If you looking for Xenoblade 2, it looks like it's almost guaranteed for Black Friday/ early December.

Well looking for a lot, helpful to see what goes on sale all the time, and what doesn't and if its a good price or not.

I dunno if it's been mentioned but there is suddenly a free app on eShop called Pokemon TV and it seems to be adding all the seasons of the Pokemon anime, plus a bunch of specials and kids stuff.

Not a huge Pokemon fan past the first gen but this is pretty neat if anyone wants to watch a few episodes. It doesn't look like all the seasons are on there, just scattered ones, but that makes me feel like they're still just adding to the library. Of course I only signed in as guest, you can sign in with a "trainer account" or whatever so maybe there's more content for those folks.

Either way pretty cool and if they really are just gonna be giving this much content away for free, good on them.

I started thinking about it and realized there are quite a few games to look forward to for Switch that are coming out fairly soon:

WarioWare: Get it Together!
Metroid Dread
Mario Party Superstars
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp
Big Brain Academy: Brain vs Brain
Pokemon Legends: Arceus

I'm most excited for Metroid Dread for sure. After that, I'm really looking forward to Big Brain Academy. I actually didn't even realize it had been announced, and only found it just now when I googled upcoming Switch games. My wife and I loved Big Brain Academy on the Wii, and have even played it with the kids some recently. Being able to play it multiplayer should be a lot of fun!

We also know of a few more without definite release dates:

Breath of the Wild 2
Splatoon 3
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Metroid Prime 4

I'm guessing/hoping March/April for BotW2 since BotW1 came out in March 2017, but I won't be surprised if that doesn't happen. Splatoon 3 will almost definitely release in the summer, just like Splatoon 1 and 2 did. I know MPT hasn't been officially confirmed, but I'm certain it's coming. There's no telling how long MP4 is going to take. Wasn't there a rumor that they basically scrapped everything and started over a couple years ago? Anybody know when exactly that happened, or what the exact details were on it?

@Scott Big Brain Academy: Brain vs Brain was only just announced a few hours ago. I remember liking the Wii version as well.

There's a Brain Age game from 2019 that only released in Japan and Europe eShops, it still hasn't released in North America yet. I wonder what the deal with that is?

It got a physical release in Europe at least. I bought a copy for sailorneorune and it even included a stylus.

I think the devil imagery on the cover US release of the 3DS Brain Age killed the series over here. When your biggest buyers are middle aged moms that are wary of video games in the first place (many believe Pokémon is Satanic), there probably weren't many marketing ideas that could have been worse.

except naming the Wii U the Wii U and the new 3DS the new 3DS

So apparently the Switch version of Sonic Colors Ultimate is garbage. There's plenty more examples on Twitter. If you were thinking of getting the game either wait until it's patched up or get it on a different console (all of the complaints I've seen so far are only about the Switch version). The team behind this is also responsible for the infamously bad Switch port of WWE 2K18.

I was waiting for this game for 2 freakin' years. I bought it day one (last Friday), played for an hour but it didn't immediately hook me like I was hoping (I hadn't even played long enough to unlock a sword, so up til that point my only way to defeat enemies was by throwing vases at them). I've since deleted that save file and will return to it at some point in the near future and start fresh. I dig the art style, but besides that it is yet another indie game aping Zelda's style and it feels like there are already hundreds of those (Blossom Tales was really good at it).

edit: I also want to point out the difficulty. You start with 3 hearts (like in Zelda) and a random rat (the first enemy I recall seeing in the game) will deplete 2 of the hearts if it touches you. That lead to probably a dozen Game Over screens before I had even finished the first "dungeon" area. Thankfully you are allowed to restart precisely where you died instead of being sent back to the starting point.

I was under the impression that this is just a mashup of boards and minigames from the Nintendo 64 trilogy, but the eShop description says there will be some minigames included from the GameCube entries as well. Mario Party 4 was my favorite in the entire series, so I look forward to revisiting some of those. We're only around 6 weeks away, I wish they'd just give us the full list of what is included.

Sega is going to announce a new RPG on October 1. I'm going to cross my fingers for Skies of Arcadia 2 (assuming it's not a new IP), but watch it be another Phantasy Star Online game.

Speaking of RPGs, Collection of Saga is on sale for $15. I bought it at launch, but I think this is the first time it's gotten a price cut.

Don't get your hopes up. I mean they still make good RPGs. But I don't think they are ever going back to the masterpieces like SoA or Phantasy Star.

Lol...oh well. Mobile isn't always bad though. Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls just released on Apple Arcade. I'll try that one out later.

oh it did? I'll have to check it out. I just upgraded from an iphone 6s to iphone 12 mini so I'm a little bit more interested in playing mobile, at least while I have a new toy. So I've been playing Crestoria. There can be some fun had there.

Nintendolife got hands on with the new Super Monkey Ball. I noticed a few quirks in their video, but nothing too bad. Looking great! Picking this one up.

I saw some people complaining because they tried to make it more accessible for noobs by giving infinite lives in this version. I don't really think that's a bad thing.

Agreed. If people want to try and beat the game on a limited number of lives, this doesn't prevent them from doing so. What they're really complaining about is a lack of self control.

That's only true if limited lives is included as a setting or difficulty mode.

Plus in the original version, collecting 100 bananas gives you an extra life, which constituted like half the strategy to playing the game. Now the bananas seem rather pointless.

The Super Monkey Ball Twitter posted that collecting bananas is used to purchase unlockables like characters, costumes, and modes.

ah cool! Easy mode, and banana as a purchasing coin. I was already getting this but I like that!
