play this game now or a month from now? if not then i just pass on it for now. it helps save money i ended up paying $15 bucks for GTA V instead of $60 also a lot of games get released broken and you are better off waiting to see if they fix it, though that probably does not happen as much on the switch idk
loztdogs

19-Nov(#57)I have had no issues with mine - fingers crossed!

it definitely does, in this modern age of consoles where things can be patched thats just going to be life. we are the testers now.

19-Nov(#63)Lunar wrote:> I'm a "Game of the Year Edition" or "Definitive Edition" gamer over "Day One"
Right way to go. The good thing for me is Nintendo doesn't have as many "GOTY editions" so there's my excuse to buy day 1!!
KCPenguins

19-Nov(#65)Doesn't it just require a WiFi connection and the default system to not be playing it at that time? That was my understanding. If you're wanting to transfer saves back and forth I believe you need to download cloud saves.
loztdogs

19-Nov(#66)You need cloud saves and it takes a min or two to update the device with the latest save state if I'm remembering correctly. I think an 8/10 year old could manage it in their own for sure. Especially if they have always been around this kind of tech before.

20-Nov(#67)Anyone ever played The Escapists games? I picked up the 2nd one in the eshop sale. It looks interesting and I like the graphics style

20-Nov(#69)Anyone have the Pokemon edition Switch Lite? How noticeable are the legendaries on the back?

20-Nov(#71)philliesphan wrote:> Anyone have the Pokemon edition Switch Lite? How noticeable are the legendaries on

I have it, not much. I HATE decal sort of decorations and it doesn't bother me. The system is a medium grey and the legendary outlines are a lighter grey. So they don't stand out too much, and still retain it's classy look. The blue and pink buttons are awesome though. I love the overall colors of the system.
loztdogs

20-Nov(#72)The button contrast is the best part imo
ErickRPG

20-Nov(#73)loztdogs wrote:> The button contrast is the best part imo
Yeah the system is like a

grey with just the perfect light blue and medium pink. My fav part too.
philliesphan

20-Nov(#74)I love the colors but I wished they made one without the decal. But that's good that they're very subtle. Gonna go ahead and order it.

* 21-Nov(#77)I imagine the casual gamer just doesn't care about that sort of thing and assume that if they get, say, "Witcher 3" on Switch, then it's a Nintendo game. Depends on what console they have and how much they actually pay attention. I feel like most folks who play video games just don't care and thus are oblivious to any of that sort of thing.
